Todo fue perfecto. Sin duda un lugar al que volver. Gracias por toda la información compartida. Limpieza muy buena. Terraza perfecta para ver amanecer.
Gracias por esta experiencia a los tres.

Would highly recommend staying at this hostel. Very easy going, friendly and laid back staff, but at the same time very helpful, accommodating and available as needed. Very clean. We loved the roof terrace!

Quirky, lovely terrace, super insightful mezcal tour. Jasper and Mary were the most fantastic, helpful hosts you could ask for!

Good location, nice terrace and comfy beds.
Our room only had one window, connected directly to the bathroom. We could basically hear everything that happened in the bathroom at all times, which as you can imagine is not very ideal. There was also no direct sunlight to the room which made it quite dark.
We also requested to change the dates of our stay due to a problem with our next booking and they instantly refused.

My partner and I stayed at casa el Munro initially only for 3 nights and extended by 2 more, we could have stayed probably much longer if we had the time. Jasper and Mary were by far the best hosts we have ever had. They gave us all the information we needed to avoid tourist traps and even kept helping us with any questions we had after we left. Our ancestral mezcal tour with Jasper is still by far the high light of our trip in Mexico and we hope to stop by again if we pass Oaxaca on our way back towards the pacific coast! thank you for everything!!

The location

Our stay in Oaxaca was wonderful, Jasper and Mary are great hosts and kindly assisted us with our travel plans. The roof terrace is a lovely place to hang out and meet people. I would definitely recommend a stay at Casa El Mundo if you visit Oaxaca!

Nice hostel near Oaxaca centre with a great community terrace and bar service. Recommendations for tours to Hierve del Agua and other nearby attractions.
The hostel is located on one of the main roads so it was quite noisy but ok for a night or two.

Excellent location on the edge of the old city centre. Super friendly and helpful staff made us feel really welcome and at home. Thankyou Jasper and Mary!
The room was near the entrance so a bit noisy but not a real issue

how communicative the owners were about the issues that Oaxaca faces with water. I also had an issue with the toilet which they fixed immediately!
nothing in particular.

Very clean, friendly stuff, very helpful with check in and check out, good recommendations for the city! Good location everything is within walking distance. Nice rooftop!
The problem with the water could happen anywhere in the city, I quess. The guys were trying really hard to fix it.

The owner Jasper was a lovely guy and helped us in so many ways. He sent advanced communications about our stay and was very helpful with other communications and advice during and after our stay. We left something at the hostel and helped us to his utmost to rectify our mistake.

great communal space
lovely terrace
hot water
spacious rooms
spacious toilets
could do with better windows to block out noise from the main road on those rooms near the roadside.
a second pillow per person would be good

comfortable bed, good price and friendly owners. candles in the bedroom is a great touch. free drinking water. quiet at night
no daylight in the room, door on the room is a pain to use

Nice quiet area, the rooftop was cute Although super windy. Needs more than 1 old stretched out hammock, your butt touches the floor in it.
The room looked nothing like the picture. It was dark and depressing. The toilets were 2 feet from our heads so we could hear everything going on in there, including the guy up all night puking. The bedroom door sometimes locked behind you, not great for going to the toilet in the middle of the night. Was locked out twice, thankfully my roommate was inside. The couple across the hall wasn't so lucky.
* Edit* We did not smoke in the room, we threw our outside buts in our garbage can because are are almost zero garbages in the city. The level always smelled like cigarettes from the terrace.
If that rooms claim to fame is it's "the cheapest room in the city" then it should be described as it actually is. . . Windowless with the music of the toilets.

rooms were very basic & old. The beds were not good.

the rooftop is great! they have good Mezcal for sale for cheap. the beds were super comfortable!
the pictures definitely seem a lot nicer than the actuality of the establishment. the manager provides great recommendations, but there was something cold about our last impressions with them… I think overall we maybe had high hopes for the accommodation that were unrealistic.

Great Location, staff were very friendly and helpful!
could be a bit noisy at night, but not the hotels fault.

Very cool host team. Provided a lot of information about Oaxaca. Everything clean. Good Mezcal.
There was a water shortage in Oaxaca so they were out of water for some hours. But the team managed the situation very fast.
