I love everything!! It was amazing! The food was absolutely delicious and it was a lot! And the room was really beautiful and cleaned! Futon were so comfy they appear a piece of cloud and the private onsen with the beach view! I enjoy every day of my stay!

Beautiful sea view. Having a private outdoor onsen bath is magic .
Some old equipments inside de room.
The location is not convenient

Breakfast was very good, and staff in dining room were great. Staff at reception not as friendly and don't speak much English. Location was alright as we have a car. Enjoyed the complimentary water, green tea and Asahi beer. Convenient parking.
Rooms were dated and ventilation could be better. Online photos for the rooms look much better than in reality.

(1) Great services. The staff members were attentive and helpful. (2) Onsen. I had an amazing sea-facing private onsen in my room.

The hotel is located right at the seaside and my room has a view of the sea, including the private onsen. Our room was in the club wing away from the tour groups and there was a small club lounge on the ground floor. Dinner buffet had free flow of snow crab legs.
Breakfast and dinner spreads are quite basic and buffet style, although our room entitled us to a special dish each meal. Compared to the lakes, the sea view wasn't as beautiful or calming. The counter staff did not even inform us that there was a club lounge, we discovered it by accident on our way from the lift lobby. Staff had difficulties conversing in English and once even forgot to serve us our special dish during mealtime. We also had to remind them everyday to set up the futon beds. Basically it is a tourist class hotel with a slightly more upmarket club room with onsen and rates are pretty expensive.

fantastic accommodation
the dinner and breakfast accommodation was amazing- great selection of delicious high-quality food, especially enjoyed the fresh seafood! the specials for each meal were an added bonus
public onsens were relaxing and easy to use, and the private onsen in our room was lovely and peaceful
walking distance from a delicious highly rated ramen place for lunch, and an easy drive around sights around hakodate
highly recommend
we were not used to the futons and the flat/hard pillows so we found it quite uncomfortable to sleep at night
only two small lounge chairs for 2 people (we had five) so most of us were sitting on floor mats when relaxing in our room- which wasn't too often anyway!

This hotel is located in a nice spot by the beach a bit further out from the main Hakodate town center. The view from this hotel is amazing. I really liked the outdoor onsen on level 4 and having a private onsen in my room just completed the trip. I was there in winter so it was really nice seeing the snow fall whilst soaking in the onsen. There is a good selection of good quality food at the buffet breakfast and dinner. They had king crab legs during dinner time which was very popular amongst the guests.
Hanatsuki is almost like a club room because it is a separate section of the Heiseikan Shiosaitei hotel. You have access to a private Hanatsuki lounge as well where they would serve you drinks and snacks.
Overall, this hotel was a perfect hotel to celebrate our Valentine's day. It was a good hotel to relax and wind down after the 2 weeks of exploration we did around Japan.
Not a complaint because I really enjoyed the food but I was expecting a kaiseki style dinner and breakfast. They provided one special dish for each meal and the rest of the food was from the buffet selection. I should have looked a bit more into it but this is definitely not a deal breaker because the buffet food was amazing.

The room was very nice, and the private bath gets a clear sea view.
The heater might get a little bit warm at night and the location is best to go by taxis to get there if you are holding a number of luggage.

1. The room is super spacious.
2. The living room and the private bath have ocean view.
3. The mini bar is free of charge.
4. Staff was very helpful and friendly.
5. It's reachable by public buses (95, 95A and 96) from/to Hakodate station.
6. Dinner was awesome. The varieties were beyond expectation. They even served free-flow crabs.
7. Breakfast was great as well. It's better than any hotels I've ever stayed around the globe.
8. Amenities were all provided in the room (unlike other hotels in Japan these days).
1. The futon was a bit hard.
2. There was no way to control the room temperature. It was a bit warm, so I was sweating all night.
