We really enjoyed our stay. The location was terrific. The grandchildren were across the street from playgrounds and Pickleball, the beach was a very short walk away, and the main street of Manzanita with ice cream and groceries was very close. It’s a cozy place on a quiet street.

We had not been away for much since 2015 as we have horses and a small farm. We enjoyed relaxing at the Play Chalet. However our stay was cut short due to an emergency with our old horse, and had to leave in a hurry early Friday morning. We appreciated Meredith Lodging checking us out by phone call. We had to put our old horse down so that was a sad ending to our long-awaited vacation.

This is our second stay at The Play Chalet and it does not disappoint. The kitchen has been remodeled and is very well appointed. The layout is perfect for couples and for families as well. The location is great - two blocks to the beach, a bit farther into town, very close to a playground. We will continue to stay at this home when we visit Manzanita!

Overall we had a lovely time! Location is great, close to the beach, park and a short walk into town. We struggled to all sit together in the living room as there were not enough seats but all in all a sweet, simple place to spend a weekend. Thanks for having us!

Was in Portland for a work trip but beautiful weather on the coast meant heading to the beach for a quick trip! Our group had a variety of ages (pre-teen, middle age adults, and elderly) and it was just perfect for us. Easy to walk to the beach and downtown Manzanita, enough sleeping spaces, and games galore. We really enjoyed our stay in this house! It is set right in a neighborhood in Manzanita, with a park (tennis, volleyball, play structure, picnic area) right across the street. It is a bit difficult to make out the layout of the house from the photos, but it is quite spacious. There is a vaulted living/dining/kitchen area, with a stairway that leads to an open loft w/queen & 2 single beds + lots of play area & games for kids (and a 1/2 bath). There is a hallway leading from the living area to a bedroom w/a king, and a full bath, and at the end of the hall you step down into a very spacious bedroom w/a queen bed, seating area, separate bath & kitchen countertop w/sink & cabinets. There is an L-shaped deck which we used a lot - and walk about 3 blocks, to a beach access trail. Overall, everything we needed! I highly recommend.

Incredible property for young kids. It was two moms of young kids and a grandma enjoying a mid-week escape to the beach. The play loft was magical. Location was perfect for little legs.

Location is perfect. Across the street from a park for kids to play. Very short walk to the beach. And walking distance to the main street for coffee, restaurants and shops. Kitchen is nice of you like to cook. Lots of books, games and puzzles are available. Very relaxing.

The Alps of the PNW
This charming Chalet was the perfect place for our family to relax and connect. It had all the amenities of home and gave us the ability to cook and celebrate our special occasions. There is a park across the street which was a great place for the kids to go play during our down time. It was also close enough to many things we wanted to go explore. Hug point, Tillamook, Short sands beach, and ecola park. The beach at manzanita was close and wonderful mixture of grassy hills with mountains views. Our kids hope to make this a yearly tradition.

Wonderful Coast House
Our family of 5 had a fantastic stay at this home. The property location provides a very short, easy walk to the beach and a short walk to downtown Manzanita. Great location. The house was lovely and clean, and the loft area was a real treat for our 3 boys. We also loved being right across the street from a park! We look forward to staying here again.

A bit dated but great location and lots of room for families
Overall very nice chalet at a great location! Our check-in process was a bit bumpy but this was quickly resolved and the chalet itself has plenty of room for large families and is perfectly situated right outside the immediate core of the town. The beach is 1-2 mins away by foot, a city park with lots of play options is right across the street yet the property is nice and quiet.
The kitchen has all the basic amenities, the bathrooms are decent, the living room with the open kitchen is good for gatherings and there is a second mini-kitchen - overall a nice property. Yes, a little dated here and there but hey, you'll be at the beach all day anyway, right?

A great place to stay
We enjoyed our stay. The house could use some updates, but everything was clean and worked well. The kitchen was well stocked and anything we needed could be found at the local grocery store. The beds were comfortable. We enjoyed using the wood stove as well.
The location is great. The beach is less than five minutes away by foot. The town has great amenities from restaurants to coffee to yoga.

Wonderful, close to the park. Walking distance to stores, restaurants, supermarkets. My son's in lows enjoyed their separate little apartment in the back of the house. Our grandchildren loved the porch and an abundance of toys and games. The proximity to the playground was also a big plus. Thank you for everything.

Perfect getaway for the weekend. This cabin was surprisingly clean, well-equipped and charming. The wood stove worked well, and there was plenty of firewood on site. The beach is a block away, and easily walk-able, as is downtown. There is a city park with tennis courts and play structures directly across the street.

Everything about this place was fantastic except that we ran into a few early season issues that would not have been noticed except that we were there for the 1st storm of the season. There was a leak in the back bedroom ceiling onto the bed and the main heater in the front room did not work. I did email Meredith Lodging on the morning of check out about the issues to let them know about these so they could be fixed. I did not get back any email about this which is disappointing as I was just trying to help the future renters. I was not looking for any compensation or freebee's, so unsure on why they did not respond back. But don't get the me wrong the place was great, but property management follow up needs a little help. Thank you, Mike Tuleya cell

Great getaway to celebrate our grandson's birthday. Play Chalet is located across from the local park and a short walk to the beach - just perfect for the little ones. Plenty of room for the whole family. Enjoyed the fact the home is clean and well appointed but not too fussy to have the little ones enjoy themselves. Owners have everything you can think of from the sand toys to the pancake griddle. We hope to return again next year. Only point to complain about is that the code we were given in our email was wrong. Had to call the management company to get the right one.
