It sits two streets back from the lake but just a short walk to the beach. You’ll have Lake views from the living room, back deck, and two out of the three balconies. The Community features: Two Tennis Courts, Basketball Courts, Volleyball, and lots of community actives throughout the summer. Don't worry about bringing beach supplies because we've got them! We provide beach towels, beach toys, chairs, and umbrella. We also have tennis balls and tennis rackets, basketball, and volleyball for all the sports people! We don't have cable but there is Wifi and Netflix on all five TV's. The large eat-in kitchen has everything you'll need during your stay - all you have to do is bring the food! The living room and dinning room area are spacious with plenty of room for everyone. The Billiards room on the main floor has a pool table and the Foosball Table and Ping Pong Table are in the basement. The Basement also has a bonus bedroom with a full bathroom and a second set of washer and dryer. The back deck right off the kitchen has chairs, fire pit, bar, gas grill, and a sink. It's the perfect place to spend those summer nights grilling out! We're less than 10 minutes to Huron and 10-15 minutes to Vermillion. If you're looking to go to Cedar Point its about a 20-30 minute drive from the house. The Perch is our favorite place to spend our time in the summer and we hope you come see why!

We normally vacation on the Outer Beaches of NC, but this year we decided to meet family members halfway and stay on the Lake. The Perch was perfect! The house has everything you could ask for to include, all the linens, cooking supplies, beach toys. The beds are made prior to our arrival and check out was easy. I personally parked our vehicle on Sunday and didn't move it until Friday. The beach was wonderful, a quick and easy walk from the house. The owners were responsive and very helpful. We hope to make it back soon.

The Perch was the perfect place for my family and I to meet up for an end-of-summer getaway.
Our growing family ranges in ages from 9 months to 60+ years, and the Perch offered us everything we needed and more.
The location is top notch, offering something for everyone in our group, whether it was games on the tennis and basketball courts all day, a two minute walk to the beach, or a quick trip to Cedar Point for the coaster enthusiasts.
The house itself is awesome, and particularly separates itself from other rentals with how well-stocked it is. There was need for nothing in the kitchen where we made breakfast, lunch, and dinner for 14 people each day. Likewise, the bed sheets, bath towels, and beach towels really made everything easier specifically for me, my wife and baby, as we flew in from New England and couldn’t bring every provision. There were also several baby and kids toys available, which all the kids played with more than their own!
Lastly, what really separates the Perch from other rentals is the hosts, Charles and Emma. We had more than a plethora of questions leading up to the stay and the first night of the stay while we were getting situated and they responded to absolutely everything immediately and couldn’t have been more helpful. They also let us check in more than an hour early, even though the cleaners were there that afternoon turning the house over from guests that checked out that morning.
Overall 10/10 rating, I HIGHLY recommend.

We had a wonderful weeklong vacation in this amazing home. We had everything we could possibly need and more. It was beyond perfect for our celebration. The location was great - near Cedar Point, Huron, Vermillion - grocery and drugstore nearby but old school family friendly neighborhood steps away from a beautiful private beach. We had 7 adults and 4 children ages 2-9. Plenty of room for all. Thank you Charles and Emma for our family vacation dream come true.

Our stay was GREAT, sorry for yelling, but it was GREAT! One Grandson had is birthday on 5 Jul and could not have asked for a better time. We spent time in Cleveland and saw the "Indians vs the Braves" at his request. Cedar Point, Lake Erie beaches, the neighborhood, how well the house was equipped with everything we needed and how well the house is built and maintained. This is a gem and would love to do it again.

All of the great things that the description and other reviewers say about this property and the hosts are true. Our extended family of 3 children and 8 adults ranging in age from 4 to 85 stayed for a week. Everyone had a wonderful time and wants to return. Hosts Emma and Charles are proactive, warm, and responsive. When the microwave stopped working we had a replacement from the storage room within 15 minutes of texting them - on a Sunday evening! A minor maintenance issue was fixed the next morning. The beach is a very short walk from the house. While it is relatively small, it is perfect for children, clean, nice sand, and waves to play in. It was almost empty during our stay. The house is large and very comfortable, with an amazing number of amenities and activities - a library with numerous books, games, puzzles, and a billiards table, ping pong and Foosball tables, drip and Keurig coffee machines, a food processor, a citrus squeezer(!), gas grill, fire pit, beach and recreation supplies including sand chairs and an amazing number of beach towels, two refrigerators, two sets of washers and driers, the list goes on and on. We also found many activities, restaurants, ice cream parlors, etc. in the area. This place, and the hosts, are very special. Highest recommendation. We will be back!

We had 10 adults in our family group, and we were very comfortable. Loved the big, comfy couch in the living room and open kitchen with two dining tables for family meals. The kitchen is nicely appointed, and the location was great. We had fun playing pickleball at the tennis courts, just steps away.

Owners are awesome to work with!
This is a beautiful home and all 15 of us had plenty of room. The grandkids loved the short walk to a very nice beach. We also went to Cedar Point two days and the drive was only about 20 minutes. The owners of the house were so easy to work with. We would stay there again for sure.

Perfect getaway for a large family!
We had a great time at The Perch! There was plenty of room for our family of 15 to eat play and sleep. The house was clean, full of natural light, and had all of the supplies needed to stay comfortably. Communication with the owners was easy and helpful. The beach was a short walk from the house and it was also convenient to have the tennis courts and basketball court so close. The owners were so kind and thoughtful, they even left a nice surprise for us upon arrival for my husband’s birthday! I would highly recommend staying at the perch!

Cousins Weekend
Our stay at the Perch Lake House could not have been better!! The property was everything advertised and more. The house was large, spacious and very clean!! Loved that we had four full baths for the 12 of us and they seemed like new baths! We played pool, sat outside and just generally felt very much at home. The owner was very easy to communicate with and had everything ready for us. Planning on staying there next year for cousins weekend and really looking forward to it. Thanks for everything Jessica!

Something for all ages
Very young grandkids were content to play for hours in sand and water at quiet private neighborhood beach. Teens enjoyed large house common area for board games and with Cedar Point just minutes away. Large kitchen and eating areas.

The Perch
Our family was very pleased with our stay at the Perch in Mitiwanga. We usually stay at another rental house in Mitiwanga, but as our family grows our need for more room grows. The “Perch” fits those needs. So much room for everyone. Well equipped kitchen with three coffee pots. The pool table was used by all. We also enjoyed a couple of evening fires on the back deck. We highly recommend your family give the “Perch” a try. You won’t be disappointed. -The Olden Family

Lake Erie vacation.
We had a great 3 day vacation here. It was conveniently located close to a boat ramp for fishing an within 15 min of two golf courses. There was a nice deck with a good sized grill that we used a couple times. Rooms were large an house was as advertised. Would certainly stay again.

Great retreat house
Took my team from work there to go To cedar point. Everyone loved the place. Clean, close to water, 20 mins from park.

We rented this house due to it's location roughly halfway between Chicago and DC for a small family get together. Even though we were there in the off season, we still had a great time. I think we actually liked it even more in the off season! We had the tennis court, basketball court, tether ball, and beach to ourselves - and the kids enjoyed playing in the sand and running around. The house was great and had plenty of bedrooms and space for us to relax and play board games and catch up.We found a nearby park called Faben Park that we enjoyed playing at one afternoon, and went into Vermilion for a stroll and some ice cream. We loved the location and may come back again when it is warm enough to swim!

Cherished Family Get-together
We were a family group of 15 and this home accommodated us very comfortably. The home was immaculate upon arrival and well stocked with necessities like paper towels, toilet paper, dish soap, etc. Meal preparation was easy in the large kitchen. The kids loved taking the short walk to the beach as well as playing at the basketball and tennis courts that were practically next door to the house. The owner was easy to communicate with and always timely. We hope to make this an annual meeting place. Thank you Jessica!

Large Group Summer Gathering
We had five families: 5 couples (10 adults and 13 kids) so we maxed out the capacity for this home. The gathering space inside & outside was fantastic. We played pool and ping pong and the girls had the bunk bed room which is a great set up for kids. The boys crashed in the family room which was not ideal but they rolled with it. We had four adults in the one big room with bunks and king bed and no one used the bed in the basement because it’s unfinished and mechanicals were noisy. Common area with tennis, basketball, volleyball is great for kids and adults and the beach/lake area is very small but very peaceful to sit and talk as a group and cool off in the water. Overall great house in nice area!

Lake house in Huron, OH
This was a great space for our extended family. There was plenty of room for us, and the huge kitchen let us enjoy cooking and eating meals together. There were some upkeep items, like many burned out light bulbs and a couple loose stair railings that need to be checked on and replaced/fixed. Overall a great place and we are considering booking it again.

Wonderful for Families
My extended family and I had a wonderful four-night stay. The house was comfortable and clean and there were many activities for kids of all ages. The kitchen was perfect for cooking and there was plenty of room for all 18 of us to eat together. We loved the pool table, the outdoor basketball and volleyball courts nearby, and the close proximity to the lake. Overall an excellent experience. We would definitely stay here again.

Nice property with a few issues
We had a very large group, which the house accommodated well. We found the house was well stocked with what was needed for the kitchen, bathrooms, and bedrooms. It looked as if the carpet was newer, which was nice since we had three children under 2 years of age. We loved the back staircase located in the butler's pantry as we had a baby gate at the main set of stairs. The butler pantry was so nice for our coolers and had plenty of cabinet space for the items we brought. The kitchen was large and had plenty of room for many helpers. The property description said you will have "great" lake views from the living room and back deck. This is not the case. The front porch had loose stair railing, and the rear deck was in need of cleaning, so we cleaned the back deck, grill, cabinets and chairs. We messaged the owner and the co-host said that it had been cleaned that same day we arrived, under her supervision. Trash was an issue. The garbage truck only picked up one garbage can the week we were there, and we had inherited two bags from the previous renters. When we left, there we four trash cans full. In case you have persons with walking issues, access to the beach can be difficult, because of a steep hill that has to be navigated. There were steps farther down the beach, but too far for our two adults who cannot walk longer distances. Communication was pretty good once we recognized that messaging on the app was the manager's preference, rather than a phone call. Overall, we enjoyed our time together and the house met our needs. Thank you!

Great Place for a Large Family
We enjoyed our stay very much and hope to do again next year. The house arrangement and property location was perfect for our family of 17 (including 7 grandkids ages 3-24) with plenty of options from quiet beach time with the little ones to nearby amusements for the older kids. The kitchen was very well equipped and the case of cold bottled water waiting for us in the frig was a nice touch. (The kitchen could use a large roasting pot or slow cooker.) The house was very clean and the 5 bedrooms on the 2nd and 3rd floors (plus bedroom in basement) gave everyone a bed and even some privacy. Washers and dryers on the 2nd floor and basement really helped in getting all the towels and personal items laundered. Enjoyed the deck for grilling and the firepit for making somemores for the kids (and adults).

Perfect for our family vacation
We had 8 kids (4,4,8,8,10,11,14,16) and 8 adults and this was a great fit for us. We played kickball, wiggle ball, soccer and basketball in the small, private community park (we brought our own sport gear). We did this when we weren’t swimming in the lake or at cedar point. It was great to have the towels, sheets and all the kitchen stuff we needed at our finger tips. Even had a hair dryer! Small grocery store within 3 minutes away and a dollar general within 5. Cute ice cream shop in vermillion just 10 minutes away.

Second Year
Fully accommodated our family get together with room to spare for our second year here in a row.
Especially appreciated the addition of the ping pong table (my favorite sport) Unusually good set of paddles provided, even though I brought my own 60 year old favorite. We also got to use the close proximity to Huron Nickel Plate beach and the local beach. The ladies picked bags of beach glass and special stones. With mid week weather accommodating, Goofy Golf and Cedar Point were only 20 minutes away. Used the Huron Pizza, Grocery store, DQ, and Drug Mart only 10 minutes away. This Grandpa even joined a tennis challenge for a while. The extensive set of WII equipment got a good workout during the wet times and evenings. No counting the games of pool with most everyone participating. We are already talking about returning next year. Couldn't find a better place for our family to spend a week together.

Memorial weekend
its a greet place which can accommodate a lot of people as long as they dont have cars. Parking was a huge issue for us and the people across the street were very angry at us. The kitchen counters are due for an update as well as the pots and pans and the back patio is a mess. The shades are all broken and the ones in the master are useless unless you like to get up at sunrise. We were surprised that there was no cable TV, only internet and the basement bedroom floors are concrete and ice cold. The little area rug is the size of the bed. The twin bed room on the 3rd floor was very hot but other than that we had a great time. Also when we mentioned a small problem to Jessica, she fixed it immediately.
