Good location and easy public transport into the city centre for a busy December weekend.
Very friendly staff, easy parking and a good price.
We chose the superior room so weren't in the ground floor motel style rooms, although we only used the hotel for sleeping.

It was dirty. There was something sticky on the walls and roof that made the room smell. The door handle fell of multiple times, had to be careful when opening the bathroom. Unexplainable stains on the sheets and pillows.
Staff really nice and the breakfast was decent. But the room was not the same as described in the listing.

This is a cheap hotel and it shows within the outside and inside of the hotel.
Slept well overall

It was ok.

Worst Hotel ever, hair all over the bed. Had to sleep in my own clothes as did not want to stay on the dirty bed clothes. The Shower was so dirty, I did not have one.
Please refund me my money.
Thank you

Booked this room for my Husband as a place to stay after a long physical days work & in the area of his next job in the city he next day. On arrival the outside appearance was just awful looked like it had been closed down. The surrounding area also was very run down.
The rooms & the whole property is incredibly outdated & rundown.
Somthing from.the 70s
The armchair by the bed very stained & dirty. Put a house towel on it to sit on. The wall light was broken & hanging by its wiring. I fix this myself for my own safety.
The bath panel was water dameged & falling apart. Heated towel rail not working. The curtains were discussing stained & dirty both sides. Found a old earring on the floor & lots of rubbish under the bed. The only good thing was the bed sheets & pillows were clean & the bath towels.
The Bar was a joke no beer pumps working only bottles & cans of drink in a very boring well lit room.
I had people staying next to my room smoking Canabis & could smell it in my room all night.
The Hotel is open to anyone to wonder aroun off the street felt very unsafe at night.
Cooked English Breakfast was OK with the 6 standard item & a good selection of cereals & juices.
Never saw a soul & never saw a menber of staff.
Definitely would not stay here again & would not recommend.

This Hotel was OK. The room was adequate. Breakfast was included. The Hotel was ideally located for what we were going to do.
Have booked again for T20 finals.

Booked a room to attend the T20 Cricket. Was able to check in early, brilliant! But told that the beds had not been fully made but would be by the time we returned later that evening. Put the bags in our room, and discovered that when the toilet flushed, water poured out of the bottom and all over the floor. Told reception who made a note.
Returned to room in the evening to discover, toilet still leaked, beds not made. Reception then gave us pillow cases to put on beds ourselves.
Upon checkout we told reception again about the issues, who then told us that we were supposed of been moved to a different room, but this clearly never happened or even told that this was to happen.
At least there was parking…

Very enjoyable stay, ideal location, friendly staff.

Felt unsafe in the hotel. The door didn’t look like it could be closed with customer safety. Felt like I was unsafe in the environment. The room had no light and just didn’t feel comfortable being there. I’d like a refund

Very uncomfortable bed. Room needs attention. Rooms not made up daily. Maintenance in room lacking.

Property was more of a MOTEL than a Hotel. Its extremely muggy, smelly and dusty
I didnt stay the night as we didnt feel safe we cancelled the trip and stayed Elsewhere. Men in baralavas hanging around the public car park. Not a nice place to be
1.0
We had booked 4 nights , had to stay a horrible one night and checked out following day because of the inhabitable state of the place, it was filth, stuffy with bugs crowling about
6.0
Only one light worked in room, shower rail broken, toilet seat loose. Mold in bathroom, walls stained and in bed if painting. These are relatively minor issues that could be fixed by a maintenance crew. However arriving late at night, with little choice given there was a test match on, we had no choice.
6.0
Lift was filthy which gave an immediate bad impression. Bed was clean
6.0
We were looking for a hotel a short distance to the Test match at Edgbaston with parking. Despite some poor reviews on line we were nicely surprised. The buildings are relatively old but the rooms were clean and tidy. The staff were all very helpful and the breakfast was tasty. We were able to leave our car all day while we were at the Test match free of charge. It fitted our requirements nicely and the TGI Fridays across the road was a good option for an evening meal and beer.

Great location for Overnight stay whilst in Broad street end of Brum. Clean and basic . It isn’t as if you spend much time in room as you want to be out and about . If you want fancy pay your money and go elsewhere. Would I stay again .Yes.

Great

From the outside, we weren't sure what to expect, but the room was great, offering all we needed - and in fact more, as we were just using it as a convenient base to get back to after a night out and to leave from early in the morning as we were doing election duties a couple of streets over.
The room was easy to find and get to; we didn't pay for breakfast as we had to leave earlier in the morning than the breakfast started. My husband was given a free bottle of water as he needed to take his night-time and morning tablets and we really appreciated how helpful the staff were.
With another election coming up that we will very likely be working, if we're at the same polling station, we'll definitely come back. Even if we aren't at the same polling station, we may well be staying here again!

The hotel was disappointing, did not look anything like the pictures on the website, [these were obviously taken several yrs ago]. The rooms were very 'tired' in need of revamps. curtains were hanging in tatters, bed foot protectors over top cover were dirty and stained. Staff were not bothered with any requests, probably should be rated as 1*. I would not use this hotel again.

It was more like a motel than a hotel and some rather questionable guests

This may well suit some people but for someone working away from home, it does not suit.
I would liken this hotel to something you may have stayed at in the Eastern Bloc before the curtain came down.
Various unpleasant smells throughout the place.
I paid £10 for a breakfast I couldn't eat (and I like my food).
Photos in no way represent what the rooms actually look like.
There were hairs from four different people on my sheets and I was there alone.
Booked two nights and they would not refund the second night. so my company had to pay for me to stay at a Travelodge down the road for the second night.

It was a good size suite and plenty of beds for our group. Regretfully we were on the first floor and the lift wasn't working so it was a struggle for one of our party who uses a walking stick - this wasn't mentioned when we checked in at reception.
The beds etc need to be moved when hoovering as we found remnants of food packaging under the edge of one bed and it was clear that the carpets hadn't been hoovered under other beds in the suite when we took a closer look. The kettle could also do with a proper clean. Nice to have an aircon unit in one of the bedrooms but it looks very old and bit broken. Could do with a couple of lounge chairs rather than having to sit on the beds - plenty of space for some.
Lady on reception was very friendly and helpful with the bus connection information we needed. Suite was nice and quiet and we didn't hear any of the traffic noise.
The bathroom looks new but couldn't get hot water from the shower in the morning, despite hot water being available from the sink!!!
The accommodation just needs a bit of updating and attention to cleanliness but was adequate for our overnight stay and we weren't expecting 3 or 4 star.
4.0
The hotel was ideally situated.
The staff were very helpful
The rom was fine for somewhere to use as a base otherwise very basic. There was rubbish dow the side of the one chair and a hole in the carpet by the side of the one bed. It was reported to the member of staff on duty and he was very obliging and happy that these things had been brought up.
The breakfast was fine though I wouldn't have called it continental.
Cereal, yoghurt, cooked breakfast, toast and apples. May have been more fruit but could have gone by the time we got down to the restaurant.
Can't expect too much for what was paid but you don't expect to find rubbish down the side of chairs and holes in carpet.
I am not blaming this on poor management but cleaners need to be more visual
4.0
For a budget stay within walking distance of Birmingham city centre, this did the trick.
The welcome at reception was pleasant enough, there was ample parking space and the bed was comfy.
The room was clean although looked a little tired.
It did what we needed for a one night stay.
6.0
Very old dirty and dated
But beds were very comfortable
4.0
Nice room, plenty of tea coffee sugar but no milk so couldn't have a drink, I'm sure this was just an oversight, I was literally using room as a base overnight so didn't particularly bother me, comfy bed clean room
1.0
Booked on behalf of our engineers who travelled 100 miles for work just to have to travel 100 miles back home again due to the terrible, unclean state of the rooms. bed bugs were found after showing proof images the reception denied and said they did not see any.
The hotel could not provide a refund for this particular stay as their excuse was "we had already checked-in" even though the engineers had already travelled home and would not be staying anymore.

Dated, run down, dirty - fixtures weren't working as they should.

The room was dirty it hadn’t been cleaned properly the draws was dirty inside of cigarettes. There was no hot water to have a shower/ bath however there was hot water from the sink when complained about this the staff did nothing and just shrugged their shoulders.
