This La Jolla apartment is in a great location - walkable to downtown, the tide pools, and a ton of great restaurants. There were 5 people staying in this apartment, and we had a comfortable stay, with plenty of communal space to hang out and enjoy the fabulous view. The owners were also proactively communicative and provided all the information we needed for our stay. I'd stay here again!

Superb Location! Central to everything one would need. The communication before and after our stay was excellent and questions were answered promptly. The residence itself does need a few cosmetic touch ups but did not affect my family’s stay. We loved the view and the amount of space available. We would definitely recommend the location.

Great place & location! My 5-year-old & I walked down to the tide pools daily & she loved it. Walked to breakfast. Ocean view from the living room with panoramic view. (Just watch out for crazy drivers in the area!)

We were in town for our daughter’s graduation from UCSD and chose this property for three adults. Each morning we enjoyed looking at the lovely ocean view as we had coffee and the beds were so comfortable. The location is perfect for walking to the beach or local shops and restaurants. There were some little maintenance issues that have been brought to the attention of the property managers. I would stay there again and will recommend it to any family and friends going to La Jolla.

As indicated in previous reviews, location is terrific. Wonderful views from living, dining and kitchen areas. Very walkable to oceanfront, beaches and downtown restaurants/shops — plus Contemporary Arts Museum. (Also don't miss El Pescador Fish Market/informal restaurant that is only a 5-minuite walk.) Large master bath and ensuite bathroom. Useful work area with desk. The property manager was nice to deal with.
The negatives that don't outweigh the positives: Very small second bathroom; window that doesn't close completely in master bathroom; very small, charmless outside deck. In addition, the condo could benefit from some freshening-up — such as new shades in the master bedroom and painting. (The online photos look better than today's reality.)

I was looking for something a bit special in La Jolla and this property did not do it for me. It has great ratings which is why we booked but it was not anything special. Three different contractors were there over the course of 5 days and the notifications came either day prior or day of. Too many people around, they kept parking in the unit parking space and were annoying to deal with. It was a hassle while on vacation - not a great fit for our family and wouldn't book again.

great stay in La Jolla for a family of five! The views did not disappoint. We could walk easily to the ocean and to dinner and entertainment. The condo has a great location. The building was quiet and safe. The property was clean, and enough space for a family of five. My kids loved the fish’s tank too. We would stay here again.

My family and I had a great experience at this rental! It had all the amenities we could need and everything worked well. The property managers were responsive to any support we needed throughout the booking process and while we were in the unit. We were able to access the beach and town with a short walk. We had a 18 month old with us, and she really enjoyed looking out the giant windows.

Does not quite meet expectations
Let me start with saying that the location is amazing. A block from some of the most beautiful beaches in La Jolla. Unfortunately, the condo lacks what I would consider an essential when you are at the beach - "AIR!"
There is absolutely no air flow in the condo and the main room (living room, dinning room, kitchen), which is the staple of the premises, has only two small windows on the side of the room that actually open and neither offer any airflow whatsoever. You end up having to run the AC 24/7 and even that doesn't properly ventilate and cool down the main room. I literally had to go and purchase a fan, as none was provided by the owners.
There balconies are for the most part irrelevant. They certainly don't add any air flow to the condo and are tucked away along the side of the building with no access to the front side of the property.
The master bed sags on both sides. It is a Temperpedic type of bed, so you literally are unable to move from side to side once you sink into the two sunken positions on either side of the mattress.
They do a good job making things look decent as the place is tastefully decorated, but if you are looking for a relaxing spot by the beach, this condo is not the one for you. The view is is amazing, but it almost seems fake, as you are locked indoors with no access to the amazing breeze and smell right outside your door.

Perfect apartment in perfect location.
Our family of 4 and nanny stayed here in September. The staff were fantastic from start to finish. The apartment was comfy clean and equipped with everything you need. The apartment was amazing, located walking to the beach, restaurants and shops. Would definitely stay here again.

Great Location
We had a great stay here in La Jolla. The location was great and view was amazing. The only negative would be lack of deck as with weather and a view that good, you’d want to sit outside and enjoy! Check-in was great, place was very comfortable for 3 people.

Great view, well furnished!
Overall had a great stay. The property was well furnished and had a great view. It was walking distance from many stores and restaurants. The only downside was the continuous noise from the upstairs property. They seemed to be awake most of the night. That is the only reason I did not give 5 stars.

Look no further!
Perfect place when visiting San Diego. It's location is perfect for visiting all the great places in and around the Sand Diego area. Ocean views from panoramic windows. Clean and well kept. Quiet location, yet steps away from the bustling town of La Jolla. Great place to shop and eat and view surfers and sea lions.

La Jolla Bliss
My husband, myself and my toddler stayed at this property in June of 2018. Aside from all of the obvious positives (the location, weather, view), we were pleased to discover all of the amenities in the property were top notch! The kitchen is stocked with every single thing you need (down to coffee filters, knife block, serving platters), and there are multiple sheets/towels, including large beach towels. In addition, there are multiple beach umbrellas, beach chairs, beach toys...you need not bring a thing! The property was clean and inviting, and my toddler loved the small aquarium. A small beach cove is a 3 minute walk from the driveway, and downtown La Jolla was about a 13 minute walk. Also, you can watch the beautiful sunset from the dining room table every single night! The few negatives we experienced was very loud noises from the apartment overhead; this property is currently for sale, and for the first 3 days/nights people walking in the apartment above, as well as running water, sliding closet doors, etc. could be heard as if in your own unit. Cleaning crews coming up and down the wooden/metal stairs along the back of the building shook the walls in the master bedroom. Thankfully this happened only the first few days we were on site and the rest of the week was quiet. However, if the 3rd level property were to be indefinitely inhabited, it would definitely cause a noise nuisance. (See reviews for the property on level 1 of this building for overhead noise complaints coming from this level 2 unit). If the noise had continued all week, I would not have rated this property as highly. If overhead noise doesn't bother you, then you really can't go wrong with this property! It is clean and beautiful, and in a highly desirable location.

beautiful view in la jolla
The house was nice, we loved the view and enjoyed breakfast watching the water. The neighborhood was very quiet. The amenities provided were a nice and unexpected touch. They had shampoo and body wash in each shower and laundry soap. Samara was very nice and accommodating to our schedule which we weren't expecting.

Perfect location in La Jolla with easy access to Nicholson Point
Wonderful condo in a perfect location with all the amenities including a nicely equipped kitchen to cook in while looking out over the ocean! Easy access to Nicholson Point and the La Jolla Cove tide pools (just a block to the public beach access) and everything you want to do and see in La Jolla surrounds you within easy walking distance. Comfortable beds, great seating areas, perfect views, nice side patio nestled by ficus trees...sub tropical loveliness everywhere you look. You can hear the surf at night when all is quiet while relaxing on the patio. Nice to have the designated parking for this unit as well! This is definitely a 5 star property at a great price. Loved our stay, will do it again! The property manager has thought of everything, so you don't have to!!!

Perfect, Perfect, Perfect!!!!
WOW! The living room view is fabulous! We all loved the living room, dining room and kitchen for hanging out and just enjoying visiting family and friends. And the location doesn't get any better....just a perfect location to walk to the village, the beach, and many wonderful restaurants. No need to rent a car... we just used Uber and Lyft for getting around if we wanted to explore further down the beach. My family didn't want to leave. So glad I found this special vacation rental!

It's nice to wake up in the morning, get a cup of coffee and just stare out of the window at this excellent condo. Lots of great food within walking distance. Comfortable beds. Cool, funky, retro furnishings. What's not to like?

Lovely
We loved our stay at this property. It is clean and the view is very nice, we ate in most nights because of it's comfort and beauty. It's a convenient location, beaches everywhere, one in walking distance. The unit is stocked with many items that make travel so much easier, and has some beach items like boogie boards and chairs. The only thing we didn't like was that the sheets smelled of a terribly strong chemical odor, so bad my husband had to sleep in a sleeping bag the entire time. That's not something we've come across, as all the VBRO and hotels we've stayed in have a neutral smell. However, I didn't feel this was worth downrating because the owner probably just didn't know that some people dislike extremely strong chemical fragrance. But if you dislike chemical odor or are sensitive to those chemicals, you may want to reconsider. Luckily, this would be a very easy switch for the owner to make, then it would be truly perfect. I'd stay here again for sure if another detergent was used. Thanks for a good time!

Pretty views, nice location, but needs some tender love and care
My husband, son and I stayed for 4 days April. The neighborhood is very pretty and quiet (if that is what you are looking for). There is one parking spot and you climb one flight of stairs to get into the condo (it's on the 2nd floor). The view from the condo is pretty and the condo is within a short walk to the to the beach. Unfortunately the large picture windows with the view of the ocean do not open, so it gets quite warm in the afternoon even with the AC running, so we ended up closing the blinds most afternoons. The beds (king and queen ) were comfortable with nice quality of linens. We did not use the sleeper sofa in the den. I think it would be very tight to have two adults in there--better for 2 small children or one teenager. We just used it as a den. The kitchen was adequately appointed for a short visit and the dining room table and chairs were fine. The living room is very minimally furnished--1 black leather sofa which isn't very comfortable, an ottoman, and hard white plastic barstool like chairs. It wouldn't be comfortable if you had a family of 6 trying to watch a movie. We managed with just the 3 of us with one person on the floor.
The condo is in need of some basic maintenance:
1) Smoke detectors--there do not seem to be any smoke/carbon monoxide detectors in the unit. They have all been removed (from hall, dining room, and 2 bedrooms).
2) Master shower--when you pull up on the valve to enable the shower mode only half the water goes to the shower head and the rest goes down the drain. Also, the shower head sprays out at random angles and needs replaced or serviced.
3) Kitchen sink--almost no hot water. Luke warm at best. Not good for washing dishes.
4) Hot pads--only 1 present. Kind of hard to cook with only 1.
5) No can opener. We had to go and buy one (so there is one now!).
6) Master bedroom bathroom window doesn't close all the way.
7) Light bulb in corner of living room is missing light--and looks like it is missing the socket for the light.
8) Fan in the hall bathroom is super loud--will probably wake the whole building.
9) Dishwasher--we had trouble getting the large plates to fit and for the dishwasher to do a good job cleaning. Perhaps user error but no real directions. Ran multiple cycles to end up handwashing.
Anyway, we sent all these comments except # 8/9 to property management on day 2 of our visit, and the response was they would forward them to the owners for consideration.

Very very nice place with an awesome view! Great neighborhood pretty relaxing atmosphere , super close to the beach. It had everything we needed. It has great big windows and it is decorated very well.we really enjoyed ourselves it was very roomy and comfortable! I highly recommend it.

Overall, we (my wife and I) were very disappointed with this rental. This unit suffers from a lack of maintenance and care. Below we provide a detailed description of our experience.
We arrived on a Saturday afternoon for a 2-week stay, and were greeted by Chelsea. We were struck immediately by her mentioning that one of the stove burners didn't work, and that the icemaker in the refrigerator didn't operate. There was no indication of any intent to repair them, and in fact during our stay no further mention was made of them.
On Sunday afternoon we noticed a mass of dead flying insects at the bottom of one of the windows facing the ocean. We called management and were informed someone would be by the next day to take care of the problem. No one showed. The next day, a helper arrived with several spray cans and attempted to kill off the insects. He advised us to call back if they reappeared, which they did the next day. We called again and were told that an exterminator would arrive in three days. He came on Friday and took care of the problem, but we overheard him saying that the entire building needed to be tented.
On Monday we discovered that the tray in the microwave would not rotate. We called again. The microwave was not repaired until ten days later, just two days before we were scheduled to leave.
The guest bathroom has a frosted glass door which did not provide adequate privacy. There was provision for a roll-up shade at the top of the bathroom door, but no shade was present.
In addition to the above issues, we gradually noticed others:
o Three ceiling light bulbs were out.
o The fireplace did not operate.
o The jacuzzi in the master bathtub did not operate.
o The sliding door in the master bath between the commode/bathtub did not work.
o The light over the master bath toilet/bathtub didn't work.
o One of the light bulbs in the fixture over the master bath vanity was burned out. They replaced it with a desk lamp!
o The large windows facing the ocean had roll-down shades, controlled by pull chains. Several windows lacked the pulley through which the bottom of the chain would normally be threaded. One of the shades had several dozen pinholes.
A handy man could have handled most of these items in a day. It doesn't appear that a “walk-through” by management of our condo was undertaken prior to our arrival. We honestly feel that we can’t recommend this condo, given the lack of management attention.

I travelled with my wife and 2 small kids. The location was perfect- quiet building, quiet neighborhood, walking distance to the beach, a playground, and restaurants. Chelsea, the person that meets you on day 1 to give you the keys, was great and available during the week for any issues. The apartment was very good overall- clean, modern, but needs some updating- bathtub in master is broken, doors are windowpaned and see through with clunky blinds you can roll down but that don't work well or that are broken; the parking spot is a challenge- in the back of the building, up a steep hill. Garage access would make life easier. However, the positives far away the negative, and at the price point, and the location, I would definitely stay here again.

This is a beautiful condo with an amazing view overlooking the ocean, one block away. It has a sleek, contemporary feel and a very modern, well-equipped kitchen, It is in a lovely quiet residential area that is in easy walking distance to LaJolla shops, restaurants, churches, and recreational areas. The king bed is a memory foam and very comfortable. It is nice to have laundry facilities on site. Cable TV and wireless Internet are available in the main room and in the bedrooms.
Booking was a bit confusing and disorganized but we finally made it happen. We were met at our condo the evening of arrival by Chelsea, who made sure we were into the condo without questions. She also was available for questions and concerns.
There were a few inconveniences, mostly the fact that the garage “wasn’t working” and we had to park in an extremely small spot in the rear of the building. This would take two of us to manipulate getting the car back out and down the driveway. It also meant that we couldn’t access the elevator (as promised when booking) with our heavy bags or with groceries. Other issues: there is a pocket door to the master toilet/shower area, that is crooked and nonfunctional. There are no lamps in the living area, just overhead lights, so reading at night has its challenges. It would have been nice to have two sets of keys when my husband and I had separate agendas during the day. This especially became a problem when we locked the condo doors when we departed, as instructed on the directions left for us. It turns out the manager didn’t have a separate set of keys to get in. Fortunately what I thought was a locked door in the rear of the building was actually still unlocked, so she was able to get into the condo.
Despite some of the inconveniences, we would be most happy to stay there again!
PS…We needed to depart in a bit of a rush to help babysit for our nearby grandchild. It turned out that I left some laundry in the washing machine. Chelsea most graciously dropped it off where we were sitting!!

Our family of four thoroughly enjoyed our first VRBO rental over New Years in La Jolla. The entire process was very easy and straight forward. The condo was accurately portrayed in the description and photos, and we were very pleased with it. The manager met us at the condo when we arrived and made sure we were comfortable. The view is lovely and location convenient with a 5-10 minute walk to the beach, restaurants and grocery store. Parking can be a little difficult around town, so walking is a real advantage. The condo has a small garage. We could park our standard size SUV at an angle without problem. A large sedan or truck might be a problem. We would gladly go back.
