Food was great and the whole place had a great relaxing atmosphere!
my bed was a bit hard!

Friendly staff. Fantastic location, being located right next to a bus stop. Also close to 7-11 and a few local restaurants that are delicious (but check closing times as things close early for dinner!). Also, hotel offers massages; we booked one 1-hour and another 40-minute session. Great skills, very relaxing. The masseuses come directly to your room which is convenient! Pay in cash only.
The onsen is well-maintained but there are only 2 bath options, one indoors and the other outdoors. The outdoors bath is the only one that has natural minerals.

The kaiseki dinner and breakfast was delicious! We paid for the private onsen and that was an incredible experience. The location is amazing.

We loved our tub/shower in the private bathroom, a little difficult to get in and out of for older people, but lovely with the view of the mountains outside our window. Breakfast was included and it was a wonderful traditional Japanese breakfast. We loved it! We paid for dinner on our first night but ate at one of the nearby placed for our second night.
My only suggestion would be the addition of a small ramp to the side of the entrance steps, after a full travel day with trains and buses, it was tough having to carry (drag) our luggage up the front entrance. There is ample room off to the side for a ramp.

EVERYTHING, really catered well to being solo. SO much food for dinner don’t eat before hand, staff were all incredible and the private onsens were so worth the upgrade
There could of been food options for lunch (I went to 711)

I loved everything about this place! The staff was amazing, super friendly and nice people. Very helpful and cheerful but professional. The food was amazing too. I'm vegan and can say that I didn't expect that a hotel would put so much effort into creating a perfect vegan meal. Thank you so much for this experience. The Onsen is great too, I loved it (public and private ones). Directly in front of the hotel is a bus stop so it's super easy to get everywhere from the hotel. The room was very clean and beautiful, providing everything you need. I wish I could have stayed longer at this amazing place! Highly recommend!

Enjoyed the kaiseki breakfast and dinner they prepared! Great onsen too

Large rooms. We were shocked after the many small rooms we had in cities.
We paid for the dinner option. Was an amazing experience. Dressed in our supplied outfits, and such a large variety of Japanese food. I was very happy that I chose that option.
We enjoyed a private onsen. Great experience.
The bus stops in front of the hotel, so easy to get there.

We wanted a traditional ryokan experience, and Mount View Hakone exceeded our expectations. The dinner served was extremely rich, and allowed us to (re)discover à lot of the japanese food culture.
The onsen were very nice, and the booking of à private session made very easy by the staff.

The food, the location, the staff!!! Everything was 6 star. This hotel is a example of what exceding expectations is all about!

The staff were incredibly polite and helpful. The facilities were amazing and the rooms and onsen were exceptional. We enjoyed the private onsen too! We also had breakfast and dinner at the hotel and found the meals and staff to be exceptional. Thank you for having us!
Nothing. It was all wonderful!

Consierge (very very kind), dinner (actually SUPER!)
Family onsen not really cozy, no windows with a bad atmosfere

The room is very spacious and comfortable, you get more than double the sizes compared to the usual hotel rooms at similar prices in Tokyo or Osaka. Although at first glance, it might seem a bit expensive, the dinner and breakfast in the halfboard option are both very delicious and with great portions. Considering what you get, it's very good value too. The paid private Onsen (hot springs pool) is also a very enjoyable experience.
Most people probably reach Hakone from Yumoto, this hotel is a bit far from there. However, the bus stop is right in front of the hotel.

The hotel is easily accessible, buses run several times an hour, the bus stop is right in front of the hotel. The room was very spacious and well equipped, the bed was comfortable. The whole hotel is beautifully clean. The public bath and onsen are open all night. The onsen is not big, but only few people were there (late in the evening I had the space to myself). Based on the reviews, I ordered half board - a fantastic meal with several courses. A great opportunity to try traditional Japanese cuisine. I chose the vegan option. The food completely exceeded my expectations - not only the taste, but also the serving, the dining room (separate tables for each room), the attitude of the staff... I recommend visiting this hotel to all my friends who come to this area. I would come back again.

This is by far the best hotel in our entire trip. Well updated Ryokan provides nice home feelings. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Onsen was just fabulous- reserve à private one if possible. Kaiseki style dinner and breakfast were well prepared and presented- and is actually of very good value. Very conveniently located as you can find 7/11 stores nearby, yet tucked in a serene area that you feel submerged into the beauty of the nature. Easy walk to Mount Kintoki and other trails. Short bus ride to the lake. Overall a 10/10 and I am definitely coming back!!!

Food was amazing. We had a lot of people with individual food restrictions and they took a lot of care in making sure these restricted food were not just missing, but that we got something we would be happy with and enjoyed. The food really was a great experience. Probably the best meal we had in Japan so far.
Onsen and bath were comfortable. Overall it was a really nice experience and everybody from our group was quite happy. Rooms were clean and spacious.
If you keep the air conditioning on when you sleep, the noise might bother you.

We were here about ten years ago and liked it very much. It didn't disappoint this time. The dinners were excellent and private onsen exquisite. Tozan bus stop is right outside the door and very convenient.

Excellent food
Nice private onsen
Very good ryokan experience
Very friendly staff, helped me out with something I forgot at the hotel

Great onsen facilities. Hot tubs both inside and outside.
Large sized rooms.
Excellent breakfast service in terms of presentation and timeliness.
Perhaps consider offering a western style breakfast option (or at least some fruits and bread for those that would rather not have seafood and fish in the morning).
4.5
Dinner is great. Bus stop is just outside the hotel, very convenient.
The pillow is not so soft and there is mosquito in hotel. But the staff is very kind and give me some ointment for the bites.
4.5
Love the onsen the most!
Great dinner and breakfast too
With sake at afforable price, definitely the best accomodation of my entire trip in japan
There is no shower in the room, but definitely is not a problem!because you will go public onsen there to clean yourself, and is well equipped with hairdryer

Mt View Hakone is a delightful ryokan. Enjoyed the onsen especially the outdoor bath , it was so peaceful, and thoroughly relaxing, such bliss. The view from our room was lovely with the snow-capped trees and bushes. Stayed 2 nights and enjoyed the delicious and beautifully presented Kaiseki breakfasts and dinners. Reception and restaurant staff were all absolutely friendly and very helpful. Outstanding service overall. Bus stop is right in the front of the ryokan. Thank you for a wonderful stay 😃
Loved everything.
