This place has it all. Clean and spacious house with beach right infront. Kids and adults had a blast.

Great house with beautiful location. Beach access is a little difficult, but we had enough people that we also rented the house next door, so all worked out. Lots of space in the house. All rooms are adequate size for families.
We hope to return.

The house and location is just gorgeous, it has a wonderful view. The water is really clean. Private beach was great for kids to play in the water as well as sand. Property owner and manager both were very friendly and helpful. Property owner Mindy was great in communication and answering any questions we might have. Huge house with enough place for everyone. Enough open space for kids even inside the house. They provide kayak and life jackets which was great. Very clean and neat property. Will definitely suggest this place and will go back for sure myself.

We hosted a 50th wedding anniversary weekend for my parents with multiple families staying the weekend. We all thoroughly enjoyed the house as it was the perfect spot for such a large group. Everyone was happy with their rooms, the beds were comfortable and the host provided so many amenities such as dish soap, hand soap, shampoos, etc. It really allowed us to walk in and immediately start enjoying the beautiful property.

Great open main floor. Perfect for group activities. Since there is no screened porch, I was concerned about bugs in the evening. But sat outside and did not get one bite!
Convenient second kitchen and family room downstairs.
All bedrooms and bathrooms are a good size.
Beach was great for small children through adults.

Nice place, but wouldn't
e just spent a week at Inchgarth. Two adults, and five teens, plus one dog. While it was sometimes inconvenient to have no indoor access between the floors, it was nice to be able to give one group of teens their own space (the boys). Overall the house is set up well. In fact, there are some things we brought that we didn't end up needing, because they weren't listed as included items - hair dryers, beach chairs. (There are plenty of beach chairs.) We cooked dinner every night and found the kitchen to have most everything we needed. Note: the grocery stores are far, like 45 minutes. Buzzy's Store and Ridge Market don't have much more than booze and a few snacks, although the Dollar General was convenient and had more than we thought it would. In general, be prepared for not a lot of activities nearby or things for kids to do. The listing advertises "your own private beach," but due to the large rocks that statement is only true for a few hours a day during low tide. Our kids were kind of disappointed. Inchgarth feels like a house that was very well stocked....ten years ago. The kayaks (2) only have one working paddle between them. There are things that neighboring houses have that Inchgarth does not - water floaties, gas grill, that would be good to have. The house itself desperately needs to have the outside power-washed; it's covered in dead bugs and spider webs. Also there is a large section of soffit coming off one side that flaps in the wind. The deck is crowded, albeit with nice Frontgate furniture. Furniture inside includes ripped leather and pleather seating - an easy fix but one that has not been made. Slipcovers are filthy. We heard through the grapevine that the owner is a D.C. lobbyist who owns 10 of these homes; she should give them some attention. I had contacted her twice with questions, but never got any response. In sum, it was not a bad time at Inchgarth at all but we will not go back.

Family Reunion
The house was just right for our get together. Plenty of space to gather, play, eat, and relax. The location was a perfect meeting spot for visitors coming from The Jersey Shore, Myrtle Beach, and Cleveland.

Great Family Vacation
This was our 3rd trip to the area and you cannot beat the location…it is absolutely beautiful.
The house accommodated our family of 14 perfectly. Scotland has become our favorite place to vacation. The kitchen is adquately equipped. Outdoor fire pit was nice and plenty of chairs for around the fire. The family liked the outdoor shower.
Crabs were plentiful but the house could use a steamer pot. Property management was very responsive.
Great place for a family vacation!

Great Family Getaway
This property was great for our family getaway, there was plenty of room for everyone, the adults and kids enjoyed the private beach and swim area in the bay, was especially nice for the little kids as it was shallow for a good way and the waves were gentle, they never wanted to get out of the water. The older kids loved crabbing and fishing at the inlet up the beach a little ways and they enjoyed kayaking ( brought our own but 2 were supplied.) We enjoyed having fires every night in the fire pit and Elizabeth was always a call away when we needed more fire wood. We like to experience different locations every year but all the kids definitely want to come back here!!

We enjoyed it, it was a sunny time, some calm days with our full beach some windy days with some surge leading us to share the neighboring properties also owned by the same person... 7 bedrooms and many baths made it easy to have us all with our own rooms including kids... near by inlets make for a kayaking and crabbing adventure and finding rocks and shells and drift wood... Good space for indoor playing and we pulled some table together and were able to sit 15 together pretty easily.

Great family get together spot
We loved the setting and the views. We watched the osprey feeding their young from the deck. We saw bald eagles and pelicans fishing. The kitchen was fabulous, our cooks loved it. It was great to have the number of bedrooms and bathrooms to accommodate the family members. It was so nice to be in an area that was not commercial at all. A happy place for us.

We had a wonderful week at Inchgarth. Eight adults- Grandma and Grandpa (us), three adult kids and spouses, and three grandkids ages 5 years to 10 months old. There was lots of space for privacy, and great space for us to be together for meals and stargazing. The pluses for this property included: The beach outside our door, the friendly locals who didn’t mind us tromping through or using “their” beach for sandcastles, the kayaks, nearby jungle-like estuary, responsive caretakers, crabs to catch and eat for dinner! We cooked all our own meals at the house, in the nicely appointed kitchen. Groceries were not too far away when we needed things. This place is among our favorites of the past eight years, agreed upon by the whole family. The downside- biting flies down by the estuary. Be sure to bring bug spray, or even better, bug resistant clothing.

The following is my unanswered request to owner (called, texted and emailed).
Just as a reminder we never received a response from my Friday call. The top exterior door handles fell off when we arrived. It does not work and will not lock.
We have been staying at Scotland houses for many years and this time was a bit of a surprise. The beds are still wonderfully comfortable but the dishwasher bottom rack is too narrow and falls down. It has difficulty mechanically. The couch has a very large rip in the middle. Two of upstairs showers either won't stay closed or won't open -- only one works. And a loud clicking noise intermittently occurs in two downstairs bedrooms (interrupting sleep). Please note that with the snow and ice, I put sand on the steps and side walkway (slippery). However, one of our party slipped and fell on the bricks at the bottom level (she will soon undergo surgery for injured knee).
We are saddened by this degradation and hope our comments will encourage Peggy to return the property to good condition and guest response.

Our original plan was to have a wedding here in 2020 but needed to change location. We were able to push our reservation for a year. Did not have the big group, small and relaxed. Beautiful location. Only 2 negatives rocks no beach(shared tho), no cell service(good for escape). Knowing this we would still come back.

This was a great house for a long weekend getaway with the friends. It has all the amenities mentioned. House is nicely decorated and modern. The beach is literally in the back yard which makes it convenient and easy for all. Open floor plan so we all could interact together. Four bedrooms upstairs and 3 bedrooms downstairs. The two units do not join. Need to go outside to get to lower or upper house. No big deal. Great house, private.

The top floor has the most amazing view and is extremely comfortable. The Kitchen area is great and overall, the top floor was where we spent all of our indoor time except for using the bedrooms below for sleeping. We had a great time!
The lower level could use some updates - the cement floor was disappointing and lighting dim.
Having the beachfront right outside the property was wonderful and it was a short walk to a great crabbing location! We enjoyed our stay!

It was one of our best vacations. It was so great that we immediately rebooked this property for the next year. Great location, great house, great view, great property overall.
We had 12 adults (3 families) and one dog. Everybody (including dog :-) ) said that it's awesome place and we want to repeat the same experience next year. We used property's kayaks, cached crabs and fish, laying on the beach and on the grassed thin but wide strip right before the beach. We set up the gazebo we brought with us on that strip to hide from the sun. At night we had small bonfires and enjoyed unbelievable view. We swam a lot in the bay regardless of jellyfish (there were a lot of them this summer), but we hope there will be fewer of them next year.
The only negative impression (besides falling dishwasher) is the floor of the house's first floor. It is not painted cement with the marks of the previous tiles and a lot of small fragments. The first floor is a beautiful, fully finished, convenient independent apartment with everything you need, but this unpainted cold and dump cement floor with removed tiles makes impression of the basement. We hope it is temporary (maybe in the middle of remodeling) and will be fixed next year.
I'd like to use this opportunity and say THANK YOU VERY MUCH for our wonderful vacation.

very nice property...lots of room to spread out...we had 14 people total...everything was great except the dishwasher...it was not attached to the and kept falling forward...we called about it but the young man that came only put a piece of wood under the leg that wiggled out after using it once and went back to falling forward and almost smashing out feet.. Other than that it was a good place to stay and I would rent it again.

First, the bathrooms are updated, lovely and sparkling clean. The 2 kitchens are also mostly updated. The basement level - oops, beach level - kitchen is brand new, although not really equipped for much cooking.
The upstairs dishwasher was not properly bolted in place and fell forward when you opened the door. Watch your feet! I reported it and sent pictures; hopefully it has been fixed.
We had many problems with the internet and cell service. The property manager responded quickly but it took the internet company 2 days to make a service call. Our work-from-the-beach family members didn't stay.
Why do you want a beach house? If it's to sit on the deck, admire the view and watch the osprey nest, this is the place for you. If it's to walk out of your house and take a few steps to be on the beach, continue your search.
Yes, there is a beach in front of (or behind if you are staying on the "beach level"). In between, however, as you can plainly see from the pictures, is the impassable pile of rocks, visible in the pictures. So to access the beach you must cross on the corner of the neighbor's property either to the left or the right. The neighbors to the left have a barrier which must be either stepped over or climbed over, depending on the level of the water. The neighbors to the right had a dog that seemed to think that corner was the dog bathroom and left several presents for us. Look to the left. Look to the right. No other house up or down had a similar pile of rocks. When the water level was higher, they all have a beach and this house has none. So the non-swimmers sat on the grass behind the rock pile to watch the swimmers. Next thing we knew the beach walkers from adjacent houses were passing through a step or two from where we were sitting, No beach, so they cut through the property.
Next, let's address the stairs between the 2 levels. They are OUTSIDE only. I really think this should be clear in the listing, especially if the owner doesn't want to be dinged in the reviews. These stairs are steeper than most. More than half our stay, it was raining or wet and the stairs were VERY slippery. All ages of our party found the wet stairs dangerous. Also, the older members of our party found the steepness of the stairs hard on the knee and hip joints. In addition, the lack of interior stairs affected room assignments for our 3 generation family.
We have returned to other rentals. We will not return here.
