We really enjoyed our time at this property. Walking distance to the beach and to restaurants. The Taco Stand was amazing and the Flower Pot Cafe had the best coffee we’ve ever had. Backyard was relaxing. There was a lot if construction close by but that us temporary.
5.0 / 5.0
Wonderful little beach house walking distance from the market, restaurants, shopping and beaches. Clean, safe, quiet neighborhood.
4.0 / 5.0
Home was great, completely matched how it was advertised. I have only 2 issues with our stay. Number one, the door lock code that was given to us was wrong when we got there. After some back and forth with Vacasa, we ended up getting the right code. Number two, each bathroom was supposed to come with 2 rolls of toilet paper but only one of them actually did. After some back and forth with Vacasa they promised to deliver an extra roll, but never did. So we had to buy extra rolls ourselves. I got the impression that the person on the other end of the help line did not really know the property very well, which is probably what contributed to those issues.

This home was better in person and great back yard. Close to the beach and we were able to walk to downtown for brunch, shopping and dinner when we stayed in the area. A little trouble getting into the home(needed more instruction in directions that were sent to us) but didn't take too long after reaching Vacasa. Only other incident would be the ants that got into one of the suitcases in the middle bedroom. Luggage racks for the smaller bedrooms would be good to keep luggage off the floor. That may help. All in all, would recommend this place.

We sat out in the backyard every morning next to the fire pit and drank our lattes. It is a very pretty back yard. The only problem was dealing with Vacasa. They couldn't give us the right code to get in the house until after 6pm. Vacasa did not fill up the propane tanks which were empty until the next day. Vacasa entered our house without our knowledge to put a sign in the window. Vacasa never had the landscapers show up which they were supposed to come on Wednesday and to close all the windows up and they never came. I like the house but not Vacasa.

Very convenient location to beaches, colleges and downtown San Diego. Loved the backyard, was nice having BBQ, heaters, fireplace and extra propane. House was very comfortable, slept well in beds, well-stocked kitchen, w/d in garage. Nice having room to park 2 cars. Would stay here again.
3.0 / 5.0
The house itself is lovely. There's plenty of room for group of 4 adults and it's decorated with a cozy vibe. Plus, the walk to the gorgeous beach was short and easy. Unfortunately, there were lots of little not-so-great things that prevent me from giving the property a higher rating.
1- The code for the door lock didn't work so we had to call to get a code that did work. Not the end of the world, right? But we had just driven 10 hours, needed to use the bathroom, and had to stand in the dark on the porch until the property manager could help us.
2- I specifically chose the house for the awesome yard. However, my dog couldn't really enjoy it much due to the fact that the bordering yards had dogs who liked to bark. This meant mine wanted to bark back, but there's a strict noise policy that I was afraid that we would break so my dog didn't spend that much time outside. This was a huge bummer.
3- By the end of day 3, there wasn't enough toilet paper in the front bathroom. The was only one extra roll in the whole house.
4- The queen bed in the front room was assembled poorly. Every time my son moved or turned while he slept, it would make the headboard bang against the wall which would wake him up. It was so bad that he decided to cut his trip short and head home after 3 days.
5- The twin bed in the middle room was so uncomfortable that I personally woke up dozens of times every night because my back ached.
6- The grill stopped working on Christmas Day with our food on it. While they attempted to come out with a new tank of gas within a couple of hours, it was too late for our food. My question– Why not keep an extra tank on hand? People like to grill especially when the temps are close to 80 degrees.
7- The kitchen wasn't well equipped with the extras– salt and pepper, sugar, etc.
8- The check out time in the info folder in the house said 11am but the actual time was 10am. An hour is significant on the last day as you're packing out and cleaning up.
As you can see, there were lots of little things that made our stay not the best. While I said, I loved the house itself and its location, I'm not sure that I would stay again.

Very nice and clean house with friendly owner. Great house (loved the fire pit!) for a family of 4-6. Super convenient for Del Mar, San Diego City and of course Lajolla.
4.0 / 5.0
Excellent location, adequate for six but dining table seats 4.
Kitchen well equipped but no hot pads or mitts, mixer did not work, ants almost everyday. Tile in kitchen tired. Nice yard and seating with fire pit, outside table for six, 2 heaters. But would consider staying next year if a few things are tweaked.

We really enjoyed our stay. The house was clean and had a beautiful yard. Walking distance to shops and restaurants.
2.0 / 5.0
The floor was dirty and ants were EVERYWHERE - in the kitchen on the floor and counters and table, in the living room on the sofas and floor and tables, in the bedrooms on the beds and floors. YUCK!! We had to kill ants and spray as soon as we got there then open all the windows and doors to air it out!!! There is no way the cleaning people don't know this. There is no way the people who stayed before us didn't know this. I would never rent here again!!!

We had a great time staying here as an extended family. The location is convenient - easy walk to the ocean and several restaurants and a grocery store within minutes by foot! The house itself was very comfortable and a great place to relax. The yard was great for the kids to run around in and adults to relax in. The only minor issue was an issue with the door code on arrival, however the number I called was very responsive and before I could even hang up, the Vacasa van responded and fixed the issue in less than a minute!

Good location to the beach and restaurants. The outdoor living space is an added bonus. The house is clean and spacious. The description and pictures are accurate. The property is managed through a company. There is no contact with the owner.

Loved how clean the house was with a nice layout and decor. Big yard was lovely although weather was too cold for us to really take advantage of it. The location was outstanding - close to a great little market and to lots of restaurants as well as to La Jolla village. We walked a lot. There were just two of us but we were able to host a few gatherings for meals with family and there was plenty of room. We would stay there again.

Nice property with great yard and closeness to the beach. Management company very responsive to minor issues.
House would seem more roomy with a little less furniture.

Our 10 day stay at Westbourne Ave was satisfactory. The house has all the basic amenities and is well located on a quiet street near Windandsea Beach. There is off street parking and a garden at the rear of the property. We had a few "first world" problems that could not be solved by the management company. The internet is slow by 2019 standards, the back garden was full of leaves and the bed in the master bedroom needs an upgrade. Other than that we had a pleasant stay.
2.5 / 5.0
The house was very comfortable for our family vacation. The master bedroom is spacious and private at the back of the house. We enjoyed sightseeing in San Diego and my sons tried surfing at La Jolla Shores. Windandsea beach was too challenging for them as newbies! Rental scooters were available right outside the house which was convenient for my sons. Down La Jolla was a mile away. We drove in and easily found parking. We enjoyed brunch at The Cottage and dinner at Prep Kitchen. The driveway was tight for two cars. but we were able to find parking on the block. If I were to do it again I might have considered a house near La Jolla Shores as my sons would have surfed every day. The beach is also really nice there. We used the kitchen mainly for breakfast, I enjoyed morning coffee in the garden. The house was a welcome respite after busy days!

Our family of 4 stayed here for a week in March 2018. We have 2 small children (ages 2 and 4) and it was perfect for us. The house had plenty of room for us as each child had their own room; and the living room had a nice sitting area and TV for us to relax in once the kids were asleep. The backyard is a big plus. We enjoyed sitting out back while the kids played; and were able to BBQ a few times during our stay.
The location is also great. The walk to the beach is about 5 minutes. The nearby beach was never busy while we were there. If you have small kids I recommend bringing a stroller for the walk as the road to the beach has a fair bit of incline. We also walked to the main part of La Jolla (where all the major restaurants and shops are, as well as the grocery store); that is about a 10-15 minute walk. The house has a driveway which is also very convenient as parking can be challenging at times in the area. The house is on a quiet street as well; we found it was nice and quiet in the evenings.
Overall the property seems to be clean and well kept. The property manager (Barbie) was awesome to deal with and responsive to anything we needed. The house has a lot of character to it and we were very happy with it. We will definitely be back in the future!

We shared two weeks with our son, daughter-in-law and two grandsons. We couldn't ask for a better location to the beach, restaurants and assistance from the property manager, Barbie. The kids loved to play soccer in the yard and just run around.

We are a retired couple who stayed at the pottery barn house in La Jolla for two weeks in November. Along with us we had our daughter, her husband and two small children, the house was perfect for the 6 of us. It has artificial grass front and back which was wonderful for the children to play on, and lovely mature trees. The house itself is well equipped with comfortable beds and a large flat screen tv which proved invaluable after we put the kids to bed each night. It is in a very quiet neighbourhood about 3 blocks from the ocean and a 15 min walk to downtown La Jolla. The best beach for swimming was at La Jolla Shores, which is about a 10 min drive away and downtown San Diego is a 20 minute drive. All in all, its a great location for a family vacation, and excellent value for the price. We would recommend it to our friends.

Awesome place! As described. Quiet, relaxing, airey, pictures are accurate; clean, neat, charming. Nice enclosed yard beyond the furnished patio; can pick fresh lemons, oranges and limes; very private; driveway parking for two small/mid cars. We were there for a wedding and were able to have many East coast adult guests stop by afterwards, plenty of space to relax and talk, no one felt crowded. Rooms clean and comfortable, plenty of linens. Kitchen very well equipped. Overseer, Barbie is right next door and checks daily to see if any problems, but is not intrusive. Can't say enough positive things. Would stay again! Love this place!

We absolutely loved our 3 weeks stay in this lovely house with our two kids. House and kitchen are very well equipped and clean. Great location, close to the beach, quiet and relaxing. Barbara Walker the property manager was always very kind, helped whenever there were questions and replied immediately to e-mails.
We can highly recommend this property for holidays and are planning to come back.

My family and I were fortunate to stay in this lovely comfortable home with our dog for a week this summer. Barbie, the manager, is very gracious and accommodating and her dog, Daphne, is delightful! There were beach chairs and coolers at our disposal and we were a short drive away from La Jolla Shores beach. Windandsea Beach is just a walk away and is a great spot to watch the surfers. We hope to come stay at this lovely home again in the future!

We stayed here for 2 weeks and loved every minute! The home is very comfortable and furnished nicely. Enjoyed the beautiful cool air and low humidity of S Cal. Many good restaurants nearby. Beautiful beach 2 blocks away with breath taking views. Nice staying in a roomy home with yard for our little dog. Very clean and well maintained. Barbie the property manager is very friendly and helpful in every way. Our dogs became girlfriends! Visited many places in San Diego, but loved the beach the most! Planning to visit next year.

This vacation rental was everything, and more! It actually looks even better than in the pics. It is spotlessly clean, well-stocked, and every comfort has bee thought of! If you need something...ask Barbie...you'll have it in a flash! We are dog lovers, so it was so great to have a dog friendly place, and sweet Blondie on property! Location is great...walking distance to beach, long walks, and downtown shopping and restaurants.
Will be back for sure!!

My family and I stayed here in July 2016. Our party included four adults and two kids (ages 4 & 8) and the house was the perfect size for us.
House: It was exactly as pictured/described. Very clean and well-stocked. Only downside was a very small TV in the main living room (we like to watch movies at night) but who really "needs" TV on vacation! The property manager is accessible but discreet. After the check in, she is available as your request. She lives just behind the property and our kids had a great time inviting her dog over to play ball in the backyard. The backyard has great shade and space for relaxing or grilling.
Beach: Very close proximity to Windansea Beach, which is a great place for laying out and watching the surfers. It is not ideal for small kids, but the house is also an easy drive over to La Jolla Shores which was a perfect beach for kids, shallow, calm water and a great playground. The house provides everything you need for beach going: towels, chairs, umbrellas.
Sightseeing: La Jolla is a great place to center yourself for sightseeing. It is an easy drive to all of the San Diego spots. We found ourselves in the light traffic direction wherever we went. La Jolla itself has lots to do and see as well.
Restaurants: the house is walking distance from several great restaurants. Try the Promiscuous Fork! Other favorites in La Jolla are the Taco Stand, La Jolla Pizza, and El Pescador.
We would absolutely stay at this location again and hope to return in the near future!

Our family of 5 stayed in this home for 10 days when we can to San Diego for my son's wedding and it was perfect for our needs. The house was immaculate and well kept, we ate breakfast on the back patio every morning under the citrus trees, and on the day of the wedding it was the perfect place for the bride and her five bridesmaids to do their makeup (tons of natural light) and get dressed for the wedding (large bedrooms and lots of mirrors). In addition it was close to several family friendly places for us to take the kids (Disneyland, Sea World, Legoland, San Diego zoo, kayaking, hiking, beach, etc.). Finally, Barb and her incredibly well-behaved dog, Blondie, were informative and helpful without being the least bit intrusive. We would highly recommend this home to anyone planning to stay in the San Diego/La Jolla area anytime as the weather is perfect year round.

We were very happy with our stay at this well maintained and very clean home. It was appointed with everything we needed and it is located within walking distance to restaurants, the beach, dry cleaning and a short drive to more of everything. We were a family of 6, 2 grandparents, 2 parents and 2 grown children. There was plenty of room for everyone. Barbie lives right behind the house and is available to answer any questions and also to let you play with her dog.....a bonus for our family! We would stay again if in the area.

We’ve finally found a property which merits our return. The location and home were perfectly suited for our vacation needs. It’s walking distance to the beach, restaurants, shops and the farmers market. The home itself was well appointed and spacious enough for our family of 5 and our dog. The inside was well maintained and the back yard was perfect for evening BBQ’s. Barbie and her dog were a pleasure to be around and seemingly always available for us. We can’t wait for next summer. Hopefully we can start a repeat visit punch card for future discounts!

My husband and I have rented many lovely homes over the last 15 years. This home and its location provided us the best vacation ever. The grandkids had never seen the ocean and it knocked their socks off. Only 2 blocks away we walked there every morning. One of them said, "I think we should live here if we can stay in this house." They loved playing with the landlady's dogs! And Legoland! Wonderful house, location, and city.

My family and I had a marvelous and relaxing stay at the Pottery Barn House. We walked to beach, fished out of San Diego, visited the Zoo, Balboa Park, toured the Midway and experienced so many great restaurants. Home was delightful and comfortable.
