This was an end of the Summer family vacation. First time on the eastern shore. House was great, in a great location. Probably the best stocked house that we had stayed from kitchen appliances and utensils to beach chairs and floats. Looking forward to going back

We were very pleased with the size of the house. Our large family was comfortable and we were able to enjoy activities together or go off by ourselves too. Just a couple of items: slow drainage in one shower downstairs, very dirty grill on deck, and the sink in island didn’t work. But no big issues and the private beach and pool were wonderful.

Despite some rough weather, we all had a great time. The house is beautiful with great views and only a short walk to the beach or a private pool. Our grandchildren loved it as did the adults. When weather dictated indoors activities, we went to the very friendly town of Port Charles or to the aquarium in Norfolk. We would definitely go again.

My family and I can't stop talking about this house and how much we enjoyed waking up together and celebrating Thanksgiving! This house had everything we wanted and needed to get our mini vacation started. We cooked, ate, watched football, and strolled along the beach to burn off calories😁 We highly recommend this home for large families who need lots of bathrooms and require a walk along a secluded, private beach. PS, the owner is kind and accommodating. Thanks so much for allowing us to stay. You WILL see us again!

Our family appreciates the small town atmosphere of Cape Charles and the Bay Dunes community provides comfortable beach rental accommodations for the whole family. The house was perfect, it had everything we needed and even included fun water floats and toys for use on the beach and nearby community pool. The house was clean and the kitchen had everything we needed. We loved the wooded setting and saw lots of wildlife. We rented kayaks and we’re very happy with the service. Pickup and drop off made it a very simple process. Our rental agent was kind and helpful and responded promptly when contacted. A great place, highly recommend!

We loved the private beach and easy access. The kids loved the pool and tennis courts. It was a big bonus to have a private bath for each bedroom, plus a powder room & the outside showers. Loved that we could all fit at the dining room table. Favorite reading spaces were the screened porch & nook off the main living area. We didn't have any internet issues, but had trouble getting/making calls.

This property was absolutely beautiful and very well maintained. A great layout for 3 families with kids ranging ages 5-17. Plenty of privacy both in and around the house. A short and easy walk to a private beach - we saw very few people all week. Low tide allowed for hours of safe, fun play in the bay for the kids. The drive to the grocery store and downtown was 10-15 min and very easy. We went to the grocery store several times and didn’t lose a lot of vacation time. Lots of fun beach toys and beach chairs were available in the garage. The two dishwashers was a HUGE help and the common spaces were fantastic for gathering. We loved hearing birds sing and waves at the same time while on the porch. We are hoping to stay again!

Nice, big house but no access from garage to upstairs. No brochures showing restaurants, shops, etc. NO DECK FURNITURE ON FIRST LEVEL. NO TABLE W UMBRELLA ON TOP DECK. LACK OF BATH MATS . I took one out of closet. NEEDS A GOOD SWEEPING ON STEPS OUTSIDE & DECK

We had a really lovely time at this property. Very spacious living area and bedrooms, extremely well-equipped kitchen, comfortable and attractive furniture, lovely view of trees out the back (and a slice of the water through the greenery). long and inviting dining room table--room for lots of extended family. Only suggestion would be to swap out one or two of the TVs and add small desks to some of the downstairs bedrooms--for those folks who have to do a bit of remote work...Other than that, this place has it all!

We had a wonderful time at the property. The house was much larger than the photos looked and there was more than enough space for the entire family. The walk to the beach was easy and super private. The beach was also much larger than expected and perfect for our young kids to run wild and crazy. The sunsets were spectacular from the beach. Its hard to see the beach and the sunsets from the house because there is so many trees and vegetation but we liked that because it was so private. Thank you again for sharing your home with us!

We fell in love with Bay Dunes last year and came back for our 2nd annual family trip this summer! We were shocked that we could be even MORE impressed than the first time as we had access to the community pool (was closed in 2020 due to COVID). The house was exactly as we had remembered, with the property and private beachfront as quaint and as special as it was on our first trip. This house has really left quite an impression on our family and has become our home away from home. Can't wait to make even more memories in years to come!

The house was wonderful! Spacious bedrooms, bathroom in every room, wrap around porch with a grill and lounge chairs, and an amazing kitchen. It's a very small town and not too touristy but it was so nice to relax on the beach all alone and explore the shops in the small town. Only downfall was the service of the Wifi and for our cellphones. It was very difficult to make calls and do some work we needed to do on our laptops, but otherwise, it was a perfect stay!

Lovely home but many added fees

This home is very comfortable and clean, and the location is perfect for a reunion during Covid times. Our family loved the beach, kayaking, cycling, fishing, and meals around the large dining room table. However, although I have rented through VRBO many times in the past, especially in Hawaii and California, I have never had so many additional fees tacked on to the rental. I think the listing should have been clear about these fees and the fact that the pool was closed.

Big picture, we had a great time. Wonderfully large and spacious house. We enjoyed the fact All 5 bedrooms have private bathrooms. Huge kitchen and living area, massive deck, screened porch. Loved the “private” beach. Everything just perfect as a getaway even in the times of the pandemic. We highly recommend this place! Everything was in good working order. We were comfortable the whole time. Hate to leave.....

We had a great time at this property and home. The privacy of the community and great location to the private beach was exactly what we were looking for. We will be coming back ! Fishing, crabbing was fun for all ages. Only problem was the propane tank was empty after 1 hour and the spare was empty but that was the prior guest fault for not letting the owner know.

There are some little things that need to be done to the house prior to renting like get rid of bugs and there is a little mold in a couple of the bathrooms. The private beach is amazing just a little hike for younger kids. The outdoor showers are nice but once you step out you are in the dirt again so it was hard to not track dirt in. If you want a place to stay off of social media or just no cell phones this is the place. Cell reception was not good. Overall, a very nice place.

We choose this loacation in Cape Charles due to the COVID craziness and it did not disappoint!!! Very clean and very private compared to other vacation hotspots like Myrtle Beach and Virginia Beach. Will definitely be coming back in the future!!!

Great time making memories with family. Beach was beautiful and close to the property. No pool because of Covid 19, did not open while we were there. We were outside in the yard quite a bit and the ticks were horrible-would recommend some sort of treatment for the yard on a regular basis.

Great property with all amenities plenty of space and beds. Short walk from the beach. Very private beach all by ourself a. Internet wifi is slow spotty but also a blessing because the kids played with each other and want to go to the beach instead of on their phone. Getting work done is difficult though. Overall a great experience would highly recommend.
