Location
This is not the first time for me that I’ve booked through Booking.com and ended up in an old, uncomfortable room, while the same hotels give bright, comfortable rooms when booked directly and for less money.
5.0
Large clean room. Very comfortable. Prime location. Staff friendly
2.5
Room size and layout was perfect. Check in was super easy, car park was great, entrance was beautiful and all very clean.
The bed! Absolutely disgusting, at first glance looked beautiful, until I got in 🤢
The pillows looked lovely and fluffy but no as I lay down I was flat to the bed, I now am in sheer agony in my back from my head being so flat to the bed, that was with 2 pillows provided. To which neither pillow had a pillow protector on 🤢
The duvet was full of stains, dark circles. The matress was visable with a topper on, not uncomfortable but I could see previous marks which made me feel sick. If I had my own pillow i wouldn’t have had a bad back as the comfort was ok. No mattress protector on matress under the topper which is gross. I thought Marriott was meant to be more upmarket but I’ll stick to Premier in now.

Location
It’s over rated. Don’t even provide the basic necessities we need like toothbrush or slippers. For the price we paid, we can get a better service somewhere else. Been staying in Marriott on our past holidays but this is one of the worst.

Great location tidy hotel
The breakfast wasn't great
3.5
In an excellent location for the city centre and utilitia arena.
A little bit tired and dated. We had a room that was clearly a disability room, sit in shower, cords to pull in an emergency, one chair and table in a huge room to provide access (I assume) for a wheelchair. It was dated, the shower was not really suitable for an able bodied person and neither myself or my wife used it which is unheard of during our city breaks. Corridors down to the ground floor dark, in need of a lick of paint , and a little depressing. Bistro on the bottom floor was lovely, car park handy, location great, staff super friendly, just need to get the hotel sorted re decor etc.. and all good

We did not have breakfast
We had evening meal in restaurant at 6pm it was very disappointing they had run out of 4 dishes which left an extremely poor choice. The were major events going on in Cardiff that night but you would think the restaurant would have been pro active and made catering preparations to serve a heavier footfall that what they usually experienced. We paid top prices for meals that were not our first choice and there was not even a gesture of a goodwill offered. We saw other guest get up and leave due to them running out of dishes.

Lovely bathroom, comfortable bed and tea and coffe facilities
Room was very warm and air con not really working efficiently. No drawers for clothes only hanging space and television picture kept disappearing when we were watching something.
3.5
Location excellent for city centre
It was somewhat run-down for a prestige hotel.

Great location
Very busy in the bar and restaurant
Not much storage or dressing table in room.
Difficult to find stairs when 2 lifts not working

location
signage to hotel poor..staff couldn’t cope with the number of guests. Only 2 on reception but long check in queue whilst 3 managers did nothing (including g the hotel manager) Then waited 20 minutes for a lift as one broken and we were on the 9th floor. The executive lounge was a total waste of money… only a few crisps and popcorn on offer during the day. For over £300 for the night it was a shambles.

Breakfast was lovely and lots to choose from.
Room was clean and had everything I needed.

Checked in an hour earlier as our room was ready. My Mum was still sleeping when I went for breakfast, we were allowed to go separately. Excellent location.
Milk in room was stale. Long queue at Reception because people were checking-in, an idea would be to have someone available to guests that have already checked-in.

Breakfast was unexceptional. Ate over the road the second morning

Room was cosy as expected.
Room was not quiet though and there was city center noise of downside pubs.

The location is amazing. Close to the shops and restaurants night life.
The bedroom wasn’t very well equipped. There was no dressing table. The bathroom was very high to get in to. There was no indication that the car park was £18 per night. The breakfast was mediocre compared to other Marriott’s that we have stayed in. The staff seemed nonplussed and I helpful.
