Good location near town centre, although roads are difficult to cross
Room was dated (but historic hotel)
Bathroom needed updated bath too deep difficult to get into needs walk in shower , room 12 over reception, noisy coming and going piped lift music sounded like it was in the room, & traffic noise, manor restaurant food was mediocre, breakfast was atrocious, the saving grace was the staff were lovely.

Beautiful grounds

The setting and location of the property was good .
Had an issue with the television , this was sorted but it did take nearly 2 hours.
Not for people with mobility issues. Floor levels differ, from the front entrance, into bar area , into breakfast/ restaurant and to most rooms. These areas / differing levels, are not adequately marked.
Booked this hotel for the leisure facilities, especially the swimming pool, unfortunately some members of our group were unable to use the pool, only ladder steps to enter the pool. Spoke to the hotel reception regarding this issue , we received an apology but was told the leisure side of the hotel was managed by someone else, even though they advertise the pool as part of their facilities. We have not heard anything further from either .

I loved the historic part of the hotel, it has some really beautiful features. The location is perfect, and great convenient parking. Our stay was comfortable. We also used the spa facilities which were amazing, all booked for us to have massages by Geraldine who was lovely and helpful.
When we first arrived the reception staff were a little rude, I felt like I was difficult to understand or they adding want to make me feel welcome. When we arrived in our room the hot water didn’t work and after calling the reception multiple times we had to wait two hours to be helped and then to be transferred to another room before I could shower. I will say the girl who came to the room to help us was lovely. But then the AC in the new room didn’t work. The facilities in the part of the building where the majority of the rooms are located, are very dated. Single pane windows that you have to fight to close. Painted sliding wardrobes that are awkward to slide open and closed. Wonky lamps that don’t work. Dates bathrooms that don’t match the pictures they have on booking.com and are stained. One of our “fresh” towels had blood on it!

We asked for an upgrade thinking - all we got was a room above the bar - and a little sitting room and single bedroom. No required - and not what we asked for
The noise coming from the bar below but the hotel did compensate - also the floors very uneven which is understandable considering the age of the Hotel. But more importantly we had to take our large suitcases up two flights of stairs - and go down some to get to our room. Very dangerous

Location - close to river and attractions
Parking - large car park
Room - large comfy bed, plenty of space, tv etc
Bathroom - toiletries, good size, bath and shower
Breakfast - Buffett style, plenty of choice
Grounds - beautiful gardens
Hotel Bars - didn’t use them as only there for one night but looked nice
Pool - large pool and saunas
Was unable to get early check in but probs my due to busy time

Naomi in the restaurant offered outstanding service and was very welcoming
Dogs barking while in the bar for pre dinner drinks.

The property looks lovely from the outside but the rooms are nothing like what you would imagine.
The double bed was two beds pushed together which was really annoying and we had to sleep on just the one, the room stank of paint, bath leaked onto the bathroom floor, you could only get really hot or really cold water from the sink tap, dusty and lacks attention to detail. Not worth it for the price
3.7
Lovely building and great location.
Service at breakfast was awful because I had my dog we were placed in a separate room quiet a distance from the main building. Trying to get ur buffet style breakfast back to the room we were placed in was a nightmare considering the amount the breakfast cost £24 each should of been waitress service.

Uncomfortable

We've been staying at the Macdonald Alveston for years and love it
The heating didn't work in one of the rooms and a very nice maintenance worker gave us a storage heater. But the heating was not mended, we were not offered an alternate room or a partial refund. I would like to be contacted by a manager if possible.

We really enjoyed our stay at Alveston Manor and liked the old traditional feel of the place. The rooms we had were basic but comfortable and had everything we needed. We loved the sparkling water fountain in the hallway which was so handy to fill up water bottles.
The restaurant had a good menu and the meals we had were all very nice. Breakfast was also good with plenty of options.
Staff were all really pleasant and friendly and happily helped with any requests we had, particularly Ian at reception.
The indoor pool was great.
Location was fantastic.
Having to pay extra for parking, felt it should have been included.
3.7
Location very good. Leisure facilities good.
Room was dated and very cluttered.
Bathroom cold due to heated towel rail not working which was reported on the day of arrival but never fixed.
3.7
The spa experience was excellent.. the lady who performed the treatment amazing 10/10
Sauna, steam room very good!
I paid extra for an upgrade. The room, upon arrival, was very cold. In the morning the water/ heating system started up. very noisy indeed. the room above us you could hear people walking across the floor.
we did not stop for the evening dinner as we heard people were not very happy with the food. We travelled into the town for food.

Very characterful and great location for visiting Stratford
The heating wasn’t working properly in the bedroom

Great location to get to the town
Room was clean but dated. Shower leaked on floor the door seal was not good. No light on one side of the bed.
3.7
Lovely bedroom lovely evening dinner friendly staff nice pool & spa
Breakfast a little pricey

It’s proximity to everything. Nice hotel. Fantastic breakfast.
Having to pay £7.00 per day for parking in addition to hotel costs.
3.7
The location in comparison to the the centre of Stratford.
The hotel room overlooked the kitchen extractor fan units, the windows were sealed closed but it was still noisy and it was difficult to sleep. The equipment in the room was tired and some not even working.
3.7
Lovely pool area. Excellent food. Friendly and attentive staff. The location is really good, perfect for exploring Stratford.
A few things in the room, such as the sofa bed blocking access to the bathroom and exit. The bathroom door didn't close properly, lock was broken. Carpets a bit stained and worn around the place, giving a tired impression.
3.7
Breakfast very expensive £18 pp. Not a lot of food for that.
3.7
Staff very helpful and friendly, nice welcome and lovely service at breakfast, great location only 5 minutes into centre of Stratford.
Sadly guests now have to pay for parking, although rooms and facilities are good the furniture and some carpet are looking a little worn
3.7
Location good
Checking in easy
🛌 very comfortable
Paying for parking 😒
Room could have been cleaner cobwebs on our room on curtains & corners
Decor a little tired
Sauna & jacuzzi could do with sprucing up a bit.
3.7
A nicely located traditional hotel in easy access of Stratford's attractions
I paid a supplement for avocado on toast and was disappointed to be offered some sort of avocado spread-wasnt worth it
3.7
Location and facilities
Room nice but in need of refurbishment
3.7
Big rooms. Nice guest lounge and bar which we enjoyed a relaxing drink in
Very good pool complex with gym. Enjoyed the dinner and breakfast, waiting staff well trained and reception staff very friendly.
The classic rooms are big but really dated. The a/c didn't work so they immediately changed our room and upgraded us free of charge. I'd pay more for an upgrade if I stayed again. Really the hotel stay was.good though so no complaints.

The location
The air con wasn't working well
Rooms dated

Close to town. Car parking on site. Breakfast included.
Needed updating. Bed not very comfortable. We were in downstairs room and a coach parked right outside window early in the morning which was very loud. Water dispenser outside the room didn't work. Breakfast ok but basic.
3.7
Convenience for theatre and pool
Food was poor quality
Room was fine but with dark furnishings, grey paint and very poor dim lighting which made it feel very gloomy
3.7
Quite a good location for staying in Stratford on Avon.
It was a warm summer evening. The room was very hot and airless Air conditioning did not work. Window could not be opened. Radiator in bathroom could not be turned off. Staff were unhelpful with these problems. Restaurant service was very slow even though it was not busy. It took an hour and three quarters to get two courses
3.7
Staff helpful. Accommodation clean. Breakfast good. Customer service really good.
The road outside hotel was very busy to try and cross to reach town, bars, and restaurants.
3.7
loved the look of the hotel. great proximity to town centre
room was in an annex which we didn’t know about, more like a motel than hotel
