We had a blast for our father son baseball team trip to Wrigley. So much room. Loved the front porch. Our 16 year old boys loved the ping pong and pool table upstairs. Ana and Sebastian were amazing hosts and super responsive to everything we needed and even sent the boys donuts for our last morning. Easy 15 minute walk straight to Wrigley. 10 minute Uber to Michigan Ave and great restaurants. Having a Target a block away was key to getting groceries and anything else we needed. Clean house. Beds were comfortable. We had 10 people and were very comfortable. Would definitely stay again. If you are looking for a great place for a baseball trip, this is your spot.

Our family of 17 really enjoyed our stay and this old, beautiful mansion. Ana and Sebastian are great hosts with a lot of nice small details. The place is close to the train station, grocery stores, and some cute places to eat.

For a 100YO house, I was amazed at how clean it was, probably one of the cleanest rentals I've ever stayed in. Perfect for a big group - we had 11, a mix of couples and singles and everyone had their own bedroom. Front porch was perfect for the evenings, back patio was perfect for morning coffee. We made a couple Target runs during our stay, which is only a couple blocks away.
Definitely walkable to Wrigley, about 20-25 minutes. Sheridan has some nice and not-as-nice areas along the way but we felt safe as a group. The walk to the closest lake area - Montrose Beach - is about 25 minutes too (the description says something about 3 blocks, but that's not true). We ubered to Mich Ave/Millenium Park, easy pickup spot on the street.
The back parking spots were great, you just had to maneuver who was leaving when. It's ideal to have a buddy when you're the first person there or last one out since you need to go around to the front of the house for the key.
Host was super responsive and sent us donuts one morning just because there was a shortage of wine glasses (and I had specifically asked about that). Not necessary at all (seriously, we can drink wine out of plastic cups) but very much appreciated!
The kitchen got pretty hot because there wasn't a shade on the big window (that's one little suggestion I'd make) but it was functional, had a lovely sink, big fridge, nice big cutting board...and we all appreciated the nespresso and coffee maker!

Our group had 10 adults staying in this home—it was perfect for our weekend getaway! The house is beautiful and has great amenities, including a game room that the boys appreciated! The owners were great hosts—very accommodating and always responded back quickly. Would definitely recommend this property!

We were looking for a place where we can have our large group of friends stay together for the weekend. The mansion is massive with large communal spaces and high number of bedrooms, which gave us the perfect balance of private and communal spaces. Each bedroom had it's own window a/c unit too so we didn't have to worry about hot nights.
Ana was a great host! She was very prompt and friendly in her communication. She had the kitchen stocked with snacks, drinks, and coffee. She even got us donuts for one of the mornings.
The house is also conveniently located next to a Target, Aldi, and the Wilson redline stop, which made getting supplies or going into the city a breeze. The gated parking spots were also very helpful so we didn't have to struggle to find parking.
Highly recommend!

We had a group of 14 adults stay for a low-key gathering and the property was perfect. Ana was so communicative along the way for all our detail oriented questions and we were able to get an early check in. The dining table was already set and ready and the chef we hired had everything she needed.
Access to the home was clear and keyless access made it so simple for a group of our size. You do need to have semi skilled parkers to get 4 cars into the spaces in back of the house but as long as someone knows how to back in you are golden.
It is an old chicago home, and with that comes creaky floors and radiator clicks. If you close the doors on the back staircase the noise doesn't travel up that side of the house. But be mindful if you have light sleepers to put them on the back side away from the main staircase.
There was not a long cleaning list to complete for check out, so we were able to just do a quick sweep and head out in the morning.
Overall, this was a 10/10 experience and the group is talking about booking the same home next time we get together.

Our group of thirteen college friends stayed in this beautiful house for a reunion weekend to celebrate almost 40 years of friendship. We had a fabulous stay—there were enough bedrooms and beds to accommodate everyone comfortably. The dining room table had enough seating for all of us. The kitchen was well stocked; there were even some snacks on hand. The house itself is beautiful and spacious, with large areas for all of us to gather, and small nooks for smaller groups to catch up in quiet conversations. Ana was responsive to all of our requests, and everything we needed was available. Great location. All agreed it was a perfect weekend. We will be back!

Ana was an absolutely great host! She was very easy to work with and responded quickly. The house was beautiful and very charming. I felt like I was stepping back in time. Location was very convenient and we felt safe. We definitely enjoyed our stay, thank you so much for sharing your beautiful home Ana!

Amazingly clean and spacious. The backyard outdoor space and the on premise parking made this the perfect choice for our all ages, family group of 17 to stay. A short walk to Target and Aldi made everything we needed so convenient. We definitely hope to stay here again.

I booked this house for a reunion of friends who met in the Peace Corps 25 years ago. It was the perfect house for us! The house is beautiful and spacious with plenty of common space for us to enjoy time together, but also 9 bedrooms, each with at least one queen bed so that we could all also have our private space with equitably sized bedrooms. The bathrooms are updated and gorgeous. The location was fabulous as a base for exploring the city. I would definitely stay here again with a large group. The hosts were incredibly responsive with communication, responding almost instantly every time! They also had lots of helpful recommendations for things to do! We absolutely loved our stay here. I would definitely stay here again if I come to Chicago with a large group.

We had a fantastic time in this rental property. We had a large group of 20 people, and this house was able to fit us all. It is really close to Wrigley Field and all the great bars and restaurants in the area. It's literally a block from grocery stores, so we were able to stock up on food really easily. The L Train was also close, which made it easy to get downtown. The house itself was clean and functional. It's over 100 years old, which gives it a bit of a rustic vibe. But it definitely has been updated and looks great. Thanks for a great vacation!

Loved our stay! The space was comfortable, well furnished and equipped, super location, and all around perfect for an extended family gathering. We did everything from cooking brunch for 18 (grocery story and Target less than a block away) to ordering a delicious carry-out meal from one of the recommended spots. Comfortable beds, good shower pressure, and secure parking. The hosts thought of every detail! Highly recommend.

This was a beautiful home in a great location. It was walking distance from all kinds of eateries and conveniences. The host provided a great overview on things to do in the city and best places to eat. I would highly recommend this location.

Ana’s home is beautiful and charming and was ideal for our large family to celebrate my daughter’s college graduation. The home and yard are spacious and comfortable which is uncommon in Chicago. Their location is tough to beat and having an Aldi and a Target one block away was very convenient. Neighborhood is safe. We even walked with parents/grandparents to Montrose Beach. Ana is a responsive host which is so much appreciated. I’d stay here again for sure!

Ana is such a joy, so helpful and easily accessible. She answered all of my many questions leading up to my sister's bachelorette party weekend. The house was even more beautiful than the pictures. It was clean and organized. Every detail was perfectly thought out to welcome us, from the snacks and drinks left for us to enjoy, to the spray and towel baskets in each bathroom. This place fit our needs exactly and everyone absolutely loved staying here!!!

The check-in process was seamless. I appreciate how everything was exactly as stated in the listing. The bonus(es) was that we could walk to get anything we needed since Target and Aldi were so close in walking distance.
I loved that there were 9 bedrooms to allow for adequate space and they were actual bedrooms as opposed to beds being placed in random areas.

Our family convened at this magnificent house for an 85th birthday celebration.
We had our meals in, and the well-stocked kitchen and grand dining room accommodated us perfectly. The living room with the large curved sofa was a great spot for Friday's arrival happy hour. And the upstairs billiards room was a fun place to hang out.
The house is exactly as depicted and described - it is humongous! We had ten people staying overnight, so we had a couple bedrooms go unused. Everyone was comfortable with the sleeping and bathroom arrangements.
The parking behind the house was a nice benefit. At one point, we had five vehicles parked there.
The neighborhood was great, with enough places just a quick walk away (Starbucks inside Target, for example).
This home is something special, and it was a great place for a memorable family gathering.

We’ve held our annual Christmas/new year family reunion three times in this house and we love it! Rooms 13 comfortably and has congregational spaces to accommodate video gamers, pool sharks and jigsaw puzzlers simultaneously. While there’s space for different interests, the dining room is big enough to seat all of us for a shared meal.
Highly recommend!

This house, location, and the hosts were spectacular. We had a group of twenty extended family in Chicago for a football weekend. The house fit everyone comfortably in rooms and in common spaces. The Target was a block away and could be seen from the kitchen window. Right next to target was the L station- it was so easy and convenient to get to and from Evanston! The house was stocked with the essentials and the hosts even left some snacks which the kids enjoyed. The beds and common area were comfortable! I would give this location and hosts 6 starts if I could! Highly recommend!!!

We enjoyed our stay at Casa Monarca. The house had more than enough room to accommodate our party. The host was very responsive and provided exceptional customer service.

The house was perfect for our group; everyone fit comfortably. The property was absolutely stunning with so much character, and very well kept. Location was great only being a 20 min walk to Wrigleyville. Ana was very responsive and a great host. Would 100% recommend this place to any large group staying in the Chicago area.

We had a fantastic 2-night stay at this big, gorgeous home for our annual staff retreat! The location was great for walking to Lake Michigan as well as catching a game at Wrigley Field. We were able to cook meals on site as well as enjoy delicious neighborhood restaurants. The property was fully stocked with everything we needed; the only small adjustments would be to have tissue boxes in the bedrooms (especially since we were sharing bathrooms) as well as hand towels in the bathrooms. The host was extremely prompt in all message communications and very kind to correspond with in advance of our staff gathering. Highly recommend!

We had had 9 adults and 3 kids stay in this amazing beautifully renovated home to participate in the Chicago 1/2 marathon for team teal. I was diagnosed with stage 3 ovarian cancer 2.5 years ago. Our kids ran and raised $5200. This was the perfect spot for us to access all the neighborhood, the race, and Chicago had to offer. The beds are so comfy, the kitchen well stocked even snacks snd drinks, and the common areas were perfect for hanging out! The owners were very responsive and gracious!!!

First, the house: It's great. The bedrooms are real bedrooms, not alcoves or converted spaces masquerading as bedrooms. We had a large group and had no complaints about comfort. The kitchen was well appointed and the common spaces were great for shared conversation. The kids in our group loved the upstairs game room.
The location is great too. Right off the Red Line and near grocery stories and a Target. Plenty of local restaurants nearby as well. A few blocks away, the neighborhood gets a little more rugged, so it pays to know where you are going.
What made the stay the best was the owner, who was so welcoming and accommodating. She allowed us to drop our bags off early so we could do some sightseeing while the house was being cleaned from the prior renters. Once we checked in we found snacks and drinks welcoming us.
And when a limb fell from a neighbor's tree across the backyard, she was immediately on it, careful to make sure we were all OK. Even though it was a minor inconvenience, she was quick to communicate on the progress addressing it and even sent along a tasty treat on our final day.
Our group has regular reunions in cities around the country, but never have we had such a gracious and welcoming host. Five stars are not enough!

This property far exceeded my expectations. The location was ideal for my daughter’s wedding at Colvin House. Every aspect of the property was impressive. The bedrooms are spacious, tastefully decorated, and the beds are all very comfortable. The bathrooms are beautiful and roomy. The common areas are classy and cozy.
The private parking was easy to access and convenient to have. The street parking was available and safe too.
Beyond the exceptional beauty and comfort of this property, the personal care and attention of the owner made our stay exceedingly wonderful. Every one of my family members who stayed was thoroughly impressed by this place. Thank you for making our wedding weekend even better!

We were a party of 14, including 2 children. We enjoyed spending time in the dining room and in the living room. The kitchen is fully equipped. We had to contact the owner a couple of times and they were very prompt to respond. We had a nice time!

From July 10-15, my family gathered in Chicago from across the country (Arizona, Nevada, Pennsylvania and Virginia) for a family reunion. The trip was planned a year in advance and everyone contributed to cover the cost of the house rental. Unfortunately, we didn’t receive the access codes to enter the house until 6:24pm — 2 1/2 hours after our scheduled 4:00pm check-in. I had been in contact with the owner numerous times the past year but when I tried reaching out those 2 1/2 hours, she didn’t answer my calls or emails. During that time I waited on hold with VRBO for 1 1/2 hours. This was inexcusable. My family of 9 people were outside in the heat after traveling all day. I stood at the front of the house looking at the overgrown landscaping, dead potted plants on the porch and worn out bench in the yard and honestly thought we had been scammed out of our money and would be searching to find other accommodations for the week. Hopefully we can receive some reimbursement amount in compensation. After which, please delete this review as once we were in the house, we enjoyed the time together.

Had a great stay in this beautiful three-story brownstone home celebrating my wife's birthday with kids, spouses, and grandkids. Plenty of room for everyone. The welcome package mentioned a chef, which we arranged to come in and made for a wonderful night. Nice location to easily get around the neighborhood and the city. Ana's hospitality was top-notch. Memories were definitely made, and the house worked great for a big family.

Beautiful home & Great Accommodations!
Stayed here with some friends and we had the best time. This house is stunning and so well kept! Within walking distance to a few great places, otherwise just a short uber away. There is so much space that we never felt cramped. 10/10 would recommend this property to anyone while they are visiting Chicago!

Family Reunion
Great house for our family reunion (11 adults, 6 kids). Plenty of space to gather together or to take a time-out on your own. Convenient location, close to the metro, the beach, and a nice 9-hole golf course. Easy access to downtown. Ample off-street parking for our group (had 3 cars). Our only wish was for a full bath on the ground floor to go along with the bedroom on the ground floor. We had a few questions for our hosts before & during our stay - - they were always responsive in a timely manner.

Great House. Convenient to Wrigley
Large and Clean property near Wrigley. Ideal for large groups Not the greatest immediate area but the house itself is very nice and historic with character

Perfect Space for large group
Great hosts!! Ana was quick to respond at all times and she left snacks and drinks in the fridge which was an incredibly nice touch. Easy 1 mile walk to Wrigley or Lake Michigan. We had 14 and there was plenty of comfortable bed space for everyone with even a leftover bedroom that went unused. Nice newer bathrooms/showers and kitchen. Definitely recommend this place for large groups.
