Insgesamt war es sehr schön. Aber der Preis.
Rooftop sehr schön. Wir hatten kein Frühstück.
Die Betten sind die geilsten. Die Zimmer sind super.
Viel zu teuer.
Manchmal etwas zu laut.

Good location, very clean, attentive staff, nice pool
Music at pool uncomfortably loud, slow breakfast service, included breakfast was just eggs (no variety), pool bar over priced (€10 for two soft drinks)

It’s really central ! I just have to mention one particular staff member named Marisel ! She was amazing so helpful we really needed a hand with certain things and she just made everything so easy and relieved so much stress for us ! If I ever go back to playa del Carmen I’ll stay at the Thompson purely the fact that I know she will be there !

Location, the design .. rooms interior and roof top pool and seating areas design was great
The whole facility was on a "save mode,"
1- there was no staff around, and the room was not cleaned next day.
2- Front desk were not responsive to calls from the room, u have to go all the way to the lobby to talk to them. I had a problem with AC!
3- A/C was set to 22 celceuious .. during the night it went up to 24 .. anyway they changed the room eventually, but all in all it was so inconvenient.
4- towels were not available on the roof top pool.

Great location and beautiful hotel. I would definitely stay there again.
Biggest thing was location access to everything while I learned the area.

Fantastic location right in the middle of a very busy area in Playa. The rooftop pool was so much fun and the staff were terrific and so helpful. The food we ate both at pool for lunch and also breakfast was very tasty and fresh. We enjoyed the pool the most (it was super hot so it was a relief). The music and whole vibe was really fun also.
The music at the pool was a little loud across the day, would be nice to just have it down a touch and ramp up later in the afternoon. Would be difficult for people that were not into the kind of music that was being played. It's also quite loud at night (from the street), it didn't bother us, but if you were light sleepers it might be annoying, however the hotel does supply ear plugs :)

The location was fantastic close to beach and downtown area! So much accessability! Love it!
At night it could get loud and noisy. But not difficult to sleep!

It was clean and really moody. It is close to a lot of restaurants, shopping and Coco Bongo.
They never actually came to pick up the mini bar even though we told them on day 2 of 4. The mini fridge was stocked so we could barely put our own drinks and could not remove them and set them to the side as we would be charged if they were seen by house keeping. It was a bit noisy till about 3 AM. The staff was not accommodating with the towels even though the pool is supposed to be open 24 hours. The light were shut off on our side where we were lounging/ swimming at about 12-1. The valet was super quick but it’s a bit odd to get your car in as you have to drive down what looks to be an ally/walkway.

great location right off 5th Avenue, great rooftop
staff were not as knowledgeable as I would have expected regarding customs/travel questions… pretty limited facilities at their sister location. also, rood seemed geared toward Day Pass people

Location and the roof top restaurant was great
It's a bit noisy from the clubs next door but I'm OK with it
3.5
Location and room was nice. Everything matched my expectations except all the noise that comes through into the room ALL night long from the parties and clubs around.
Thompson needs to fix/replace windows so sound from the outside doesn’t come into the room.
The sound insolation is absolutely horrible! You can hear all the music and partying into the morning hours.
You guys need to fix/replace the windows to ensure it’s properly sound insulated.

The rooms were fabulous! Very spacious, great water pressure & temperature, well designed, perfect bathrooms, beds, and pillows, more comfortable than my own. We had the queen double w/ balcony. The service on the rooftop wasn’t that great. The bartenders took forever to make drinks, even when I stood in front of them. They were easily distracted. I don’t know why they don’t have a better set up, but that occurred on multiple days the drinks for tasty though. We didn’t eat at the restaurant. The location was excellent right around the corner from a Starbucks and essentially in the courtyard of a shopping center and we’re all of the best restaurants and shops are in the downtown area. We are able to walk through the neighborhood and felt very safe even into the early hours of the morning. There were marines with guns everywhere.
I was apprehensive about booking this property only because the one complaint I read in reviews over & over again was the noise level, however, my friend wanted to stay at a 4-star & above hotel, since we were out of the country. The first night we were there it was like we were being Punked. The receptionist enthusiastically said that we were on the top floor so that meant floor 2 out of 2 floors. I felt like he was trying to put a positive spin on it. We were in room 211 directly off of the elevator, closest to the entrance, which is a main street where the busiest loudest night clubs are located. Because of our proximity to several nightclubs right outside of our balcony, in addition to our own, which is located at the opposite end of the hotel, we heard throbbing, vibrating dance music house + live trumpet coming from several different establishments all at once. It sounded like we were sleeping outside on the sidewalk. There were earplugs left on the nightstand so I’m sure they get this a lot but they did nothing. I had to sleep w/ my Apple AirPods until lost charge at 1am but the clubs were still throbbing so all I could do was play rain sounds loudly through my speaker, put a pillow over my head, & wait until 2am til things died down. I am not exaggerating! This room or the rooms that are closest to the elevator shaft are fine for young people who are going to be out all night partying anyways but most definitely not for grown adults who are in bed by midnight. I only got a few hours of sleep the 1st night as a result. The next morning we shared our experience w/ the front desk & they moved us to the opposite end of the hotel closest to the restaurant UMI on the rooftop but placed us on Floor 1 for added quiet. It was so peaceful you could hear a pin drop. Much better experience!!! We were pleased otherwise we would’ve switched hotels. Great job on them for listening & turning the situation around.
