The pub itself, the menu, the location were all really lovely. The in-room breakfast selection was also very good. The staff were very polite
The bed is really in need of replacing - it was particularly uncomfortable. Also in the bathroom, the is a lot of mould on the walls around the skylight. We stayed in room 6

Arrived a little early but wasn't a problem. Great hosts. Great beer. Great food. Perfect location. Would defo stay again.
The floorboards are a little creaky but I guess that's standard for a building of its age. They are not that bad, just can't think of anything else to write here.

DIY breakfast suited me

Would have preferred a cooked breakfast

Excellent location for our trip. Friendly cosy pub in the centre of the village. Rooms were decorated nicely, beds were comfortable, good shower with shampoo, shower gel etc, good selection of tea, coffee, and breakfast items available in rooms with fresh milk, fruit, yoghurts etc available in a residents fridge downstairs which you could help yourself to.
Would be nice to have the option of a cooked breakfast on week days not just weekends

Good for an overnight stay. Comfy beds. Continental style breakfast fine. Evening meal was good. Friendly and helpful staff.
Bedroom a bit small. No hairdryer in drawer and only one spoon for 2 people for breakfast.

Friendly staff. Lovely food and great clean room. The room had tea coffee, biscuits, cereals, fresh fruit, milk...you would never be hungry at this hotel
We knew that the pub would be busy and a little noisy at night...however it didn't spoil our stay

Location, staff and food were excellent
Noisy air con which could be heard in our room

The Breakfast items exceeded my expectations - the fresh fruit, yogurt, ground coffeee with plunger, croissants and fresh milk in particular. The beds were comfy the bathroom was spacious and modern. There was adequate heating for Winter.
A room at the front will likely experience noise from glass recycling lorry early in morning on weekdays.

warm and welcoming
our double bed was against side of wall so I had to climb out at bottom of bed 😟

Location of pub was very convenient for our Christmas stay with relations. Also the fact that our dog was also welcome was an essential factor in booking.
Breakfast on Boxing Day morning was very nice indeed - full english included in room price.
Bit of a mis-communication regarding 'checking-in' on Christmas day - were told had to check in between 11am-12noon which was fine, but then advised we couldn't access room till 3pm - not the end of the world, just not made that clear in advance.
Was a bit surprised to see black mould on the ceiling of our ensuite - the ensuite was clean so a shame this hadn't been dealt with.
The fact that the 'continental' breakfast has to be eaten in your room on week day mornings is a bit disappointing especially as there wasn't enough room in our room (4) for both of us to be able to sit at a table. Would be nicer if you could sit in the restaurant/pub and eat it there.

The breakfast was brilliant, as vegetarian sometimes we get let down but the full veggie at The Sun Inn was superb, very high standard. Room was lovely, overlooking the church just perfect. Snack fridge a hit and quality of drinks and snacks in room was very good. We had dinner as well was really good.
Nothing it was a perfect weekend away

Lovely little pub and restaurant. Continental breakfast good. Food in the restaurant was delicious. Staff were extremely welcoming and friendly. Will be staying in the future when attending conferences at a local school.
The room was very cold. Windows were left open during the day and felt damp. Shower has very little pressure.

I had a lovely 1 night stop over at The Sun Inn. Lovely bar area and lovely room, the staff where so helpful, attentive and friendly, both me and my 9 month old Golden Retriever were made to feel so welcome. I went to bed with a full belly of delicious steak and red wine after nodding off a couple of times in front of the log fire. I cant recommended this inn and the lovely staff enough. Thank you so much for the perfect stop over, Mena & I will book with you again 🐾
Nothing.

We had a lovely welcome from staff as soon as we walked through the door. A lovely building. A great location with the Hook Norton brewery down the road. A lovely menu - we ate here and the food was good, We stayed on a Monday night so a continental breakfast in the room is included in the price. Very clean bedroom and ensuite. Great value.
Could not fault anything.
