Location is ideal for the showground and the A1 and the hosts are friendly and super helpful. Everything works how they say it will - which isn't always the case with some other properties - the key codes work and they are good people basically!
Nothing to do with Plough Retreat but the pub below could sort out their kitchen door that bangs every time a waiter goes in and out of the kitchen throughout service! Maybe a bit of WD40 perhaps? Not the fault of the Plough Retreat I hasten to add.

Located in a nice village. The pub downstairs was nice.
Host was very helpful and we were able to check in early to change before the wedding we were attending which was appreciated.
Our room was very basic. Needs some major TLC and attention. There are no carpets (vinyl floor) and it wasn’t particularly clean.
Very old bedding and towels that need replacing. The hand wash in the bathroom was empty.!!
No shampoo/conditioner which I would expect for £120 a night.
Very old fridge and toaster and a smattering of various plates and bits of cutlery were in the room but you need to take your own food.
No comfortable chairs / seating.
Budget accommodation not reflected in the price.

Free car park
Downstairs is a great pub
Spacious
Bad damp in the main entrance to the apartments but it didn't affect the apartment we stayed in

The bed settee for our daughter was horrendously uncomfortable. We took it in turns to lay ,not sleep, on it.
There were only two cups so we had to take it in turns to drink too!!

Comfortable and clean facilities in a perfect location for events at Newark Showground. Entry to the studio was easy with information provided. We didn't have to contact anyone, which suited us. We were easily able to pop back when required from the event. Would book again if attending the Showground.
We would have found a couple of dinner plates useful.

The location was good.
The accommodation was not very clean and seemed a bit warned out. For example the place needed a good vacuuming, the sofa was uncomfortable to sit on, the towel holder in the shower was loose (screws had come out), the TV remote was not operating efficiently (maybe batteries warned out).

The apartment was perfect for our requirements plus The Plough next door was superb with great meals and friendly helpful staff

location /parking/public house
doors on toilet /towel rail had come away from wall /lounge sofa bed very hard to relax sitting on

very clean
no staff present to welcome us, no staff on site at all in fact.

I liked the modern look and it was clean.
I liked the fact that there was very little noise from the pub below us.
We had a lovely meal too
The sofa bed wasn't very comfortable and the toilet area was a bit on the small side
Also, tv needs a fire stick or something for more choice on the channels
3.6
Location good
No lock on inside of door so felt insecure
Loud music til midnight
Heater broken, replacement heater had no instructions
Dirty toilet bowl

Excellent location and room, arrived late and left early so can't comment on staff or pub but arrival and check in was easy.
Little but noisy from the pub below but not really bad, we did stay on a Friday so prob noisier than most days.

Location, parking
The flat was freezing cold when we arrrived. No-one forewarned us that we would probably need to book a table for food in the pub. We were disappointed not to be able to eat on site and the girl who we spoke to about getting a table could not have cared less! We needed more than 1 teaspoon during our stay!

Location
Was a shambles from start to finish.
Couple ending up in a twin room?
Late checkout arranged only for staff to walk into our room unannouced while we were still in bed. Surely even if you think the room is empty its still polite to knock? My partner was left very shaken by this as feel as tho there was no real privacy.

Excellent location from the motorway.
We were a married couple and these were the issues we faced:
- Initially couldn’t get in to the room however when I rang Daniel this was sorted within fifteen minutes.
- I booked a double room and was given room 3 which had two single beds.
- One of the single beds had a mattress with many springs making it extremely uncomfortable. It was also lower than the other mattress so even when we pushed the beds together we were at different levels.
- The duvet of the second bed was old and very thin with wear that I was cold in the night. Eventually I gave up at 6am and I drove the 1hr 20 minute journey back to Leeds. Not ideal.
- There was only one bath towel even though there were two adults.
- After the drive there I would have liked a coffee however there was non only a few Teabags and some sugar but no milk. Had a black tea which I wasn’t impressed with.

Self catering but no welcome pack
Heating could have been switched on the room was freezing and took a long time to warm up

Perfect location to break our journey to Norfolk. The food and beer at the pub below was excellent.
Should have suggested we book a table for food at the pub as it was quite busy. Need a light at the front door so the key pad is more easily visible.
3.6
Nice location. Room was a good size and the bed was comfortable.
Couldn’t order food from the pub downstairs because they were ‘too busy’ but yet a couple were able to 10 minutes after. There were spiders and spider webs in every room.

I liked everything about this room. It was clean and tidy when we first arrived, the bed was super comfortable and it was a lovely place to stay on our weekend visit to Newark Showground's RetroFestival
There wasn't anything I didn't like. All of it was great.
3.6
Location was lovely. Rooms very spacious. Bathroom practical and nice.
The blinds in the bedroom let in a lot of light, so unfortunately as a light sleeper I was woken up by the sun at 5am.
3.6
Nice to have small kitchen area with fridge. Tea coffee and milk provided. Good to have pub on hand serving nice food at reasonable cost.
Nothing

perfect location whilst heading north for us , 2 minutes off A17 . very spacious and well equipped apartment, 2 lovely pub restaurants in walking distance, Great value
Road noise if you open windows, but as I would imagine it’s a old coaching inn what would expect !

The location to the Newark showground was excellent situated in a very pretty village.

Very good location for Newark Showground. Good car parking. Comfortable bed and new shower. Didn't hear any noise from the pub below.
Apart from the bed the furniture was rickety and worn out. The rug was dirty. The self-catering oven had not been cleaned for a long while and had old food in the oven trays and on the grill grid. The glasses supplied had not been washed and there was very little in the way of cutlery and plates. There was a tiny place to hang a coat but it was in a corner by the bedside table and impossible to reach. The vintage/worn out bathroom towels smelt of old kitchen oil - presumably dried by the pub's kitchen air-vent.
3.6
It was close to the event I needed to be.
Very unfortunate but the room had issues, such as: bed was uncomfortable as I could feel the springs; the bathroom smelt damp; the radiator in the bathroom did not work; the night stand was very wobbly and room 3, where we stayed, was above the bar which made sleeping difficult as bar closed at midnight (maybe other rooms are more quiet).
