Everything was amazing, great family of friends here and very chill vibes. Had a big family dinner, karaoke and drink up afterwards was the best night i’ve had in the Philippines. Very clean rooms, friendly staff. surf boards and motorbikes for rent aswell as day trips and airport transfers. lots of cats and dogs also which was great for me! will be back !! thank you Sinag family!

The property is really well located, the beds have curtains for privacy and there’s a hot shower (a rare commodity in this island). Staff was very friendly and helpful!
The bathroom in the rooms is not great. Not very sociable

I like how homy it was at Sinag. Staff were friendly and accommodating! Other guests were warm and friendly. I love how they have created a culture within the hostel that is very family-oriented! They encourage guests to interact and even provide an avenue to be able to do that. As a solo traveler, Sinag did not make me feel alone at all.
Just the occasional roaches that appear in my bedroom from time to time.

This hostel is a gem itself. Their hospitality and warmness is unrivaled. They were so accommodating and even went beyond our requests and needs. I love how it is styled like a house with a big and functional common/lounge area. You will certainly interact and meet people, which i personally think is Siargao's magic— the people's laidback, chill and vibrant vibe. I've been to most of the mainstream tourist spots in the country but this was the only notable one where it is commonly asked how many times you've been on the place, if it was your first time on the island or so, an indication that it is most often visited repeatedly. Visiting siargao could be life-transforming if you let it & the people you'll meet will be one of the kindest ones.
Thank you Sinag!! We had the most pleasant time staying with you!! Already planning to go back as soon as we can!! <3

As an Australian filipino surfer Location is perfect and staff are among the most welcoming 🙏 and if you're a surfer or just a big fan of the ocean this place is a one of the best I've stayed in, it's nice to be able to surf eat sleep and repeat , don't think twice stay here I know I'll be back love Sinag hostel
Ps if you're a dog and cat lover you will love this place!
None really it's hard to think of what could be a fault when you're on a remote island, just make sure you bring you're essentials somethings are hard to find

I had the most amazing time at Sinag Hostel in Siargao, and it all started with a friend's heartfelt recommendation. From the moment I stepped in, I felt like I was part of a big family. The welcoming staff, along with their friendly smiles, made me feel right at home.
Throughout my stay, I made some incredible friends from all around the world. We shared adventures, laughs, and even enjoyed some island hopping together. Sinag Hostel truly fosters a sense of community and camaraderie.
One night, I got a little flustered when I couldn't find my keys. But guess what? The hostel staff immediately provided me with a spare, easing my worries and showing their genuine care.
And how can I forget to mention the adorable dogs? They were an absolute delight, and we all bonded over their playful antics.
To sum it up, Sinag Hostel is a hidden gem in Siargao that I'll cherish forever. It's not just a place to stay; it's an experience filled with friendship, warmth, and adventure. If you're seeking a fun, simple, and personal getaway, don't miss the chance to create unforgettable memories at Sinag Hostel. It's a must-visit island home away from home!

Sinag is my go-to hostel when I'm in Siargao. I will never forget everyone I’ve met, especially the staff (who are very friendly & accommodating) the pets and other guests. I will always remember the weekly boodle fight, the spontaneous North trips & surfing, Catangnan bridge sunset and stargazing, drinking sessions & card games. I'm grateful I made a lot of friends here who later turned into family and a place to call home. Thank you Sinag! :)

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A Tidal Wave of Fun at Sinag Hostel! 🌊
If you've ever dreamed of living the ultimate beach life, let me introduce you to the legendary Sinag Hostel, where the sand, surf, and sensational vibes never end! 🏄♂️
Location, location, location! 🏖️ This gem of a hostel is just a stone's throw away from the beach and a breezy moped ride to the pulsating nightlife. It's the perfect spot for beach bums and party animals alike! 🛵💃
The Sinag staff are nothing short of amazing, but let's talk about Jessy for a moment. This gal is the human embodiment of a Swiss Army knife, always ready to help you with all your needs. 🛠️ If there were a Mount Rushmore for hostel employees, Jessy's face would be carved in stone! 🗿
The vibe at Sinag Hostel is contagious. Before you know it, you'll be swapping stories and becoming BFFs with everyone staying there. It's like a melting pot of fun-loving adventurers, and you're the secret ingredient! 🥘🎉
Ready to hang ten? Surf lessons are offered at a reasonable price, where you'll meet Bubong and Darnell, the raddest surf instructors on this side of the planet. These guys will have you catching waves like a pro in no time. 🏄♀️
Wednesday nights are an absolute treat with the Sinag family dinner. Everyone chips in, cooking up a storm in the communal kitchen or bringing tasty treats from outside. It's a smorgasbord of flavors, laughter, and unforgettable memories. 🍽️😄
If you're lucky enough to snag a room at this bodacious hostel, don't think twice. Dive in headfirst and ride the wave of adventure at Sinag Hostel! 🌊
⭐⭐⭐⭐ Musical Chairs at Sinag Hostel! 🪑🎶
Imagine a place so wonderful that the only complaint you can muster is about the lack of seating outside. Well, my friends, I found that magical place, and it's called Sinag Hostel! 🌟
Sinag Hostel has everything a weary traveler could ask for: comfortable beds, a lively atmosphere, and friendly staff. It's like stepping into a warm, welcoming hug after a long day of exploring. 🛌🤗
But let's talk about the elephant in the room: the lack of seating outside. It's not so much a tragedy as it is an opportunity to practice your musical chairs skills! 🐘🎶
Sure, you might have to engage in a friendly battle of wits and agility to secure your spot, but that's half the fun! Besides, there's something special about sitting on the ground, picnic-style, and bonding with your fellow travelers. 🧺🌳
The seating (or lack thereof) is like a mini social experiment where you'll quickly learn to appreciate the simpler things in life. Who knew sitting could be such a thrilling adventure? 🤔🎢
So, if you're looking for a hostel with a fun twist on outdoor seating, look no further than Sinag Hostel. It's a place where you'll make friends, memories, and maybe even perfect your musical chairs technique! 🏆🕺
Come for the comfort, stay for the seating challenge - you won't regret it! 😄

Had the best time at Sinag Hostel! I couldn’t be happier with everyone I met here including the staff. The staff are amazing and attentive, always there to help you with your needs. This place was truly a home away from home and I couldn’t have asked for a better stay.

The staff was really helpful and amazing people, they arranged everything we needed as renting a motorbike or the day trips, and they were always available to make sure that we got everything we needed. We would definitely give a 10 to the staff.
It was really loud and the guests were disrespectful. They didnt follow the quiet rule after 10pm and people were always hanging out outside our room, talking loud and with music on. Out of 4 nights, we only had two that we could actually sleep… we left the hostel feeling really tired since we couldnt sleep at all. Also we found two cockroach in our room and it was pretty bad. The bathroom was very smelly and since there are no curtains in the shower, basically the whole bathroom would be wet, there was also mold in the ceiling. The AC is loud and also we had trouble sleeping because of the noise of it. In summary, we couldnt sleep at all…

Very clean and central location.
It was very loud during the day and the night. The owner was not available when asking questions or requests.

I've been looking forward to writing this review. I hope I do it justice!
This place is like your Filipino college bestie taking you home with them...only to find yourself with an international family waiting to greet you also. It's giving family, friends amongst surfers (and I don't even surf, but I tried it 😉 Thanks Daryl), and Filipino culture & hospitality at every turn. It's close to the major surfing spots, partying...if that's your thing, and eateries galore...but don't sleep on the mom & pop Carinderia spots (ahem, James is a 2 second walk away). I love how Sinag has planned activities everyone's invited to...board games, group outings and tours, and a NOT TO MISS Family Dinner every Wednesday. But it's no pressure if you don't want to participate, they will help you seamlessly plan your own adventure. The residents here are respectful...some are passing through, while others have been around for weeks, months, even years, or double back. They know the lay of the land and can get you oriented quickly. Sinag has 3 lounging dogs, Orange, Marley, and Bogart that you can't miss and a cat that you're lucky if you see her...I believe she owns the place but never leaves her penthouse suite, as she's the longest resident.
If you're in Siargao, STAY HERE...you won't regret it! Tell them I sent you!
Saying goodbye. I’ll be back though.

The hostel's vibes were more on the chill/relaxed side, but there are better hostels if looking for more social atmosphere. The employers were really nice and helpful and offer a delicated personal treatment: helped with scooter and surfing board rental and organize a family dinner once a week which was cool. I was in a 4 people dorm with bathroom and it was just okay for the price. The common areas were nicer though.

The people in the hostel were awesome. There was a bulletin board of suggested hostel activities for the week in case you're looking for plans. Bed was comfy and rooms were nice
The toilet in the 2nd floor private room needs to be fixed. Water pressure is low so bidet and shower is unusable. The sink is broken and there's no water heater.

We had a wonderful stay! The folks at Sinag have created a welcoming community, with fun events to do every night and ways to engage with and give back to the local community.

We stayed there in January for a few nights in a private room. Amazing staff, so welcoming and warm. If you stay there you will have a home away from home (i guarantee).
If you love to surf or would like to learn it, you’ll be in the right place there. Every day you can join for a morning surf session with or without instructor (let them know what you need!)
They have a super sweet family dinner on wednesday and daily recommendations about events/parties listed on a blackboard.
When we checked in, we saw our names on the blackboard too. So people already knew our names, so cute.
It is a hostel for people who like to be active, engage with others and come back home to relax.
Thank you for this beautiful time♥️

A home away from home. I stayed for two months and it was almost impossible to leave. The staff are the sweetest and felt like family. Going surfing together and having dinners for the whole hostel on wednesdays were some of the many highlights. Probably the best hostel I’ve stayed in ever, so clean and comfortable also. Plus, loved having a kitchen. Overall, an experience I will remember for the rest of my life!

Our stay was unforgettable. The staff, atmosphere and everything was just amazing. Biggest appreciation to the hotel manager who took really good care of us while we got stuck in Siargao due to the bad weather. She is so kind and helpful. Would definitely visit again and we will be missing Sinag for sure!

Very homey experience. Location is excellent, close to Cloud 9 beach and good restaurants (try the bbq place down the street!).
We didn’t mind them, but a heads up that there are dogs and a nice cat at this location to travelers who may be sensitive to this.

Read my overall experience in Siargao and Sinag Hostel in a blog I wrote: https://whitehatstoic/posts/siargao
Sinag Hostel ain't perfect but they were the best at sharing the Siargao Chill Vibe. I met excellent people there in the process.
