Had a fab time, will look to stay for longer next time.

The location was spot on, one minute walk to cathedral. Excellent host, showed us round property and how things worked and once settled in messaged to check everything was OK.

Lovely town house, excellent location and welcoming host.

The location was exceptional, just next to York Minster and a very short walk to the Shambles and the train station. Local pubs and cafes close by.

Fab location, great property, very helpful host

This is an old property so it’s hRd to keep on top of the maintenance so a couple of damp patches but no smell of damp and lovely and clean

Perfect stay in a beautiful home, which couldn't have been more ideally located.

Really lovely host. The location could not have been more ideal in the centre of York, right in front of the minister. Great communication from the host, nothing was too much hassle. He met us at the property and then showed us the way to the parking. The prosecco and chocolate cake was a lovely touch that we appreciated - thank you!

Comfortable stay and great location.

The location was wonderful with access to the York Minster, shops and restaurants very easy. The host was responsive to questions, provided good information and even left us a cake and fizz to enjoy. It is a four story house but steps were negotiable and rooms were nice. It was a comfortable place to stay.

The only challenge was the heat wave that made it hard to sleep but everything else was quite nice. The house does have some natural cooling with the structure but fans would have made it perfect. You aren't likely to experience a heat wave like we did so wouldn't worry about it or have it keep you from staying there.

fantastic

brill place to stay, Mark was very good host,you be hard to find a better location .house was very clean .a nice touch was the fact he left milk in fridge and a large chocolate cake.lots of tea bags and coffee as we all know you want a cuppa when you arrive .

only problem was the stairs as we had a 1 year old with us ,but we managed well .only to be expected with a four storey house built in 1770.one baby stair gate left at house might be a good idea.

A truly memorable weekend in a fabulous house

This lovely house could not be in a better location. A short walk to everywhere & despite being minutes from the Minster was quiet & secluded. Mark was a great host & very attentive. We loved the house & the little welcome touches. A really unique experience staying in a beautiful listed property. Lovely bedding, modern bathrooms and plenty of room for 4 of us and all of our bits & pieces. Highly recommended!

The perfect base to visit this amazing city!

Mark met us at the property, helped us unload, showed us around the property and then took me to the gated parking. The location was fabulous with the view of the Minster just outside the door. Shopping, restaurants and pubs/bars just around the corner! We would happily stay again as it was like a home from home.

If you have mobility issues, this is not the place for you as it is set over 4 floors.

Amazing house and well situated within the city centre.

its a self catering home and we had everything we needed and more to make our stay perfect. Mark when with us to park the car and drive us back to his house. I requested a card and wine for my husband 60th birthday and it was there on arrival along with a birthday cake and bubbly, he went beyond what i expected. 5 STARS

Perfect place to stay in York

Perfect stay. If you are in a group going to York, book here. Incredible location 100m from the Minster. Great cosy space. Everything you could need while you’re there. And Mark couldn’t be more helpful. Absolutely ideal.

Bring earbuds if you want to sleep past 8am when the bells start!

Perfect host, property and location.

Superb property in a magnificent location. The house was lovely and warm and set up perfectly for our family visit. Considering the property location is so close to the Minster, the road in which it is situated is incredibly quiet. The property owner, Mark, was very attentive and his communication was exceptional. Thank you so much for a wonderful stay. We will definitely be booking again.

Outstanding

The house is amazing! Location for exploring York is second to none! We were there to run the Yorkshire Marathon/10miler but wanted to be in the centre for pre and post days. The decor is lovely. Warm and cosy. We spent our first night in our PJ’s, in the living room watching TV and snacking and it was brilliant. Felt really at home. The place and the host are outstanding and this will be our “go to” choice for any future trips to York. Simply the best!!

Perfect Precentor's :-)

Perfect location so central yet tucked away in a quiet street. Spacious rooms all well equipped with home comforts - hubby and brother-in-law especially liked the PS4! However, the best thing was the communication and welcome from Mark - really helpful and kind. Highly recommend a stay here !!!

Lovely house right next to York Minster

Mark was an excellent host. The communication with him both on email prior to the trip and via text during the trip was fantastic and speedy. The location of the house is right on the doorstep to York Minister and very central. The house was lovely and clean and had all the amenities needed, including clean towels. The secure parking was an added bonus as we didn't have to worry about finding a parking space and paying for parking around the city. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the house was fabulous.
