Everyone enjoyed the openness and all 8 of us could converse at once. Beautiful property and I’m sure it will only get better with upgrades and improvements we observed. We had no issues except the gate guards were a little cranky because we didn’t always have gate passes. Only two passes and sometimes we went out in 4 vehicles. We had a great time and we really enjoyed the cabin. Very welcoming. Suggest adding night stands for those who have medical devices and no place for them.

My girlfriends and I enjoyed our stay. The house was absolutely beautiful and the views from the deck were breathtaking. The house accommodated our group of 9 very comfortably, and we were very pleased with how well outfitted the kitchen was in terms of pots/pans, plates, etc. The Riverbend community is beautiful and we appreciated the remoteness of the cabin within the community as well as the easy access to Lake Lure and Chimney Rock. Susan was great to work with and we look forward to renting from her again.

We had a wonderful stay at Susan's cabin. Lake Lure is a beautiful town. We visited Chimney Rock State Park as well as Pisgah National Forest. There is so much to do nearby. The cabin was well stocked and felt very homey.

Lovely cabin and views the only downside is the long drive to the cabin once you get to the gated community, otherwise it was very nice

Great Property
Loved the cabin and the view that it provided. Had planty of games in the cabin and plenty of kitchen items that were great to have. A few items looked like they were not cleaned from previous renters. Other than that cabin was really clean.

Family Weekend
The cabin was just as described in the listing, great views and everything you need right there. It was a perfect distance to Lake Lure and chimney rock however do not to GPS from house, we waited until we got to the entrance otherwise it doubled the time taking us out the other side of the neighborhood.

Great cabin in a great location
We had a fantastic week vacation and the cabin met all of our needs. With 4 kids, there was plenty of space for all. Close to the lake and chimney rock for things to do. We’re looking forward to planning our next trip.

Cabin in the mountains
We made it work out and had a good time. We were surprised the roads were not paved. Getting in and out of the cabin was challenging. If you rent this property you need a four wheel drive truck or SUV. The cabin furniture is weathered. It needs updating. No cable TV and the DVDs are dated. Bring your own is advised.

Absolutely Amazing Cabin
Perfect in every way! Equipped with everything you could possibly need! Super clean! Beautifully decorated! Gorgeous Mountain View from cabin and large wraparound deck! Short drive to Lake Lure, Chimney Rock and Rumbling Bald! Riverbend area where house is located is on a gravel road, but not a big deal! The seclusion and views are worth the drive! Not longer than an hour to The Biltmore Estate! Awesome grocery store and many great restaurants in the area! Can’t wait to go back! Be sure to eat on the patio at River Watch in Chimney Rock! The drive to Burnt Shirt Winery is worth the drive! Don’t miss the walk (or elevator) ride to the top of Chimney Rock! The hike to Hickory Nut falls is beautiful! Schedule a boat tour of Lake Lure early! We unfortunately missed out as they were all booked when we inquired! Lovely area and the decor and furnishings in Susan’s cabin were superb!

We travel frequently and stay at these private properties, this was the FIRST time I did not have to use any of my own pots or pans! In past experiences, I have always brought my "good" pans, a mixer...etc....Susan's home is the most complete stocked kitchen with GOOD quality cookware, cutlery..gadgets..etc.The check-in process was a breeze & Susan is completely responsive and great host. We were there for 10 days with various family & friends spending different nights and everyone was thrilled with the views and location. Only drawback is walk to front door from parking space can be challenging with a big load (ie..cooler).

Very comfortable retreat
My family enjoyed this property very much. Great price for an awesome view and quiet location. The beds were excellent and it was so quiet at night we all slept like babies. Grateful to be able to have my dog with us. Even though this was a pet friendly location it didn't show any sign of previous dogs, which was a plus. The Riverbend neighborhood is terrific. Enjoyed the lakes and the access to waterfalls and the Broad River. Outside of Lake Lure but close enough for anything you might want to do. Easier access frankly, from the Charlotte area.

Great week!
We spent a week at the cabin and could have stayed within the community the entire time. The cabin is spacious and was great for our family. The view was nice, and we enjoyed the lake and tubing on the river nearly everyday. It was a perfect getaway.

Relaxing weekend!
We really enjoyed our stay! Three bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, spacious kitchen and living area was plenty of space for our group. The kid friendly DVDs and toys were a bonus for our little ones. We enjoyed hiking nearby and the community has a great nature trail that walks along the river.

Best cabin ever
It truly was a fabulous visit and I would go back, and recommend to anyone. Cabin has a fully stocked kitchen with everything needed. The dishwasher needs a little attention as it is hard to start. Like the door doesn’t close properly. The beds were comfortable and there was firewood provided for the fire.

Christmas Cabin 2019
We had a great time at Lake Lure. Everything was well thought out and our expectations were met. The weather was rainy most of the week so we could not use the outdoor space because it was muddy and wet.

Great cabin, but very remote...and we were locked out by the housekeeper
This cabin is beautiful and very well stocked...which was very conveinent for our large family. The owner contacted me by text right before arriving to tell us one of the showers wasn't working and that we would have to use a separate bathroom in the unfinished basement. The owner felt that since she was still providing the same number of bathrooms advertised, all was good. But, this was an inconvenience and the bathroom sink drain wasn't working for the entire stay.
When we arrived at the cabin, the code we were given to open the door did not work. I had just talked to the owner and thankfully had a decent cellular signal. So, I quickly called her back and she provided the correct code.
Our main issue with the cabin was that we had to take our own trash to the gate of the property, due to issues with bears. For the price of this property, this is unacceptable and wasn't advertised. Also, the property development is all gravel road and very remote. If you don't plan to leave the cabin, that's not a big deal. We left once per day, and it was not a quick or simple drive. Beautiful cabin and the owner was responsive.

Mountains never disappoint
We had an incredible stay and loved the remote location of the neighborhood but relatively short distance to Lake Lure and Chimney Rock Village. The kids loved the neighborhood lake access, stream and waterfall areas. They kept asking to go back and play in the water.
Full disclosure we did have a couple issues that were handled promptly. So no complaints but I mention to let you know that the owners were quick to resolve an issue and that is so important when you are on vacation.
We visited lots of local attractions but if you are happy just staying in the neighborhood there was plenty of relaxing and adventure to be had right there.
We had a great time and are already talking about our next trip to the mountains.

Great Vacation
Loved working with Susan. The house is so homey! Kitchen well stocked, plenty of games, very comfortable beds, great common areas to fit the whole family. Internet was not great but that was a blessing in that we were able to spend more time together as a family.

Peaceful Mountain Time
The property was upscale, clean, in a quiet area, easy to get to and had gorgeous views. My husband, dog and I stayed here with my son and his wife and 2 small grandchildren. The layout of the main floor was open with plenty of light and views. The kitchen was well stocked. The beds were very comfy and the linens were fresh and plentiful.
Our favorite was the wrap around porch. It was awesome for morning coffee as well as star gazing. We enjoyed dinner on the porch under the covered, fanned area because it was pretty hot when we visited. It was fun to be able to roast marshmallows over the fire pit. There is a fun swimming hole right after you enter the neighborhood that we all enjoyed. Mirror Lake which is in the neighborhood was a real hit with my 5 yr old grandson. It’s clean and refreshing after a day of exploring the area. Although we couldn’t walk to it from the cabin, it was an quick car ride.
With little ones, it was also nice to have a washer/dryer. Another plus was the outside hose. The gravel road was dusty so each night we could hose off some of the grime from the cars. There was plenty of parking, very little traffic, and the trash dumpsters were located within the neighborhood so you didn’t have to go to a recycling center. I would definitely recommend this cabin and hope to return.

We enjoyed our time in the house everyday. To our surprise, the neighborhood beach area was lots of fun for everyone in our group...and so picturesque. Even enjoyed visiting the Chimney Rock shops no too far away.
