About this house rental
Welcome to Billie's Lake House! A classic lake house with the modern amenities you need to feel most at home and endless opportunities for as much fun or quiet as you desire! Come fish, swim, kayak, grill, or work on your laptop while surrounded by the unmatched beauty of Northern Idaho. We can't wait to have you!
A typical summer day for our family at "the cabin" is to wake up to views of a glassy smooth lake, make a cup or four of coffee and maybe go sit on the dock to watch the swallows skimming the water for their breakfast while the occasional morning kayaker glides by. The rest of the day is usually a whirlwind of swimming, eating together, playing board games, and sunbathing, with a possible alcoholic beverage here or there, but I will not confirm or deny such a thing. We are also often found lounging on the front patio, damp from our swim, watching ospreys and great blue herons flying above, while a scattering of fellow lake-goers whiz by on skis or float by in their small fishing boats patiently awaiting a bite. We eventually gather around the kitchen table to eat dinner and share stories from the day, some of us still in our swimsuits, while we watch the sunset and clear our plates. After dinner, you'll find us fishing off the dock, maybe watching a movie as a family, or leisurely cleaning up after our long easy day at the lake. We also end every night at the cabin with a bowl of ice cream. Yes, every night. You don't have to do this, but we'd highly recommend it.
If you’re not coming for swimming and fishing, but just want a beautiful, pristinely peaceful place to work from, our cabin is also very much for you. Even if you never go outside, you will be able to see the entire scope of the lake, the mountains, the birds, the fishermen, and the whole of lake life from any seat in the living room or kitchen. If you want to go outside but want fewer distractions, you can utilize our upstairs deck and do your work a little closer to the trees while not missing an inch of our incredible scenery.
House Amenities:
At Billie's Lake House, you'll get the rustic experience of being in a cabin that has been the jewel of our family for over 70 years, but with all of the modern amenities you'd desire in any place you stay. The main bathroom and kitchen have been completely remodeled in the last 5 years, we have new wifi, a brand new smart tv, and a bluetooth surround system. While cell service can be a little inconsistent at the cabin, we do have a landline in case of emergency (make sure to teach anyone under 30 how to use this ancient technology). The open floor plan in the main living area makes family time at the cabin feel effortless and cozy while there are still many pockets of the house to tuck away to for a little quiet time and privacy. While we can accommodate 10 at full capacity, we charge an additional $20 for every person after 6 people. There are also no pets allowed, unfortunately. Inside and outside.
Outdoor Amenities:
You have your own private sandy beach steps from the house, your own private dock, THREE patios to choose from, a nice sized lawn in the front and back of the house, on site parking, kayaks and water toys, fishing gear, snorkeling gear, and life jackets! Not to mention the brand new grill in the backyard! Don't miss the remote controlled retractable awning in the front, either. The sunsets are epic in our little corner of the lake, but it's nice to be able to enjoy them from the shade sometimes.
You are surrounded by beautiful wildlife here. We have ducks, geese, bald eagles, ospreys, hummingbirds, great blue herons and more of the avian variety! (We're a family of bird-nerds.) There are chipmunks, deer, moose, and there was a black bear in a tree in the backyard once about 30 years ago. It was very exciting, but not a creature we anticipate ever seeing again. In the lake we have sunfish, largemouth bass, trout, catfish, and turtles. The sunfish may curiously nip at your feet when you're in the water, but will cause you no harm. We also have bats at night, which are fun to watch zip through the dark, but they're looking for bugs, not you, so no need to worry about a calculated attack.
Shopping etc:
While the cabin itself is quite isolated, there is plenty of shopping within a short drive. Within 10 minutes, you can get to a Super-1 grocery store, a Bi-Mart, a hardware store, McDonalds, coffee stands, liquor store, post office, etc. If you need more options, you can get to a Walmart and a Starbucks, among other big name stores, within a 30 minute drive.
We are so excited to share such a beautiful place with our guests and look forward to hearing from you!

The lake and beach make for a perfectly relaxing place to stay, play, paddle, swim, and fish. I came with a large family in early August, and the house accommodated us very well. The house is not fancy, but it has great charm and is very functional. The heat pump in the main areas upstairs and downstairs provide cooling, though it takes a bit of planning to make sure that cold air gets pushed to the back rooms on hot days. The house is on a limited septic system, so we heeded owner's advice to conserve water with a large group and did not have any issues. Because the lake is a bit off the beaten path, it isn't swarming with ski boats and stays very peaceful. There are gobs of floaties for bobbing around on the lake, two adult kayaks, one child's kayak, fishing gear, life jackets, and other beach toys. It was truly a wonderful place to stay.

I stayed here with my kids and grandkids - there were 4 adults and 3 kids. The set up of the house was perfect for us. And the outside area was even better! We loved having a covered porch, a grassy area and a sandy beach - plus a great dock! The place was well stocked, clean and comfortable. Check-in and communication were easy!

This place was amazing! The view is the best on the lake. There was plenty of room for our family. Husband and I slept on the twin beds, which was okay. Would’ve rather had a queen in there as well, but we didn’t mind for the location and the lake! We can’t wait to go back!

Great place to stay and relax on the water! Quiet neighborhood and beautiful views! We rented jet skis from golden watersports for two of the days. And all the floaties and kayaks were awesome too! Thank you so much for sharing!!

This lake home is what we would have if we owned one. Convenient location, amazing views, dozens of bird species, clean clear water, surround a home that is super clean and so well-appointed. Everything we needed was there, and more! And the neighbors were sweet and friendly, too.

A Lakeside Gem
On the inside, it was very clean, however, most notable is the organized, no clutter, kitchen and other cabinet drawers. Each has only what the rental has to provide, and no unnecessary left overs from previous occupants.
One the outside, there's plenty to see and do. Eagles, ospreys, ducks, and other wildlife, there is abundance to see and do. By far, the most pics we captured was the setting sun, albeit, we captured a few incoming storms that were amazing.

This was an absolutely lovely property with a homey feel. Our kids rated this their favorite vacation and vacation property!
We loved it. I was able to remotely work from the top floor, overlooking the lake while also able to see my children play in the water.

Amazing location
We had a wonderful week in a gorgeous setting with our family. The house was great for a small gathering. The beach was so lovely and we enjoyed the kayaks. We braved the seaweed and swam every day and Twin Lakes sure does a huge fourth of July celebration! What a great week, thanks for sharing your home Kathy.

Beautiful location
We really enjoyed our stay at this lakeside location! The cabin was well stocked - the kitchen had everything you could possibly think you might need! The water was cold but our girls were out everyday in the kayaks regardless. We loved watching the ducks on the lake and the the gorgeous sunrises and sunsets. It was a very relaxing and refreshing stay!

Peaceful Lake Getaway
What a lovely home on a beautiful lake! The house is comfortable, spacious, clean and well-stocked with everything a guest would need. You can tell it's a beloved family home that has been well-cared for. The view of the lake is amazing and was the main draw for me! Gorgeous sunsets and a couple afternoons swimming, floating and kayaking on the lake were exactly what we were looking for, and we were not disappointed! I can't wait to come back!

Charming lake house getaway!
From beginning to end, it was the perfect mini vacay ! This place had everything. Right on the lake with a sandy beach and dock for swimming, floaties
( Which we used the whole time in the bathwater temp lake),kayaks ( perfect place for using these, multiple lakes connected to explore ),lawn games, outdoor barbecue, and fully stocked house. You can easily go there with just your clothes and food and all else is provided. There's a town about ten min away for all things you've forgotten. The view from the upper deck and main level are breathtaking, plenty of room to spread out in this place. The wifi and cellphone service were solid for all of us staying there. The property owners were great, contacting us throughout stay to make sure all was good. Very nice neighbors on both sides who were helpful with tips on anything we needed to know. This property was only about 45 min north of Spokane, very easy drive and yet you're away from it all, we loved that ❤️We can't wait to find time to come back😊
