Breakfast and dinner were good. Staff lovely and friendly.
Having booked months before we were looking forward to a lovely view of the beautiful grounds. Disappointing to being allocated a room overlooking the bins and outdoor machinery. Noisy lorry deliveries early morning and noisy drilling and hammering from repairs from room upstairs. Such a shame as the rest of the hotel was great. Spa wonderful too. Couldn't look forward to returning to our room at the back! And we were in great need of a restful stay.

Property in a perfect location and only just around the corner from the town. Staff very polite at all times when checking in or asking for extra. Spa was very clean and again helpful, room size was good.
Room had black bits under the covers and wasn’t very comfortable albeit the size was great for the upgrade which was ok to pay for. Breakfast options seem to go fast but again due to people no one’s fault.

The most exceptional historical building. Beautiful grounds and gardens. Location 15 mins drive from Stratford. Price was insane for what you get! Available leisure and Spa facilities were really 5*. Sauna, steam rooms, hot/ cold showers, 2 pools. Lots of chaises around the pool. Peaceful and quiet. Had the indoor pool and outdoor jacuzzi to ourselves. Spa staff were super friendly and accommodating. Teenage son treated very well. Twin room was clean and spacious. All rooms had a stunning view. Pleased to have heavy blackout curtains. Comfy mattress, duvet and pillows. Enough hot drink facilities for 3-4 cups of tea. Multiple tv channels. Breakfast was plentiful and self serve and waiters were so helpful and pleasant to talk to. Plenty of parking outside.
Very few complaints! Sat nav hotel site provided took us on a good chase..
Hot breakfast items (bacon, eggs) has been cooked a while so a bit dry. Checkin / out reception staff could do with practising their greeting! No eye contact and no conversation 😂

Staff were very friendly, it was clean, lovely surroundings.
Check in and waiting to speak to reception took very long, no answer from reception if you call from room. Room key stopped working which was not ideal when having just left the spa and had to wait in a queue to speak to reception.

Location
Roads closed- no warning from the hotel
Unable to access the hotel by taxi after dining out in Stratford- our party had to abandon the taxi and walk back
There were 3 taxis involved and none could find the hotel.
It marred our evening, we were lost…
We found our way eventually to the back of the hotel and had to demand the kitchen hand let us in

Beautiful old building, lovely big bedroom, good breakfast.
The bar closed before 11.00pm

Fantastic location…feels like being at a private house party. Enormous room and lovely pool.
The communal areas need some TLC but for the price we paid excellent value for money and appreciate to make those changes cost would be huge.

No volvería NUNCA!!!!!

Grounds pretty, spa facilities ( if all in working order), comfy well proportioned room, food tasty, excellent wine, efficient check in / out, peaceful
Disorganised in restaurant at dinner and breakfast, no system for locker keys in the spa, flooring in spa VERY slippy, not all.spa facilities in working order.

Nice location and grounds.
Swimming pool quite cool. Steam pool/jacuzzi lovely. Run down room. Husband cut his foot on exposed carpet gripper coming out of bathroom. Asked for quiet room but it was on a landing with noisy passers by in early hours. Ridiculous prices for bar snacks and drinks, lots of people commenting. Staff over attentive at breakfast, hovering.

Friendly, helpful staff throughout hotel. Provided exceptional service to my friend who had an accident
Nothing except trying to negotiate hallways and doorways to the disabled room at the end of hotel

The location of the hotel, the spa facilities and the staff were great.
Unfortunately the food at the hotel restaurant was awful. I am very sorry because it is such a lovely hotel and everything was fantastic but the food was very disappointing and the menu did not offer a lot of choice. We had dinner only once and we didn’t like it at all. I really believe they should change the chef for their own benefit.

Lovely location, booked hotel because of the spa,it was great! Nice and clean with good size pool along with the facilities. (gym, jacuzzis , sauna, steam room, foot spa)
The bar area was a nice place to sit, comfortable, relaxing and great views onto golf course.
Ordered a pizza at the bar, very tasty, lots of topping and big enough fof 2 people.
Drinks were on the pricey side, but had I checked the drinks menu, I could of got the wines cheaper, However. Expected to pay more, being in a grand hotel with stunning ceilings and architect. Breakfast was self service and good selection on offer, we enjoyed it.
Telly could have been more updated with applications.
Two pillows were uncomfortable, so lumpy and beyond repair, need to be thrown away. The bed was comfortable

The hotel is exquisite, luxurious, set in beautiful quiet surroundings. The staff were all friendly and eager to help. The receptionist was friendly, easy to talk to which helped a lot as I have ADHD and can be hard work, yet he maintained his polite professionalism throughout our numerous chats.
Breakfast outstanding in all areas, quality of food, staff and the service.
Will be returning in the near future but staying longer. I was so impressed
Confusion on actually locating hotel reception as I wandered into the spa
Clearer map to direct people with my disability to find our room more easily or be escorted up

Location is great just before city centre , Roman gardens looked amazing and the landscape views , the hotel itself is beautiful… feel like going back in time. Bottled water was provided In the room with tea and coffee making facilities, room was very spacious.
Bed was uncomfortable quite hard , bedroom was next to a plant room on the roof outside the window and quite noisy, I didn’t think breakfast was as good in terms of choices and variety as other 4 stars hotels in Stratford. Staff at main reception and at the spa didn’t feel they were very friendly or welcoming , I felt more like an inconvenience for them.

Staff on the whole were very accommodating, friendly and professional. The swimming facilities were great and we all had a great time. The grounds were beautiful and the breakfast was great. Parking was difficult to find as there was a wedding going on at the hotel but the hotel staff allowed us to park in a disabled spot with no hesitation and were very accomodating.
A couple of things ruined the experience: 1) Our shower didn't drain fast so it would over flow into the bathroom if you took anything but a quick shower. I raised this on the first evening (Saturday) and was told it would be fixed the next day. The next day (Sunday) I asked if it had been fixed and was told it should be. When I mentioned it to the staff at check out i was told there is no maintenance staff on the week hence it wasn't fixed. We should have been relocated to another room or something if the shower couldn't be fixed (note the sink had the same issue but it didn't overflow but we would see our spit etc. floating in the water which was a little gross as it took along time for the sink to drain).
Another thing that ruined the experience a little (far less important than the drainage issue) was when I asked the Bar staff if they still honored the late night alcohol availability for guests I was told with hesitation it was but ideally they wanted to close up the bar as the "bar staff need to sleep too". This felt a little abrasive.

What a perfect spot, beautiful hotel in lovely grounds. The spa facilities are excellent and the room was large and comfortable. Breakfast was brilliant
Nothing only wish we had stayed longer.

Spa was lovely and clean
We were in an apartment- it’s quite dated
Light comes straight into the room
No daily cleaning - despite booked as a hotel room and wasn’t told when booked or checked in

Room size was good. Bed comfortable. Plenty of storage.
Staff very helpful.
Lovely gardens.
Spa and pool area were lovely. Had sauna, steam room, foot massage, hot tub, inside and out and pool. Again the outside spa needs tlc. Tiles missing.
All complimentary with the room.
Rips in nets on windows. Tv not working. Had to be moved to first floor room which wasn’t idea with my husbands disability. Carpets worn. Very very tired looking. Whole hotel needs a spruce up. Shower screen not fitted properly so water leaks onto floor.
When moved to another room, it had a lounge and bedroom which was nice. Unfortunately the tv in the lounge wasn’t working either!!!!! Breakfast wasn’t great. Rubber eggs,,sausages skins very hard to cut through. No hash browns or poached eggs
Ordered a bowl of chips about 7pm. Still waiting at 7.55. Decided to cancel. God know how long a meal would have taken!!!!

The spa was good but switches broke etc , so had wait be controlled by staff locker not great . But not bad place to stay.
All ok really

Location had beautiful grounds and was very peaceful. Lovely architecture with period furniture. Five minute drive to the town centre.
We were “upgraded” to an apartment away from the main building which had a few minor defects and leftover food in the fridge.

Friendly staff, great views and location. Comfortable, spacious room and good breakfast (recommend booking in advance). Enjoyed using the spa facilities in the morning. Good value for money.
Some aspects of the spa were a bit tired or not working (e.g. lockers and foot spa). Gardens needed some TLC.
3.5
really good location for Stratford
the spa didn’t have working lockers and the pool had sand in the bottom.

Great room, lovely food. Friendly staff. Fabulous spa facilities.
Short staffed on Tuesday afternoon. Changing rooms in the Spa need updating. Couldn't operate the lockers.
