4 Shrimp and a Crab is a beautiful raised beach house in Surfside Beach, SC. Has 5 bedrooms and 5.5 bathrooms with 4 of the bedrooms having their own en suite bathrooms. Can sleep up to 12 people, being over 2000 square feet. Has elevator, private pool (heating available $300) ,and a golf cart provided for guest use. Has all the amenities you need to make this your home away from home. Convenient location that is close to beach, shopping, dining and local attractions. Please look at the pictures and videos, and read the reviews. Exterior repainted and stonework re-done in 2020. This house was very beautiful, clean, well equipped with anything you might need. Golf cart was a lifesaver and we were very happy with the elevator. Best of all was the owner’s hospitality and care for their guests!

Great place for a family vacation. We had enough space for everyone to spread out and relax to themselves as well as enough room to sit together in the living room or dining room. Pool was a plus. Very warm and enjoyable. Beaches were very close to walk or drive in the provided golf cart. Love it

The property was very clean and well kept. Nine adults were comfortable. We were a little disappointed with the view out back to the other properties, but obviously the owner cannot change that aspect. The complimentary golf cart was a big plus to move us and chairs to the beach, or nearby restaurants. We would definitely stay again if the opportunity presents itself.

This was our 2nd time staying at 4 Shrimp and a Crab, and it did not disappoint. We love the easy access to the beach and the amazing comfort of the pool. The house has so many nice extras, from a few spices in the cabinet, to lots of toys, to plenty of coffee filters! The house was a great launching pad for us to visit Murrell’s Inlet or to venture a little further to Mt. Atlanticus in Myrtle Beach for mini-golf. The many bedrooms with their own baths made it easy for us to accommodate everyone from kids to grandparents! Kathy and Steve are responsive and accommodating too—we definitely recommend their home!

4 Shrimp and a Crab provides a great home base to enjoy the beach and pool and all the amenities of Surfside. We especially enjoyed the boat tours of Murrell’s inlet and some exciting Putt-putt matches. The accommodations and pool were perfect for our family!

If you are looking for a place for your large/extended family, this is the place!! The house is well stocked with essentials to get you started! All bedrooms have a bathroom and the golf cart is great to shuffle people and chairs to/from the beach. The pool was perfect for days when we needed a break from the surf and sand. The beach itself, even at the height of summer, was largely uncrowded. Great place for families!

My friends and I stayed at 4 Shrimp and a Crab for my husband's 40th birthday. There are plenty of rooms and beds. The house is filled with everything you need. Kathy and Steve were available for any questions we had and even checked in with us to make sure everything was ok when we arrived. The beach was close and there are restaurants and bars within walking distance. You don't even have to walk though, because you have the golf cart! The boys had fun playing ping pong. I highly recommend this house. Already started spreading the word!

This property was amazing. The description does it no justice. The property managers/owners were delightful to work with. They answered any and all questions immediately. Almost felt like we were talking to friends. The elevator made moving our luggage to the top for effortless. The golf cart made the proximity to the beach and taking items with you no problem at all. Even the neighbors and community were great. I cannot say enough great things about this experience. We definitely look forward to traveling back to the area again and hope this house is available. We totally enjoyed our stay! The house is wonderful and was very well suited for our family gathering of 7. Kitchen was well stocked with dishes, pans etc. There were paper products to get us started and hand soap in all the bathrooms(5 full and one 1/2 bath). There were wraps and tin foil in the kitchen drawers. The house was very clean!
The golf cart was a plus to scoot around the neighborhood. We loved the pool and parking was easy!
The owners were very prompt answering any questions I had and very kindly checked in with us early in the week to make sure everything was to our liking and let us know to text them if we had any needs!
We would definitely return.

4 Shrimp and a Crab is short walk or golf cart ride to the beach, restaurants and shops. It’s in a quiet neighborhood with a relaxing private pool that we enjoyed very much. The house is modern, nicely decorated and clean. There are 4 en-suite bathrooms plus a full in the hall and a half bath downstairs. The kitchen has modern appliances and the cabinets are stocked. We had a wonderful vacation and this house was a perfect fit for our blended family vacation. Can’t wait to stay here again in the future.

Our family of 12 enjoyed our stay at 4 Shrimp and a Crab. The home is exceptionally clean and well stocked, although some of the cookware could use some updating. The internet/WiFi could probably use an update as well; the TV buffered and phones were slow to get a signal. The modest-sized pool was clean and a hit with the younger kids. The host was highly responsive and even gave us an excellent last-minute recommendation for a local photographer for family photos on the beach. It is located in a snug residential neighborhood so I don't recommend it to the outdoorsy, night-time, fun-loving crowd.

Steve & Kathy's home was perfect for our family vacation. Communication regarding check-in was excellent, along with additional communication during our stay. The house was fully equipped with everything we needed. Loved the rocking chairs on the front porch and the location. Perfect distance from the beach. The pool was an extra plus to go to after the beach. So nice that there were beach chairs for our use. We had an absolutely wonderul stay. Can't wait to return next year!

All of us really enjoyed our stay at 4 Shrimp and a Crab! Everything was clean and tidy and the policies were well written! The pool area was beautiful. We did not use any of the items in the little garage with the golf cart, except for the golf cart. Never used the elevator. Never made any meals at home, Neil & Pams Bar made such good food and we had their breakfast sandwiches 3 times! We wanted a reasonably priced place to hold all of us, and to not require renting a car....this was perfect! We enjoyed walking and seeing the neighborhood homes, going out for pizza, walking the beach and we went to the "Farmers Market" (not sure if that is the correct name for it in SC) on Thursday morning. We did an Uber to Broadway on the Beach one day and to Murrells Inlet another day. Highly recommend! Thank you from Wisconsin

Kathy and Steve were an absolute delight to deal with! We felt bad expressing the elevator issue but they had MULTIPLE people come within a day. They truly know how to run a beach house. The golf cart was so accommodating for my grandmother and the amenities are endless. We normally stay in Outsr Banks but couldn’t find a house to suit us, this house was 2k cheaper for a little longer drive. Don’t turn this house down, you won’t be disappointed!!!

Great Place to Stay
Had 12 staying in the house and didn't feel crowded at all. Plenty of places to hang out other than in the living room / kitchen areas. Short walk (5 min) to beach. Made use of the cart for hauling gear back and forth. Pool was a nice place to hang in the evenings. Recommend checking out local places to eat and drink up by the pier (currently under construction). Also highly recommend checking out strip of restaurants down in Murrells Inlet (look up Drunkin Jacks). Fun place to hang out and not nearly as crowded as going up to Myrtle Beach. This place is for a group that doesn't want to be in the middle of everything/everyone. We spent 1 day at the Boardwalk in Myrtle Beach and were thankful we chose to stay in Surfside.

We have thoroughly enjoyed our trip! The house was in a great location in a very quiet area. Very close to the beach and we enjoyed using the golf cart to take us there. The house had everything we needed, right down to the cinnamon we used in our French toast for breakfast. We all enjoyed the private pool as well. Couldn’t ask for any better. The elevator was GREAT for our parents and getting the luggage up and down. Will definitely be back!

My family and I had a very nice vacation. The house was clean, spacious and decorated beautifully. We had all the space we needed. This was our second time staying with Steve and Kathy. Their homes are are lovely and equipped with everything you could possibly need. We had to change our dates for our trip twice with absolutely no issues from the owners. They were easy to work with and made it happen. I would recommend their properties and Steve and Kathy. I plan to continue to book with them.

A Home away from home
We all have heard the phrase “there is no place like home” in many incidences this may be factual, however Kathy and Steve’s home (4 shrimp and a crab) is the rare exception. Kathy and Steve are remarkable host. Their love for their home and the concept of “family” is exhibited throughout this home. This particular home was increasingly warm and inviting. The home was well prepared for my family’s arrival. There were simple operational instructions provided for everything located in an easily accessible reference manual. Everything was clean and sanitary. Although, we did not utilize the pool, it was exceptionally clean with not even a single piece of debris floating around. All linen were clean, free of stains, and no indication of previous usage. Kathy and Steve set the bar extremely high for other vacation host. consequentially, the names Kathy and Steve will always be referenced whenever I book a vacation home. They definitely made our vacation one that we will definitely remember! I must add that I am NOT a paid reviewer just another satisfied guest who intends to book again!

Beautiful Place and Location
We have stayed at Steve and Kathy's other location, By The Pond, for the past several years and have absolutely loved it! This year, we needed a bigger place and decided to stay in one of their other locations, Shrimp and a Crab. This one did not disappoint. The house was absolutely beautiful and has been well maintained. It comes with everything that you need from all your kitchen utensils to beach chairs. Will definitely stay here again!
