The location was perfect. It was central to everything that Matlock Bath has to offer. The apartment was clean and modern.
Leaving by 10am seemed very early given that we could not go into the apartment until 3pm and we didn't actually arrive until after 6pm due to the parking restrictions. Parking was inconvenient as it was only available between 6pm and 8am although there was plentiful parking at the train station about 10 minutes walk away.

Location was lovely and it was a very unique and fun design, in theory this would be an amazing place to stay is some changes where made.
The bed was two single mattresses pushed together which the frame didn't hold together so we was forever pushing the beds together as we would fall down the middle. The main radiator the heating control was broken off so wouldn't turn on. The thermostat was not located within the property which is ground floor with no windows so incredibly cold. Whenever I wanted to turn the heating on I was required to contact the host who would then boost the heating allowing the two smaller radiators to work for approx an hour before turning off, in a property of this size it didn't do much during that time. Every morning we would wake up shivering. The plates, glasses and cutlery all needed to be rewashed as they were dirty from the greasy tea towel which was there. The lighting was Christmas lights wrapped around the chandelier which when they were on worked great but where stuck on a loop where they would start flashing which was just irritating, the controls for these did nothing. This switch was connected to the kitchen light which was the primary light source for the living area meaning we was in the dark for the majority of our stay. There was a metal ring from one of the barrels hanging above one of the seats which felt very unsafe. One evening at random we woke up to find the toilet despite not being used had overflowed and flooded the bathroom. The toilet itself was a circular toilet but had a square toilet seat which was fitted incorrectly making it very insecure. Forget about cooking if you book this apartment as there was only a toaster, kettle and microwave. The sink in he kitchen area wasn't even large enough for the plates provided making re washing everything a nightmare.
The photos showed a lamp in the front room which was not here making the lighting situation even more challenging to the point I had to move the lamps around to get some kind of light into the room.

The property does not provide breakfast but has a kitchenette (fridge/microwave/kettle/toaster) plenty of cafes a minute walk away.
It's not a dislike but just a basic little free standing clothes hanger would complete it.

Great location and great value for money
Keys weren't in the key safe on arrival however someone came and met us with a key within 15 minutes

The location is perfect, the view is lovely. The apartment was clean and was very warm. Its such lovely old building . Good sized rooms, lots of space. Double bed was comfortable, the wardrobes are a good size.
The TV has terrible signal. There was very basic facilities. I would have liked more tea/coffee/sugar. I think some lamps would be nice and a shelf in the bathroom to put toiletries on. Only one toilet roll. There was a smell of cigarettes in the kitchen area Good value as the apartment is lovely, I would stay again.

We did not end up staying there as upon arrival we found that the room was dirty, the bed was unmade upin arrival with flecks of mud on the covers and there was dirty tissue on the floor. We have not been able to resolve this with booking com and messages to the property have been left unanswered.

We stayed in the wine vault. It's really quirky and well thought out regarding the layout . Everything you need for a break away and spotlessly clean. Ideally situated on the main crescent of Matlock Bath.
Nothing. It was more than we expected.

A clean and spacious apartment at a very good price. The host provided detailed instructions on locating the lock box and accessing the property. Given the provision of a cooker and microwave, we brought our own food and enjoyed a pleasant, relaxed evening meal at the table overlooking the lights by the river. The apartment provided a convenient base for travelling on into the Peak District the next morning after a good night's sleep. We found there was plenty of free overnight parking (after 6pm) on the road right by the apartment.
There were some minor niggles that didn't badly detract from the overall positive experience. E.g. we had to improvise when we found there was no tea-towel after washing up; we were informed that WiFi had recently been installed (an unexpected plus), but it didn't seem to be working; there were only 2 wine glasses (for 3 guests); and there were lots of pots and pans but no baking dishes for the oven or microwave.

Clean, good location
Check in was from 3pm but they didn’t send the door code until 3.20pm which was a bit annoying

Central to Matlock Bath
No view from the windows so dark inside.
Musty smell throughout, bedding felt damp, oven was dirty, all our clothes smelt damp and musty when we got home

Loved the layout, facilities, location and the great heaters.
Found it a bit fiddly to get the key back into the key safe.
Maybe the keyring could be smaller.

Location, size and faculties very good.
There was a slight smell of damp when I got in and also the basin was very slow to drain.
(I’m a plumber btw). 😀

Location was good, but difficult to find. Parking was a nightmare as on road parking was time limited and busy. Had to park in the train station car park, but again limited to 6am the following morning.
Flat was basic and I thought over priced for the night. Kitchen was missing some everyday items. Although clean it was very dated in places. The shower was attached to the taps but we could not for the life of us find how you changed it from tap to shower. Overall disappointed.

Such a quirky little place just on the high street fab location. In a converted wine vault. It felt very romantic and had such character which we loved.
A little bit of a fusty smell but this is probably due to the fact it has no windows .. but this didn’t bother us it added to the character

Very spacious apartment in a great location. Comfortable clean beds. My grandchildren loved it.
Wifi has now been added. Good value for money paid.
Couldn't get the TV to work but only stayed one night so not a manger problem. No tea towel in the kitchen and only one toilet roll provided for four people.

The apartment was roomy and pleasantly cool. Lovely fluffy white towels Location was both good and bad.Ideal base for the activities when had in mind.
Upon arrival there was a really stale smell in the hallway.,stale cigarette smoke mostly. The apartment was a good size but just a little tired. Renovations in the bathroom had started but there were patches of plaster that had been filled but not rubbed down and repainted. The bathroom radiator is all but falling of the wall. There was not bedside light in the main bedroom so we moved one into that bedroom from the other bedroom, the remaining bedside light didn’t work. A rack of hooks in the hall was lying on the floor. The apartment was dusty in places, such as the skirting boards, cobwebs on the ceiling in the main bathroom. It would have been useful to have a tea towel and washing up cloth and there was only one teaspoon.Lastly the sheet on the main bed had been placed on the mattress but not really tucked in. With a little extra care this could be a first rate property.
One last thing which is no fault of the property was the parking. We arrived at 3.30p.m and due to the huge amount of motorbikes and car traffic not only was it difficult to drive down the main road but finding a car parking place anywhere was impossible. We turned around and found a tea room where we stayed for an hour. Driving back to the property we were very fortunate to find a space. However the roar of bikes was at times deafening. Talking to local shopkeepers we were informed that it is always like this at the weekend. Had we known I think we would have booked at a different time.

All on one level made it easier to walk from living room to kitchen toilet room and bedroom
Living room radiator coming away from walls the chair was holding it up.
Need sound proof windows very noisy from the people in restaurant below and bikers next morning
Bed was OK but you get used to your own.
Could do with a make over too brighten the room up.
