Guests loved the beautiful property with historical charm, spacious bedrooms, great location for sightseeing, and a wonderful rooftop balcony. Management was responsive to requests and issues, making the stay enjoyable and memorable.
2.0
The property was beautiful and was perfect for 3 adult couples traveling for an extended stay of 6 nights in Tel Aviv...For us far better that a hotel. In an ideal location and short walk for our visit to Old Jerusalem.
The 3 en suite bedrooms were great for our needs. The living room and kitchen were a wonderful addition in the beautiful, historic property. The rooftop balcony were incredible and in great weather would be a sanctuary to spend the evenings.
The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was when we arrived all the rooms were cold, as it was winter time, and due to the nature of the massive stone structure it took 2 days to warm up. I wish it had been warm when we arrived. The second issue was that we were unaware that what appeared to be a light switch in a bedroom we tuned off when we were not there. It turned out to be switch to a hot water heater so we had no hot water in 2 lower bedrooms for 2 days.
We did communicate with the manager by phone and he did bring additional blanket the next day and he did explain about the hot water heater switch.
I feel it would be helpful for foreign travelers to have a small booklet at the property to explain operation of various items. Also to label switches like the hot water heater.
I would not want to discourage anyone from renting this property because we would definitely rent here again!
They were prompt in response prior to arrival and loved our stay.

This is a terrific location although hard to find initially. Thankfully someone from the Waldorf Astoria knew exactly where to take us.
Communication with the manager was great although I had to push to get information two days out from leaving the States. I would have liked something perhaps a week ahead.
Location is a fairly easy walk even for someone aged and slightly disabled. We walked many times to the Old City and Mamilla Mall. I always felt safe in the house and walking around. This was a nice surprise.
We had three people here and everyone had their own space and bathroom. Note that the floors are uneven, even in the bathrooms. I had to be really careful especially at night. It would have been nice to have a rug in the bathrooms and beside each bed as the courtyard is completely open and dirt gets into the bedrooms.
Wifi is good only in the living room. Very spotty in the rest of the rooms. Not a deal breaker but good to know. A new modem arrived while we were there and this might have solved the issue.
We had plenty of coffee that I'd specially asked for. There is no coffee pot but a nespresso machine. That would be good to note on the property details for those that love coffee so that they have time to buy the pods.
There is a fitration system for water which I really appreciated. This is a great rental and if I come back to Jerusalem, I'd rent here again.

Property in great location with lovely outdoor space upstairs. Without a walk-through with the property manager we ran into some issues, and the property manager was very busy and hard to connect with.

Best rental ever - so charming
This house was incredible. 100 yr old Grape vine/tree growing through the center of the courtyard up to the roof deck trellises was magical. Vey spacious which is a rarity. Location was incredible, pretty much a 15 minute or less walk from all major attractions. Sitting on the roof deck every night enjoying the beautiful breeze and great ambiance from the landscaping and lighting was really special.
. This is a very rare property that should not be passed up. It made the trip that much better. Management was very responsive. We had a small issue that was taken care of immediately. Will definitely try and rent here again when i return.

Fantastic House in Jerusalem
We loved our stay at "Villa Mamilla." The house is as beautiful as in the pictures. The house is about 200 years old and has tremendous character. The roof deck is huge and very comfortable. It easily accommodated 18 people for lunch. Each bedroom has a full en suite bathroom, which is a major plus. There are no separate bathrooms, which means that visitors have to use one of the bathrooms in a bedroom. Keep in mind that each bedroom has to be accessed from the outside: two rooms are accessed from the downstairs courtyard, and one room is accessed from the roof deck. It was fine for us because we were there in the summer, but it might be a concern for people staying here in the winter.
The location is excellent. The house is a 15-20 minute walk to the Jaffa Gate through the open air Mamilla Mall. A good grocery store is walking distance away. It's also a comfortable 15-20 minute walk, or very short car ride, to different areas with restaurants.
We have only three minor caveats to our review. 1. The property manager didn't confirm the details for gaining access to the property until the day before our arrival. I would have been more relaxed if this had been sorted a few days earlier. However, we were very grateful that the property manager accommodated our early check-in. 2. The house had almost no extra supplies for our stay. We found maybe a couple rolls of toilet paper, but we had to purchase all of the paper products and basic cooking items, such as olive oil and salt and pepper. 3. The bathrooms are a little dated and awkward in size, although the one in the room on the roof is larger and more modern than the other two.
These three caveats were minor compared to the overall beauty and location of the property, which is why we're giving a five star rating. I mention these points because some people might expect a luxury bathroom with a five-star property.
We loved the house, and our guests also found it to be spectacular. We highly recommend Villa Mamilla, and we would stay there, again. Thank you!

Outstanding location and a very special cool place
Didn't know that we were going to be in such a cool place. The pictures on the website didn't do it justice. Lovely manager and has an awesome setup. Would definitely do it again.

The VRBO listing does not do it justice
It was a whole lot better than expected. The communication with the host was excellent with very quick responses via WhatsApp. Once we arrived (without a car - so we can't comment on the parking) the kids went wild when they saw the place.
You walk into a kitchen and living room in an L-shape which leads out to a central patio. Off of this are two more bedrooms, one which comfortably sleeps four and the other which sleeps two plus a loft for another one.
Upstairs, accessed from the central patio, there is a ridiculous amount of outside space with tables, a sukkah, various chairs ... and three kumquat trees which you can eat from. There's a door up there to the third bedroom as well as an Israeli style washer/dryer (e.g. not American size).
Each of the three bedrooms has it's own bathroom. Each room as one or two different heaters (we were there in the winter).
Very nice place - we weren't on top of each other and it's well decorated and very well located. The Jerusalem Great Synagogue is up the hill a bit, Mamilla mall is down the hill a bit. It's about a 10 minute walk to Jaffa Gate, the windmill, and Ben Yahuda.
Next time we come to Jerusalem, we would very much consider renting here again.

Lovely property
I recently stayed at Villa Mamilla for 3 nights over the weekend and enjoyed this lovely property in close proximity to shopping, restaurants and Jaffa gate to enter the old city.
The house is in a quiet neighborhood and has lots of space for a family gathering. My husband and I stayed with our two daughters (7 and 13) and brother in law with wife and two children (8 yo twins).
A few reasons for not giving this property 5 stars are as follows:
-We arrived at the parking lot under Waldorf Astoria Hotel as instructed but had a hard time getting the concierge to approve and let my rental car stay.
-Because we arrived on a Friday it was hard to reach someone at the rental Agency all the way till Saturday night, in observance of Shabbat, but without a 24/7 service why am I paying an agency service fee?
-Beware if anyone else in your party has another car they have to park at garage under the outlet stores for $45 a day.
-The house lacked enough toilet paper, paper towels, trash bags, hand soap in one bathroom, and had just a few towels in the bathrooms.
-The kitchen was invaded routinely by ants even if no food was out, they came looking for water by the sink.
Overall I would still consider staying here again should I come to Jerusalem in the near future.
