We were thoroughly impressed by this unique and wonderful home. The River Nest sits on the riverbank's edge about 25' above the Methow River. There is a fantastic little pizza place right across a large parking lot from the house/cabin. I will call it a cabin because that is the feeling you get when you walk in.
The atmosphere inside the cabin is sizable and cozy at the same time. Both bedrooms are large and have doors out to private balconies overlooking the river. The beds and pillows were very comfortable. For me, pillows can make or break a place. The amenities and pictures listed here on VRBO are accurate. You might also try the local Methow Reservations website.
This was a great place to stay for three nights in the Methow Valley. We will definitely be staying here again on our next trip to northeastern Washington.

We had a wonderful stay at River Nest. Close to everything, great food and family.

I usually stay at the Chewuch Inn & Cabins for the Blues Festival weekend. However, this year, I had to find an alternative location. If there was ever such a thing as a good problem to have, this was it. I would highly recommend this rental.

The property was great after an initial issue with the property not being cleaned. It was taken care of immediately and the rest of our stay was great!

Great property and location Quiet place yet within walking distance of Winthrop downtown.

We have stayed at River Nest several times. This was another lovely, restful visit!

We had a nice stay at the River Nest while we were vacationing in the North Cascades. It is a cute and cozy home and we enjoyed the river flowing behind.

Beautiful and charming House has a great open layout overlooking the river, with equally great outdoor space. Fully stocked kitchen, including oils, spices, whole bean, coffee, coffee grinder, and coffee maker. And a good outdoor barbecue grill. Supermarket is less than 2/10 of a mile away, and business district less than 5/10 of a mile from house. Also, owner has provided lots of helpful information about nearby hiking trails, birdwatching, and other things to do. Finally, the house manual had lots of information, leaving us with no questions to direct to the owner. Altogether a truly terrific, four day/3 night stay!

Great location, short walk to downtown, also has EV charger in parking lot which was helpful. We had a 11 month old with us, easy for him to crawl around and watch the river. We loved our stay.

It looks even better than the pictures indicate. The rooms are comfortable, the kitchen quite functional and the balconies over the river are nice to have. There is not river access from the unit but there is a river park about a block away. The small air conditioning unit worked quite well.
I never had to communicate with the property owner so I'd rather not have been required to rate that.

Other than not being child friendly outside, everything else was great. AC in living room, big ceiling fans in bedrooms, loved the river noise & view & watching the people float by, everything needed in kitchen, hall for child to run up & down, big windows.

This cozy nest was so enjoyable! We loved the set up and design of the house and the outside area. We had a view of people rafting down the Methow River which was fun to watch! Great location! We highly recommend staying here!

3 great nights! Winthrop is a family favorite between Pearrygin lake, Methow river, and of course Shari's ice cream! This home; nestled right above the river was an excellent addition, peaceful, quaint, and all that we needed. The home is lovely, and now a hidden gem we hope to return to

Wonderful location!!
It was fabulous to hear the river in the morning. The setting is such that you'd never know you're right by the main road. We're definitely coming back!

Unique experience.
This place is very artistically and comfortably designed. We stayed for three nights with an other couple and the layout was perfect, providing privacy and also social spaces. The river running just below us was a treat. We highly recommend River Nest!!!

Exceeded expectations!
The photos of the property don't do it justice. It is absolutely gorgeous. This is the perfect place to stay when visiting family in Twisp.

Lovely Cabin
We enjoyed our stay at the River’s Nest even though it was an incredibly hot weekend and there is no AC. Eventually, the nights cooled down and we were able to sleep. The house overlooks the river with beautiful views of trees and moving water. The outside space and inside space are all well thought out-there is a fire pit and barbecue which we used every night to grill our dinner and the inside space is decorated so nicely. The beds were comfortable and the bathrooms had great showers. We will come back. It was very clean and organized and the cleaner checked in with us daily!

Cascades Getaway
Very lovely property with a lovely unique interior embedded in the Methow River Bank. Nice to use as a base for day trips into the cascade mountains. Good pizza right out the front door too.

This property was an absolute delight, right above the river and really comfortable. We loved watching the birds and it was lovely and quiet.

Great location in Winthrop, perfect for family of 4
Great location for our stay in Winthrop, right above the Methow river, super comfortable cabin for a family of 4 like ours. Easy jump off to explore the valley. Quality pizza + beer right next door! Good kitchen setup.

Better than a hotel!
That is what one teen said. We enjoyed our snowy time in Rivernest. The only thing to note is that the TV seems only for DVD's...oh and the middle bedroom's mattress is a bit firm. The kitchen has what you need, there is good space to put all of your things. It is cozy..but not small.. a good amount of space. It is close to the ski trailhead and ice skating. We enjoyed watching the birds and deer across the river. We will be back!

Winter Nordic Skiing Retreat
Terrific abode and location for a Nordic adventure in the Methow Valley. Home is cozy, esthetically pleasing, well equipped and a great place to both enjoy outdoor recreation and relax.

Great spot for a weekend away from the city
The space is very well designed, and you'd never know that you are staying behind a parking lot. It was lovely to hear the sound of the river in the background. I'd like to come back in the summer so we could explore the river more.

Great place as a home base for Methow Valley Adventures
Rivers Nest is a great place to stay...clean, has everything you will need, nice personal touches and a fabulous setting. Beds were comfortable, the kitchen well stocked. The windows looking out on the river were a great way to start the day..birds galore. Easy walking access to town if you like, plenty of parking and great pizza just a step a way. We would stay there again. Wonderful for any season!

Our second stay in two months
We love this place! So clean and cozy. I’m ready to book again for next year.

Wonderful place
We love this place...... it was our second time. The furnishings and amenities are a cut above what you usually find. The only glitch was the volume button on the tv remote didn't work so we couldn't watch any of the streaming options. There are three outside decks/ patios which are lovely to sit and read with the murmurings of the river just below you. And it is an easy walk one way to the grocery store and the other way to town. The house is spotless.

Don’t let the outside fool you, or the busy pizza place parking lot. Once you enter River’s Nest you are immediately relaxed by the sounds of the Methow River below and the songs of the birds flying right outside your windows. This lovely place is decorated beautifully, the kitchen is well stocked and the living room furniture is comfortable. I must admit I was initially worried that the lack of A/C would be miserable, but with the position of the home right over the river, the windows open and the ceiling fans going we were quite comfortable even on a 90+ degree day. My only complaint is that the beds are quite firm, a little too much for my liking. Having said that, I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again!

Great spot right on the river.
We had a great time in this rental. It was easy to access, had a great outdoor seating area, and had everything we needed in the kitchen/living spaces. We’d definitely rent it again or recommend to friends.

We had a lovely stay and will book again!

River Nest in the heat!
The property and location are good. Mid July brought 96 degree weather to the Methow. The lack of air conditioning, inability to create a cross draft with windows, bugs and lack of cable TV made fir a very uncomfortable stay. The temperature inside the house did not drop below 88 degrees the entire time.

Beautiful retreat!
This is truly a hidden gem. A beautifully designed, quiet retreat nestled right above the river. We loved everything about it.

Beautiful Spot
We loved this place. It was the perfect spot. My 7yr. old loved the little lofts, and we liked the quiet. The place is much larger than we'd expected. The photos just don't do it justice. We liked that it was just at the outer tip of Winthrop and that we had easy access to the bike path which leads straight into town.

Wonderful place on the river
My wife and I stayed for her birthday weekend. We were there to kayak the Methow river so it was really nice to be in the river and sitting out on the back deck.
The place was very clean. The communication was very good and access to town was really easy. It also helps that the best pizza in town is right out the front door.
We had a great time. We plan on coming back and have already referred some other people to the property. Thanks and see you next time

Loved it!
Beautiful home, wonderful location! Love everything about it except the beds are very very firm - I would actually call them hard. They could benefit greatly from a pillow top.
