About this cottage rental
A one bedroom bright and cheery cottage which is one of 3 on this property that was completely renovated in 2012. It is walking distance to town. The focal point is the large screened front porch with a table and chairs for dining, and a wicker loveseat and chair for relaxing. Its the perfect place to unwind after a busy day of sight seeing or to sip a cup of coffee in the morning. The kitchen has everything you need to cook any meal. And the full bathroom has a shower/tub combo. The bedroom has a queen bed while the living area has a full size sofa bed. TV/cable and internet are included, with games and books for your enjoyment also. It is a short walk to town and to the Straights. (The cottage is not waterfront). And a quick drive gets you to the Headlands Dark Sky Park, sandy beaches, and the UP. We feel this is ideal for 2 people, but can sleep 3 or 4 if really needed.
If this is booked or if you are interested in waterfront a few miles out of town, please check out the site for “Pointe West”. The address is Carp Lake, but it’s located on Lake Michigan between Mackinaw City and Wilderness State Park.

Brother and his wife stayed here with their 11 year old. Comfortable and clean. Pullout couch was nice for the young child. Very enjoyable stay!

This cottage was perfectly located, close to the downtown area yet still quiet and private. We enjoyed our stay and have already recommended it to some friends.

This cottage is exactly as advertising! The covered porch was peaceful and relaxing. The interior is exactly as it is in the photos-just adorable. It creates a wonderful "cottage like" experience. The bedroom is a bit small, but it's exactly what you'd expect for a cottage. Shepler's ferry is within easy walking or biking distance. Starline is a bit further. We had our bikes and it was an easy, beautiful 8 min ride. There is a small market nearby, which is also within walking distance, which we didn't have a chance to visit. We opted to bring our food with us. The kitchen has an ample supply of items you would need to cook your own meal. Jacki was very responsive through booking and departing. We didn't have any issues during our stay though. Highly recommend!

This is our 4th visit to this property and second to this particular cottage. We were fortunate enough to meet the owners this visit and tell them, in person, how much we have enjoyed visiting over the years. The neighborhood is nice and quiet, but just a short walk to town. These owners really care about their property and making improvements and we appreciate that. Unfortunately, the dates we chose for next year are already booked, but we plan to return somtime soon. Thanks again for sharing your cottage and nice meeting you both!

Nice little place. All we needed. Very convenient location in a great town.

Outstanding location. Thoughtfulness went into all the accommodations. Slight complication…bathroom sink would not drain entire week we were there, even after owner attempted to fix it. A small refund would have gone a long way for the inconvenience it created all week.

We loved your little house. Nicely decorated and clean. The water pressure and tub draining was the only thing that might need some attention. Other than that it was perfect! Thank you for sharing your little house

We really enjoyed staying in this lovely little cottage. The decor is lovely and the cottage feels very homey and cozy. We particularly liked the screened-in front porch.
The location is great - we were able to bike to the ferry, which was convenient.

Cute little cottage in a great location! The screened porch and fire pit are nice amenities. However, not much space for your items (clothing, personal items) and no instructions for the tv. We’ve stayed in a lot of VRBOs and this is the only one that didn’t supply at least a couple rolls of toliet paper and paper towels. Overall, nice place, clean and quiet area.

We booked for the location to Headlands Dark Park. We’re fortunate enough clear skies so we can enjoy a beautiful sunset and all the stars. But we also took the ferry to Mackinac Island and rode bikes around the Island. Drove over the Mackinac Bridge to walk the state park. It’s was a Thursday so we made the farmers market.
Great little cottage that’s within walking of downtown for dinner and shopping.
Enjoyed the screen porch playing cards and drinking Michigan Red wine.
Cottage was clean and comfortable for the two of us.

My husband and I stayed here for our first trip to Mackinaw. The cottage couldn't have been cleaner or cuter! Inside and out were immaculate and adorable. The screened porch was so welcoming and a great place to read or to have dinner. Location is so close to Mackinaw City shopping, restaurants and the ferry, you really can park your car and walk everywhere. The owners are fast to respond to any question you might have. What a beautiful place to visit, don't hesitate to book this one. I wanted to bring this little cottage home with me! Enjoy your stay.

This was our second visit, but first time in this cottage. First thing we noticed were the new air conditioning added to all the cabins. It is much improved over the older window units. The keyless entry is always a nice feature. We were able to enjoy the Friday night fireworks right from our fire pit. We really enjoy this property and how it is walking distance to downtown and the Island ferry. We have already booked for next year. Thanks so much!

My husband and I stayed here from June 23-27 to celebrate our 34th wedding anniversary. The cottage was cute, clean, and conveniently located in Mackinaw City. The property owners were responsive to questions, and the rental process was quick and easy. I highly recommend this property and if we return, will definitely rent again.

This little cottage was so cozy and adorable! My husband and I stayed for our anniversary weekend over Memorial Day and we were so impressed. The cottage is exactly as you see it in the photos. It’s very clean, nicely decorated, has most everything you need for a comfortable stay, and it’s location is absolutely perfect. You are about a 2 minute drive from downtown Mackinaw City. Many good restaurants and fun shops in the area. Back to the cottage! The bed and pillows were very comfortable. The kitchen has dishes, utensils, a coffee pot, and much more for you to use during your stay. The fire pit was so nice to have, especially since there is firewood for $5 RIGHT NEXT to the pit. Very convenient! I will say- this is a set of 3 cottages, so there could be others outside nearby having a fire as well. This didn’t bother us as we loved meeting new people. But just a heads up if you want seclusion. :) I can’t recommend this place enough. 10/10 ⭐️!!

This place is perfect for a couple looking to get away from the normal motel experience. Very comfortable and private. If you have more than one couple or a family looking for a nice place to stay, you could rent all three properties on the grounds.

The cabin had everything you could want or need! We stopped by a market on our way in to grab groceries and cooked several meals very easily at the cabins. Hot water was instant and very hot which made washing and dishes easy. We loved the porch! Comfortable beds, clean bathroom, great location! Can’t ask for more and will be back!

Discovered this place last year for the bridge walk and couldn't wait to get it booked again for this year. Very nice getaway.

Overall we were pretty happy there. A nice easy walk to town, and the Old fort, and Lighthouse just across the main bridge road. Very convenient.
We felt it needed a few things to really stand out. The owners definitely put a lot of time and energy to remodel and create a cool environment, but it felt as if things have not been maintained over time in some areas, simple items that are easily taken care of.
1. A general deep cleaning, Baseboards, Outside Cob webs. Simple stuff and shows attention to detail. Ie.. There was 4 pillows, medium firm, but only had two pillow cases. The other 2 pillows were in plastic, and had some stains on them, no pillow cases for those two. I've never seen that before. We were bummed about that.
2. General maintenance is needed. Tub Grout and Caulk, Toilet handle.
3. A newer Bed and Linens** would add to the feel of something more up scale considering todays high prices for everything. The Bed is Cozy at best, but really needs to be replaced. it's time. I simply couldn't get comfortable. Your mileage may vary though..
4. A couple mouse traps might be in order as well, although to be fair you are staying in a cabin with that potential no matter where your at in upper Michigan.
5. Porch screens need some tending for small tears.
6. Some new bath rugs are desperately needed. They're cheap these days.
Even with all the I feel is needed, it's still a nice place to stay, and enjoy Mackinaw and is worth the trip.

My husband and I had a great time with our twin 2 year old girls. The screened in porch was great for keeping an eye on them while sipping our morning coffee. Loved the proximity to town/ferries/water.

Very nice location for everything we wanted to see! Short drive(could even walk) to the Mackinac Island ferry. Many places to eat nearby. Great little screened in porch. Perfect cottage for a couple.
