Excellent accommodation in Kamakura. Staff were very attentive and spoke good English. We felt very welcome during our stay. It is a bit of a walk from the train station, but the views make up for it.

The private onsen was amazing!
A little on the expensive side but worth it for the experience.

It’s serene
I don’t really see anything negative

Japanese style hotel with great atmosphere, Onsen very nice and Clean
Should provide a Japanese breakfast and not western
4.0
The place is nice and neat, with 10 min walk from hakone yumoto station.
Staff are friendly and helpful.
The place might be overpriced, 300+ per night for a Japanese style room with western breakfast isn't top tier.

Nice dinner. Cozy & traditional place.
Onsen is limited.

It was a unique experience with excellent customer service. We were looking for a traditional ryokan experience and were not disappointed.
Be aware that a traditional Ryokan experience comes with a set menu served in your room. The food is good, but unusual and plentiful. if you don’t like fish or seafood you should not book the meals.

Staff
VERY old room
No breakfast included (not possible)
No elevator
No real curtains (room very bright in the morning)

close by the station yet quiet
rather old; didn’t provide private schedule for onsen use

The staff were very helpful and friendly
it was overpriced and basic beyond belief. It was not a traditional ryokan room as such, but a soulless room in an annexe building across the way. More akin to a hospital room than a hotel room.. Bathroom was tiny, even by Japan standards.

Pleasant service, onsen, beside the river
furnishings very basic

I think the restaurant can do better and make more choices . So far , all good

Good location, friendly and great onsen. Good size rooms
The room is quite out dated. Lacked some essentials such as better lighting - no bedside light. The WiFi wasn't great. A bit over priced for what it is.

As a ryokan, this place was beautiful. The staff was amazingly friendly! The traditional japanese breakfast/dinner was amazing (even though I didn't eat a few of the things lol)
Would have been nice if the onsen were a natural onsen. I was looking forward to experiencing the effects of warm sulfuric water on my skin. Onsen was beautiful but did smell of chlorine instead of sulfur.

The location was good but nothing else
The room smelt of cigarettes, was awful like something from the 1970s and the beds were uncomfortable. When we asked to change room they said that we couldn’t but eventually did to a smaller room. They didn’t even come into the room the following day they just left towel’s outside the door. The beds were unmade and the room was cold.
The staff were unhelpful and told us that we couldn’t upgrade to the newer part of the hotel as it was too expensive and sold out. I would not recommend this hotel.

The location is convenient; about a 10-minute walk from Hakone-Yumoto Station. The hotel was relatively clean and warm enough.
Our room was dated and felt akin to a hospital room. There was no elevator and it was on the 4th floor which made travelling to and from the room cumbersome. The attitude of some staff felt unhelpful when asked for assistance with some issues we had, like being given dirty towels and a tricky room door. Beds were not very comfortable, and the thin walls meant we could hear banging of our neighbours all night.

The staff were very kind.
The hotel public bath are out of the hotel.
No elevator to the building that our room was located. Had to take stairs to and from 4th floor to go to the public bath.

a little dated but overall still good

Near main train station, by scenic river, staff
Felt slightly remote and soulless

The reception staff were nice.
We had dinner and breakfast but the food was not good.
The staff who took care of the dinner and breakfast was not friendly and not very helpful. Quite disappointed as we had great experience in other onsen hotels.
The onsen is in another building which is not convenient for winter time.

We loved our traditional Japanese room. It was cozy and clean. My husband and I immediately enjoyed the complimentary yukatas and found our way to the spas which were phenomenally relaxing. There are lower levels spas and then a roof top spa which is available to men and women at different hours.
We had breakfast and dinner included in our stay and let me just say the food was bountiful! They were traditional Japanese meals and there's no way we could finish everything. But the highlight above all was the service. The staff were so kind and cared for everything we needed. We were truly sad to say goodbye to them.

Comfortable stay. Doesn't have lifts, so be careful with the luggage you carry.

The location is close enough to walk into town, yet quiet and peaceful. The premises are immaculate, the hot spring facilities nice, and the restaurant good. We especially enjoyed the robes and slippers that we could wear to the restaurant. The service overall is excellent! Arigato!
The beds are too firm and the pillows too thin.
