The Hill View Cabin in Jonesville Bight was just what we needed. It was clean, comfortable, and spacious. We watched fish from the balcony and even saw a lionfish on the red coral by the dock. We kayaked, snorkeled, and saw the mangrove tunnels. There is much to love about this place and this part of the Island.
Sonny and Rosina were fantastic hosts, they were very accommodating and so knowledgeable. I enjoyed our talks and learned so much about the Island and its people. We will be back!

Wow!! All I can say is that this place was amazing!! My son and I had the time of our lives. Rosina and Sonny make you feel at home and like you are family. They picked us up at the airport and brought us to the store to stock up. The cabin has everything you need. My son loved sitting on the hammock that over looked everything. We will be back very soon. I feel like 20 days there just wasn’t enough. Rosina can also help with any tours weather zip lining, snorkeling, or just a beach day! Book right now!! You won’t regret ❤️

Loved every minute of this stay. Rosina is the greatest host ever made us feel like we knew her our whole lives. Her place is great it was everything we wanted and more. It's water access only but you can rent a boat and anywhere you want to go other than on the water Rosina will accommodate. She directed us to all the fishing, diving, etc guides for the best local prices. She is the epitome of the best the island has to offer. 10 stars will definitely be back to stay with her!

The property is right on the water. It’s close to my fiancé’s family home, so super convenient. Just a quick boat ride over. Property owner was super accommodating, and so very nice. Rental is clean and equipped with all you could need. Island living in it’s truest form. I visit Roatan every year. I will definitely be staying here again

Can’t say enough about Rosina and Sonny. They are incredible hosts. This cabin was very comfortable & had everything we needed. We rented a small boat from our hosts and loved using it to get around the area. Rosina took us on a little tour of the East End including Beautiful Camp Bay Beach and the town of Punta Gordy. This was a great way to see the beautiful coast and the little towns. We snorkelled right out front at Calvin’s Crack and saw our first Spotted Eagle Ray. We loved riding through the mangroves and snorkelling where the ocean comes in to meet them. We were fortunate to be there during a full moon and loved seeing it shinning on the water. There are lots of little restaurants around but our favourite was On The Rocks! Great food, great service and a baby monkey to play with while waiting for your food. We highly recommend renting this cabin.

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay with Ms Rosina and Mr Sonny. The breezes were fantastic. We loved visiting their monkeys and parrots and viewing all the plants and flowers. Ms Rosina brought me medicine when I was a bit sick. Mr Sonny brought us bananas and a papaya from their trees. They were the best hosts we have ever had. Nice that they live right there. We also enjoyed visiting BJ’s for music and Trico’s had great food and very friendly people also. Would definitely visit again. Would not worry about renting a car or boat. Many boat taxi’s and Ms Rosina will take you to the grocery one a week. She also does tours. Thanks for a great stay!

From the very begining to the very end, Rosina took care of us like we were part of her treasured family. Rosina greeted us at the airport and took us to buy groceries. She then took us to Jonesville and took us in a small boat to Flamingo, we could see it from across the way. The views of this property and from this property are amazing. Each morning we sipped our coffee and looked at the sailboats and saw the small community come to life and start the day. Rosina recommened places she thought we should visit and see. We rented a boat from her and were able to head out when we wanted to. My husband loves to fish and was overjoyed to catch fish right from our front deck. We saw beautiful lion fish right next to the lower deck, where do you get to do that! We enjoyed both the entertainment and the food at Trico. We have traveled a lot and we have never felt the same about any other place. We loved it here and are already planning our return trip.

The house was large and clean and it was a pleasant place to spend a week. However it was very hard to find as it is water access only and the parking spot for your vehicle is at a private home. There are kayaks which can be used for free or you can rent a motorboat. Have them pick you up and plan to rent the boat, doing this will start your vacation off with much less frustration.

From the moment we arrived at the airport Rosina and Sonny made us feel welcomed and comfortable! Their property is in a beautiful private spot with incredible sunrise and sunset views to watch from the hammock on the front porch. The flamingo cabin is stocked with everything from cooking ware to towels, shampoo, and laundry detergent. We slept like babies in the king size bed with ocean breeze blowing through the windows. Jonesville is so much fun to explore by boat. With easy access to the mangrove tunnels, awesome snorkeling, and fishing you can’t beat the east end! We loved going over to Trico Bar and Hole in The Wall for dinner and drinks! Rosina took us on an island tour and it was one of our favorite days in Roatan. She and Sonny are so friendly and have so much love for the island to share with their guests. Highly recommend this stay to anyone looking for a relaxing trip to paradise with all the comforts of home. We felt extremely safe and well taken care of. We will definitely be back and look forward to fishing for the big snapper with Sonny!

Very nice comfortable house with every amenity you would need. A wonderful deck overlooking the bay where we could relax and see different fish, lobsters and rays swim below. Great time kayaking and using the motor boat to go through the mangroves, tour the bay and coastline and go to the different restaurants. We even had pizza delivered right to our dock. Sonny and Rosina were great hosts always right there with any needs we had. We enjoyed watching, holding and feeding their many pets: monkeys, parrots, toucans, etc. This is our second time spending time here and we will definitely be back.

My girlfriend and I spent 5 days with Rosina and Sonny. Their accommodations are well appointed. We had everything and more to make our stay enjoyable. Be sure to read the guest book. It is full of things to do and when things happen in the bay. Don't wait until the last day to find out about the pool at Trico's, which by the way is a great place to eat and visit. Rosina is the best. We had a day out in the West End and were able to do all the city things and then get back to the quiet of the bay. I feel rested and rejuvenated and was very sad to go back home. PS Bring bug spray for when the winds calm.
Thank you Rosina!

We had a fabulous time with our great friendly informative hosts Sonny and Rosina. We had everything we could possibly want or need in the Flamingo cabin. We enjoyed snorkeling, swimming, and kayaking right out in front of the cabin. We had a great day horseback riding not too far away that Rosina took us too. We enjoyed a couple of days in the motorboat provided traveling around the area and through the mangroves. We will definitely be back!

I have rented many many places over the last 35 yrs. This place is unique. The Hillview cottages will SLOW you down, take you back, draw you in.....
Yet there is still plenty to do.
If these are your interests, this property is for you: boating, and exploring by boat, kayaking, swimming, diving, snorkeling, fishing, lounging in a hammock, star gazing, reading on a deck in the sun or shade with gentle ocean breezes.
The Hole in the Wall restaurant is just a kayak away, or they will pick you up. MUST NOT MISS.
Trico’s restaurant is also in the bay.
There are multiple eating options in the bay next to Jonesville. It’s all very easy access by boat. Many have local entertainment afternoons frequented by expats. The owners are always near by to assist with your daily questions. They have a few very well behaved dogs and some interesting caged pets throughout their lovely yard. Our stay was enlightening, and captivating. We will never forget the sounds of the ocean waves lapping under our bed as we drifted off to sleep each night.
Thank you so much Sonny and Rosina!
Bless Up!

My husband and I stayed at the Flamingo cabin during Christmas and New Years. The Flamingo cabin lived up to its description and prior reviews. Rosina was always responsive in responding to inquiries regarding the property. Coordinating our arrival, even if a day late (unexpected flight delays resulted in missing connecting flights) with Rosina was easy. In fact, because of the delay in our arrival, we had decided to stay extra days if the property was available. And to our surprise and delight, it was, which allowed us another 5 lovely days on the island and in the cabin. We needed help in figuring out how to get warm and hot water in the shower, which was remediated the first morning by Sonny.
Renting one of their small motor boats was the best way to enjoy the surrounding areas. It allowed us the freedom to come and go at our leisure. Availability of all the other water toys, kayaks and snorkeling gear, was fantastic. We took one of Rosina's tours out to West End and West Bay and surrounding towns for the day. That was a great way to see that more tourist part of the island. Rosina and Sonny were always helpful in answering questions and providing suggestions during our stay. The first couple of days we hadn't yet rented the motor boat, but with the ocean at our front door, we had plenty to keep us entertained. We took advantage of the two local restaurants, Hole in the Wall and Trico's, that would come pick us up for dinner and bring us back when we were done. All other places visited were friendly and fun. The local cell phone Rosina provided with pre-programmed numbers, making local calls was easy. The stop by the market on our way to the cabin was thoughtful so we could stock up on needed supplies for meals. My husband enjoyed diving at the Reef House and we both enjoyed snorkeling at various stops during our exploration in the little motor boat. It was a very relaxing holiday and I would not hesitate to stay again should we get back to Roatan and would recommend the cabins to friends and family.

My wife and I stayed at the Flamingo Cabin for a week. What a wonderful experience. So much so, we booked our next visit before we left. The cabin is located in a secluded bight (what the locals call an inland bay) in the South Central part of the island. The cabin is very clean and has everything you need. Only accessible by boat which really makes the experience fun, romantic, and secluded. Rosina takes care of your every need from the minute you arrive at the airport until she drops you off there at the end of your trip. She brings you to the store on the way to the cabin and helps you settle in. Anything we needed she took care of for us. Below are some of the things you should consider doing while there. 1) Rent a boat from Rosina. It's the best way to get around and explore the area. The price is more than reasonable. 2) Visit the local restaurants/hang outs. Hole in the Wall, Trico's, Reef House, BJ's on Friday night. 3) Do an island tour with Rosina. She knows everything about the island and can customize your tour based on what you want to see and do. There are many things to do such as visiting the more "touristy" west side, or you can go zip lining and visit some of the animal sanctuaries. 3) Book a fishing trip. Although you can catch fish from the dock and take your boat rental and fish on your own, Rosina can hook you up with a professional to take you fishing. Corey Thompson with Roaton Reel Addiction Charters is "Da Man!!" We caught Makeral, Barracuda, Snapper, several species of Jacks, etc.. What a vacation!!! Too much to write in a single review. My wife and I have vacationed all over the North America, Caribbean, Central America, including a wonderful trip to Belize. This is by far our favorite. Thank you Rosina for everything!! It was perfect!!!

We recently stayed at Flamingo cabin for two weeks. It was everything we expected and more. Rosina and family took us in on day one and we immediately felt like being home. I cant say enough about Rosina and the girls and how they looked after us. The Flamingo cabin is located in the perfect spot in Jonesville Bight , fantastic view . We spent our days exploring in the small boat that is available to rent , fishing , snorkeling and swimming . We dove on the other side of the island with Subway Watersports. They are a top notch operation. They have nice dive boats , good safe DMs and took us some excellent dives. It seemed like our two weeks flew by , but we enjoyed every minute of it , especially our time at Flamingo Cabin. Thanks Jones family. See you again. Sean& Linda

If you are looking for a quiet, relaxing get away, the Flamingo Cabin is a great choice. Endless water views, great local food and drinks, and even snorkeling gear and kayaks to use if you are feeling adventurous. This is about as far as you can get from the cruise crowds. Highly recommend.

Rosina picked us up from the airport, took us to the grocery store, and then took us to the property via car, then boat. It was accessible, as it says, by boat only, and that added to our adventure. We were tucked away in a bight, and enjoyed the birding from our porch.
The property is well cared for and very comfortable. The family is on site to help with anything you might need. We ate at a local restaurant we reached by boat, and rented their small boat while we were there. My husband and I really enjoyed this peaceful vacation

We loved our week at the Hillview Cabins. Rosina is a warm and thoughtful host and works to make your stay comfortable and fun. As other reviews have pointed out, she picks you up at the airport, provides you with a local mobile phone so that you can call her when needed, stops at the grocery on the drive to the cabins, and gets you to the airport on time if needed. We rented a car, which we found helpful, but there were several days that we never used it.
We also rented a dingy and enjoyed touring the local bays, especially the Mangrove Tunnels, which are very close. We used the kayaks almost daily and loved touring the Jonesville Bay. Meals were frequently at The Blue Mermaid, Hole in the Wall, and Trico. Kim & Tony at The Blue Mermaid cook a phenomenal meal and aim to please. Highly recommended. And you simply must meet Ed at Hole in the Wall! He is a character not to be missed.
The cabins are not in the main tourist area of Roatan, and that is exactly what we wanted. Very relaxing and beautiful. If we go back we will definitely spend more time exploring this beautiful east end of the Island. The cabin itself is comfortable and had everything that we needed. Please do yourself a favor and get Rosina to take you on a tour of the East End. Her local knowledge is priceless.
We hope you enjoy your stay as much as we did.

If you are looking for a relaxing, beautiful ocean view, front porch sitting, cabin in the Roatan, the Flamingo or Mermaid is it. Sonny and Rosina are amazing VBRO hosts, the cabin was perfectly stocked with everyhing we needed, they took us Eldons when we needed to go(there is a grocery right across the bay from the cabin), Rosina took us to the West End, and on an amazing excursion to Punta Gorda. The Jones family is wonderful all the way around, we traveled with our 6 year old son, we spoke with Mrs Rosina about a babysitter a for a few days and she allowed her awesome daughter, who was amazing with our Son and reasonably priced. We did rent a boat for the month while we were there, we went fishing, snorkeling, swimming, etc from the boat and dock located at the cabins. The Flamingo Cabin is in a great location for the Hole in the Wall, Trico Bar & Grill, Happy Landing (some of the best hot wings ever!), and the Reef House for some amazing diving! We did book an excursion with Mrs Rosina to go Zip lining and to the Animal park on the west end (the Animal Park had sloths, monkeys, parrots, and so many other animals, must do while you are there). Overall we highly recommend this cabin, we stayed for a month in the Flamingo and will be back next year!

My wife and I stayed at the Flamingo cabin from June 20-23, and this ranks as our best VRBO experience to date. The cabin owner, Rosina J., was born for hosting and goes the extra mile in everything she does (without being intrusive). This cabin is water access only though just a 2 minute boat ride from where you can park your car or call a cab. She was fully available to us to shuttle us back and forth as we required, but the cabin and views are so incredible, we suggest that you settle in and enjoy a few days in the vicinity of the cabin. (If you know how to drive a small boat, there is one available at the cabin for rent for $20 per day.) There are two restaurants nearby, Trico’s and Hole in the Wall, that will come and get you by boat and bring you back after happy hour or a meal. We preferred Trico’s (we recommend the lobster nachos) though Hole in the Wall is a fun place to see (see Trip Advisor for more info on Hole in the Wall).
The cabin is well stocked, including TP, paper towel, dish soap, bathroom soap/shampoo, washing detergent (for clothes washer) so it is really ready to go except for groceries. Rosina takes you to the grocery store in French Harbour on the way from airport/ferry, allowing you all the time you need. (As an aside, there is also a small shop located near the cabin; Rosina will drive you to if you forget some essential.)
The cabin is beautiful; its outstanding feature is the very large covered porch/deck with the 180 degree views! Sit back and enjoy the view and breezes! The cabin also comes with kayaks. One of the most fabulous outings we did on Roatan was kayaking through the mangroves near Flamingo cabin. We kayaked for 2 hours through the mangroves and around the bight. AWESOME!
Rosina also runs a tour business called Hillview Tours. We took advantage of that and booked an all-day tour of the island with her on our 2nd day. She is an “islander” with deep knowledge and fun facts about the island. I thought a full-day would be way too much and initially asked for ½ day, but as we finished up our half-day, we wanted more time and asked her to continue for the full day. It was a fabulous orientation to the island, and helped us to see and understand all of the nooks and crannies (and there are many). Based on our tour, we were able to better plan and prioritize our entire visit to Roatan.
