About this house rental
SUMMARY
Situated in the historic village of Tesuque, this 400-year-old adobe home has been lovingly updated. The location is secluded, but it is only a short drive to downtown Santa Fe. The home features gorgeous original artwork from local artists, with incredible high-end contemporary furnishing, vigas, hand-troweled plaster walls, and mesquite wood end cut floors.
LIVING AREA AND DINING
The living room is located between the two bedrooms and is furnished with high-end and eclectic furniture that offers ample seating for your group to gather. The living room opens into the dining room, which seats four, and features a gorgeous kiva fireplace. A large picture window looks out into the garden.
KITCHEN
The fully-equipped kitchen is perfect for cooking from home, and an additional four-person breakfast table is available for dining in the kitchen.
BED AND BATH
Both bedrooms have queen beds, and have doors that lead directly to the outdoor space. The second bedroom has a charming gas fireplace.
OUTDOOR SPACE
The patio gives this home its name. This large space features a gas grill for cooking, and multiple tables for outdoor dining while enjoying the foliage and landscaping.
LOCATION
.3 miles to Tesuque Village Market
3.4 miles to the Santa Fe Opera
6 miles to downtown Santa Fe
6.6 miles to the Railyard
6.9 miles to Canyon Road
PLEASE NOTE:
- A small cot for children is available in the living room.
- The fireplace is available from October 15th - April 15th
- This home is dog-friendly (for stays shorter than 14 nights) with an additional $150 fee, however dogs are not allowed on the furniture. Any pet hair found on the furniture may result in additional cleaning fees.
- The home stays nice and cool given its double adobe construction which is shaded in the summer without any air conditioning. There are evaporative cooling units and fans should you want them.
- The TVs in this home are for streaming only. Cable, satellite, and basic cable are not available.
-This is a safe and authentic New Mexico neighborhood. Tesuque still holds all the world charm and mix of cultures that much of Santa Fe lost years ago. You will be staying in a socially and economically diverse neighborhood. As an example, Val Kilmer had purchased land and lived only a few blocks from this home and on the way up to your house, you will see homes that have been lived in by the descendants of the first families that originally came here when the Spanish first arrived. Some of these homes are a bit of an eyesore. If that bothers you the house is not for you.
- The outside of this home is monitored by security cameras.
- All-wheel or four-wheel drive is recommended when renting this home in the winter months.

Clean, well maintained and nicely decorated home. Nice location. Enclosed courtyard good for dogs but there are dogs next door who want your dog to know it’s their turf :) Bathroom awkward because of sink location and door won’t stay closed but good storage for your toiletries. Great kitchen, excellent oven/stove. Beds too hard, but that’s just me. I had to sleep on the couch but wouldn’t work for tall person. I would have appreciated some literature in the house for things to do in the area, but did appreciate the chips, salsa and wine. Courtyard has lovely fruit tree and good outdoor seating. Other than that, I think it has great potential for a wildflower garden for more color. I am also uncomfortable with any uncovered windows but they are covered in the bedrooms. **The steps going up to the house and into every threshold needs to be mentioned in the ad, as older people, especially, could easily fall**

Two Casitas is a VRBO that boasts a beautifully decorated and charming Adobe home. While there were several positive aspects to my stay, I must mention one notable downside that affected the overall tranquility of the experience.
Let’s start with the positives. Two Casitas truly captures the essence of Adobe architecture with its well-thought-out interior design. The attention to detail in the decor is remarkable, and I found myself admiring the artwork and furniture that enhanced the overall ambiance. The home’s charm and character create a warm and inviting atmosphere that is hard to resist.
However, there is one aspect that needs improvement. Unfortunately, the neighborhood surrounding the home has a considerable number of dogs, which significantly impacted the desired peacefulness. In particular, the two large dogs next door seemed to bark incessantly throughout the day and well into the evening. Another small dog on the opposite side yapped occasionally, within feet of the open window. This constant noise disrupted the serenity of the setting and made it challenging to fully relax or enjoy the quiet moments.
This is a lovely home in a convenient location, but not a quiet retreat for relaxing.

Fabulous location ~ felt totally safe in this home as a woman traveling alone. Garden was blooming while I was there and it was welcoming and beautifully designed. Lots of fabulous art work in the house. Absolutely appreciated the welcome gift ~ the salsa was phenomenal! Dog park just 10 minutes away by car. House was clean and had everything I needed to be comfortable.

Loved this place! We will be back!
Everything about the stay deserved five stars... from the communication with the property manager to the location and comfort of this beautiful home. We had everything we needed for our much needed getaway. Close enough to all the shopping and restaurants but far enough that it was so tranquil (as the ad states). The secret garden was a plus and we spent a lot of time enjoying the nice weather out on the patio with our dog who had plenty of space to explore the garden. We are already booking our second trip back here and are so thankful this place is available.

Very pleasant.
Very pleasant. We saw an opera for the first time, visited the tourist mecca, and always enjoyed the peace of returning to the casita. We hope to stay here again.
