About this cottage rental
Enjoy the great outdoors in rustic North Idaho. This adorable cottage on the East End of Lake Coeur d’Alene has everything you need for a great Vacation adventure.
Located just 17.5 miles (by road) to CdA and 4 miles by boat, you are just minutes from world-class golf, great mountain biking, hiking, boating, sailing, eagle watching and so much more. Enjoy your own private beach and dock or use the lake as your playground.
The fully equipped kitchen can accommodate several cooks at the same time. There are beautiful views from picture windows in living areas and front two bedrooms. The sunsets are often a picture postcard. It is a place where you can truly relax and refresh your soul.
Unfortunatly We must maintain a strict one dog policy, must be a small or medium size dog, no puppies. No exceptions.
Please be aware of the following "features" that may impact your decision to stay at our cottage:
* There are approx. 130 steps on the hillside trail from the parking area to the house. We recommend bringing or renting a boat for easier access and more FUN!
* The serpentine gravel driveway is steep. It was engineered and permitted per county code, but it may be difficult for some vehicles and drivers. 4WD/AWD is recommended. Look it over when you arrive and park at the top if you are not comfortable with it. Don’t even think about going down with a trailer.
* The house is on a lake-water system. We have the UV filter system tested periodically (latest report posted in cottage) , but we can't guarantee it's effectiveness. We are comfortable drinking it, but it it concerns you please bring drinking water.
* The bedrooms have open partition walls under a cathedral ceiling. Bring earplugs if anyone in your party snores.
* The 2nd bathroom is in the detached deckhouse. Very convenient for showering after playing in the lake, but not so great for late-night visits.

The cottage is very well maintained, stocked, and appointed, and the location is magnificent! The owners responded to all questions promptly and provided good advice, especially with regard to access.
The dock is nicely located and strong for boating, and we took full advantage of that by renting a pontoon boat. The four adults and two kids had a great time with paddle boards, the paddle boat, and being towed around the lake behind the pontoon boat. We also anchored in a small cove and had a swell time swimming among many others doing the same!
While the land-access stairway looks daunting, it is well-maintained and the strong railing makes it very manageable, even for me at 70 years old. Multiple decks and chairs make for relaxing times by the water.
This is a place we would love to come back to again!

Was a fun spot! They were fully transparent with the steps and parking. We had a great time!

Gorgeous views, amazing sunsets and sunrise, perfect private access to the lake.
Access to the cottage is a bit challenging if you are not in shape.
Inside the cottage, there are numerous labels to indicate what is in a drawer, or for instructions, that was quite helpful, need another label on dishwasher to inform that the door is broken and to avoid surprise.
The cottage is old but that is fine; just make sure to check diligently everything including the inside of the oven: after 7 days at that place, we noticed white powder dropping onto our food that was cooking in the oven. We checked the inside of the oven and the top part still had oven cleaner on! We contacted the host to request that someone should come to finish cleaning the oven and in the same time the individual fans as they were quite dusty, and we couldn’t use them. The owner responded that mid stay cleaning was not provided, and that we should find new accommodations that meet our standards….

Our family of 5 and 1 lil Golden Doodle had an amazing time at the cottage. The view, beauty, and serenity of the area was perfect! We are a fit family so had no problems with the 130 stairs, but thy do need to be considered by visitors. Its a steep incline. Carting heavy luggage could be an issue. The house appliances and furniture are dated, but the beds we’re comfortable….and the view from every room is amazing! The little yard and dock were a highlight! We parked jet skis on the dock and spent so much time hanging out and swimming! The TV and internet worked and the owners were accessible!!! Check in was easy! Make sure to rent 4WD or AWD for driveway! Thanks for the stay Blevins!!!! You own a little slice of paradise! We hope to come again and the muffins you left were a treat!

Second time staying . Had a great time enjoying the lake and family

We thoroughly enjoyed this property and location on the lake. This is our second summer renting a lakefront home as a group of three families. It was spacious, clean, and provided everyone with plenty to do. The location was awesome, making it easy to rent a pontoon boat in town and having gas for it nearby. The hosts communicated clearly and inquired about our plans ahead of time so they could understand how best to help make our trip a good time. Wonderful all around!

The house was very clean and nice. It has beautiful views and accommodated 5 adults and 3 children without feeling cramped at all. We had an excellent time boating and paddle boarding …. Only downfall would be the stairs, but we were able to manage them and so were my 3 children

Everything from dealing with the owners to the last cup of coffee before leaving was amazing. We always have a good time in Coeur d’ Alene but this one was special because my parents celebrated their 55th anniversary with us. Will definitely be back at this property.

The property could use some updating with regard to stairs and house, but the location and view are absolutely beautiful. Dock is perfect and safe. We enjoyed the available board games and relaxing visit.

Lake getaway
We are from Phoenix and it was so nice to be in the cool trees and gorgeous lake. The home and furnishings is dated but has everything you need for an amazing time.

Very nice Lake Home with private dock and lawn area.
The home is nice. Be informed that there are over 120 stair steps to get to the front door. If you have back or leg issues this is not the house for you.
Once you get down the stairs the home is great. It sits at waters edge and the lake is beautiful.
You will find everything you need ( and then some ) in the kitchen. Plenty of towels and a washer/dryer.
I would return again to this home but I would pack lighter.

Family time
I recommend the lake cabin. Private deck, quite location with beautiful view. Stairs are little bit challenging at the beginning but you can get used to that quickly unless you have trouble with walking.
Great time, I wish to come return.
Thank you for taking care of the property before we came. Very clean, and well maintained.

Take a step back in time
Get ready to relax in this adorable lake cabin! The stairs are no joke, but its ok because once you get there you won’t want to leave. It reminded me of staying at my grandmas house as a child. We loved fishing of the dock and took the advice off the coffee cups and jumped in the lake every chance we got. Thank you for the muffins it was nice and needed after a long drive!

Cottage off of Eddyvile Road
Comfortable cottage with plenty for families to do. The only two negatives are the open ceilings on upper level (which means everyone must be quiet or else others will have hear their conversations or be awakened). Since the bedrooms are on the upper level, some very hot days will result in the bedrooms taking longer to cool off at night, even using fans. Also, the stairway is very steep and could be challenging for those who are not physically fit. If we have a boat (we brought our two jet skis), we would have transported heaviest items on the boat thus avoiding the stairway. Nonetheless, we really enjoyed ourselves in spite of these issues!!

Very beautiful location on an amazing lake.
We really enjoyed our stay and the amenities.
Th place is older but everything was clean and worked properly.
It’s definitely a place you get to and then stay at. The road in, parking and 131 stairs were a challenge but were worth it.
Once we figured out the boat doc we really enjoyed that too. Felt that the boat was safe and secure. The doc was easy to reach and wide for easy access to the boat.
We would stay here again.

Ideal family Fourth of July
We had an amazing stay over Fourth of July weekend. The house was amazingly well stocked to meet all of our needs. We had the best time in the water, swimming off the dock, and boating all weekend. The amazing fireworks show topped off an ideal family vacation at the lake.

Great place on the water
We had a great time at this house. The property has a great layout. The multiple outside decks have great views. We had perfect weather with warm days and cool nights. There was plenty of seating outside and inside. There was a great collection of DVD’s but we weren’t smart enough to make them work. We did have a little bit of a problem with the older electric stove. We tried to do a seafood boil and the burners on the stove were not strong enough to handle it. As is mentioned in the description the walls do not go all the way to the ceiling so you can hear other sleepers in the house. This was not a big deal for us. We had a lot of fun saying good night to each other after we were all in our own rooms. This place is definitely easier to access from the water as the stairs are quite long and steep. If you are getting a boat I would suggest getting the boat to ferry your stuff to the house instead of hauling it down the stairs.Overall we had a very delightful five days and came away with many wonderful memories

Beautiful, relaxing lakefront property.
Quiet, peaceful, relaxing. We were in the area to attend our sons University Of Idaho Commencement ceremony. Perfect place for a family celebration weekend. Home was well stocked with a lot of extra linens and towels. Kitchen well stocked. Enjoyed our stay very much!

Wonderful Stay!
This is a great place to stay! We really enjoyed this home. Such a beautiful location. The hosts are so sweet. They left us the most yummy muffins as a welcome treat. Such a nice gesture. They also called to check on us and make sure everything was ok.
We were warned about the stairs leading down to the property. However, They aren’t bad at all! They are great exercise. I’m nearly 60 and they were no trouble. The driveway for my giant car was more challenging but it handled it all very well in the end.
The dock and grass area on the water are so nice to have. Gorgeous views. We loved using the fire pit and roasting s’mores. Firewood was left for us. The paddle boat was super fun to putz around in. We enjoyed jumping off the dock into the refreshing water. Reserve a boat ahead of time if you want to rent and keep one here! It was so busy and we didn’t think ahead so we couldn’t get one.
The place is comfortable and had everything we needed for a relaxing and lovely stay. It’s not fancy but we liked the casualness and it was very comfortable for us. Perfect for us for a lovely vacation. The 2nd bathroom is outside but it worked well and wasn’t an issue for us. We would recommend staying here and we would Definitely stay here again.
Thank you Anna and David!

Family lake vacation
Great view. Loved having a small grassy area and not lots of steps down to dock. We spent most of our time on the boat out in the water. Owner was easy to communicate with and we enjoyed our stay.

Beautiful!
This home and the host are awesome. The home is very comfortable and relaxing!! and of course you cant beat the views and amenities. Everything was up to par or better. The host were very accommodating.
For us being on motorcycles the biggest issue was the serpentine driveway. If you are on motorcycles park up top before you venture down. Also be aware that the walls do not hit ceiling so if you have a snorer in your group you may want to make them sleep on the dock like we did lol.
Most houses have lot of stairs here so we were prepared for them and not bothered.
Would highly recommend! thanks for a great stay!

Fun place to stay
The cabin was lovely for our family. We were a bit skeptical about the bathroom in the boathouse, however it was not an issue and was simply right outside the kitchen door. The stairs (133 to be exact) were steep, but werent too bad trying to pack things up. (And I'm 8 months pregnant). We had a blast, made many wonderful memories and would stay here again😀

Peaceful, beautiful, relaxing
Great time with family! House is so close to the lake you wake up to amazing views. Boating most of your things in makes for an easier trip than using the stairs. Would definitely rent there again.

Great location
We had a really relaxing time, and the house worked well for us. The location is beautiful! The only drawbacks are the stairs to the property (best to pack in/pack out via boat) and the fact that there are no curtains covering the upper windows (bring eye shades if you do t want to wake up won’t the sun).

Wild turkeys, deer aplenty, and a gorgeous view.
We spent ten days at the property and had a marvelous time. The accommodations were splendid with the exception of the beds' very uncomfortable. Additionally the walls do not reach to the ceiling between rooms so there is no privacy at all. The dock, balconies from the rooms were beautifully situated. The owner called me the night of our arrival to check in, a nice touch. We viewed wild turkeys and deer on each walk a great treat for granddaughters. Overall with the sleeping issues exception , a great experience.

Family Vaca
We really fell in love with the Blevins Cottage. My husband kept saying “Let’s buy it!” LOL!!
Beautiful property, the kids and adults had a blast! The beds were comfy, the house was welcoming, the kitchen had everything we needed. The stairs were a bit of a challenge after doing the Hiawatha Trail and being quite sore, but we managed! Only complaint was the weather didn’t cooperate but again, we powered through! Thanks Blevins family!!
