Location is great. Very convenient. Easy access to shops and within walking distance to Hakone Yumoto station.
The food can be improved. More hot dishes will be better.

I only like about this hotel was the lovely waitress at their restaurant
it is very old hotel , everything is falling apart. It is now worth at all giving nearly £400 for half board accomodation for a night . Check out time is 10 am, this is also unacceptable people coming to relax so should be allowed to sleep a bit it should be at least 11 . Including reception the staff cant speak English.
very old hotel, £400 for a night too much.

Peaceful location, very scenic, quiet, river was beautiful and I had the best sleep in Japan at this hotel.
Room need some updating

Location is very convenient and there are restaurants and eateries if you did not select half board meals.
All staff are very polite and the young lady attendant to our Kaiseki dinner and breakfast for 2 nights stay was superb. She is attentive, resourceful and informative and when I enquired about a delicious tiny vegetable pickle. She translated the pickle from Japanese to English using Google translate on her handphone. It was a pickled Lily bulb which we do not usually have it in our cuisine. Kaiseki dinner was delicious especially the grilled King crab on the second night. The 2 breakfasts are superb & delicious too! The menu is not repetitive and they are delicious.
We were given a room with mountain view. 4 Futons beds were set up on the tatami when we had our dinner in the private room in the restaurant. There is a cosy tatami room with different daifuku mochi each day placed on the table. If you like them, they can be purchased from the souvenir store near to the hotel lobby. There’s also green tea teapot box near to the water flask at one corner. There is western room with sofa and TV for family chilling out after using the onsen.
Outdoor Onsen for women is on the 6th floor with some single tubs for individuals.
No smart TV if you don’t mind.

The view over the river was nice. Location was easily accessible. The room itself was nicely decorated.
They advertise Air Conditioning but don't have it. There was only a heater in the room.
The food isn't great, I wasn't able to finish many of my courses. The ambiance in the eating areas in terrible (bright fluorescent lights for dinner, old run down walls). And the service was haphazard, some courses coming all at once, some things being cleared, others staying on the table until we left.

Great experience and relaxation for my husband and myself. The Japanese breakfast and dinner was exceptional! The onsen experience was worth it too!

The onsen and baths were quite nice. The beds were comfortable and the room quite large.
We arrived a little after 8pm and were told it was too late for our Kaiseki dinner. We hadn’t eaten all day as we were looking forward to this meal and couldn’t find anything around that was open. I wish they had informed us that the kitchen closed at a certain time. We received no refund for the dinner that we had paid for. Not the best way to start our trip. We will definitely not come back to this ryokan.

ideal location, only a few minutes from train station.
food was good but not exceptional

Very nice area, we enjoyed our stay in the room. The room was very clean and quiet even if we are in a lively neighbourhood . It's fun to be welcomed by Robots!
The staff does not really speak English, and as everything has to be done through the robots, sometimes it can be confusing.

Generally the food, both the dinner and the breakfast was good. The portion was good, the taste was good. The room is really clean, great view, huge and wide. They also have a personal onsen which is a great bonus. We like the service, the staff is polite and greets you warmly. Parking is free, which is a great bonus and the facilities at level 1 is also good. Comfortable bed, great place to chill out.
I won't say it is not good. But having been to few onsen places now, I won't consider this place again due to the price range and also their public onsen was a little disappointing. The food is not the best that I have tasted and they are unable to get into my top 10 list. We have really been to much better onsen place with better price.

poor house cleaning, still had tissue paper in toilet

Really likes the Japanese style room. The river side view is definitely worth the extra bucks I payed.
Gotta admit, the hotel is not the most modern place. Especially when you pay quite an amount for a single night. We were a bit turned off by the fact that the room was a non-smoker, but looking/smelling at the furniture, it was evident that smoking used to be allowed, and the hotel have not updated since.
9.2
The service was excellent. Staff are very friendly and helpful.
The place looks a bit tired. Nevertheless, the excellent service and friendly staff makes up for it.
