Fantastic facilities and approach of staff. The Kaiseki dinner was superb.
All was perfect
4.5
Sehr schönes Hotel mit traditionellen Ryokan und westlich eingerichteten Zimmern. Uns hat es im Ryokan Zimmer sehr gut gefallen. Das private Onsen ist wirklich schön.
4.0
Amazing onzen in the hotel itself. The private onzen is not cheap but absolutely worth it, really beautiful! The dinner menu was also impressive.
The Japanese-style rooms are also much bigger than the 19sqm indicated on booking.com
View from the room was basically a parking lot, so not quite the lush greenery you may expect. The breakfast and the dining room are still a step away from the truly luxurious Ryokan experience.
4.5
Very friendly service with amazing facilities.
A bit out of the center but they have a bus service or you can take a bike.

Staff were very friendly and helpful.
Hotel smelled good and was kept clean. Our whole family was surprised and excited for the stay upon entering.

The location of the hotel is next to the forest. Suitable for relaxation that requires peace from nature surrounding . The size of the hotel is quite large and new. Can walk to see in the pedestrian area not very far. Alternatively, you can use the hotel's shuttle bus service. The hotel has a very good spa service and has its own private hot spring. Excellent caring staff

I loved the service rendered by the staff at this hotel; very friendly and helpful. They are very gracious in welcoming guests and ensuring the guests are comfortable at all times. The room is spacious; bathroom is big and even has a chair for the ladies to sit to do makeup. The toilet bowl is so smart that it can auto lift up when it sense your presence. I was so impressive by it ! The 12-course dinner is excellent ! The ingredients are fresh, nicely cook and well presented to the guests. The staff who served us the meals is very courteous and takes his time to explain each course to us.
None, though the breakfast for the Western variety can be improved.

This place was so beautiful and amazing!!! The facilities and onsen were very nice and beautiful. The view from the room was breathtaking. They allowed us to leave our bags there and use the onsen in the hotel before even checking in! The staff is so funny, nice, and attentive. Dinner is even served in the room. After dinner, they put out your futons to sleep. The futons were nice and fluffy! It was overall a very fantastic stay. Breakfast buffet was by far the best breakfast we have had!
The food during dinner was a little lacking in flavor, but breakfast buffet made up for it!

The hotel lobby

The staff, lobby cafe with the view, the bath on site. The gift shop was surprisingly good and has many goods, prices comparable to the other shops in town.
Some parts of the hotel is a bit old but still very well maintained

Everything! The private bath was particularly amazing.

We were able to get a vegan kaiseki dinner after organising with the ryokan. The dinner was beyond our expectations, so were the staff. Beautiful onsen inside the hotel.
Honestly, nothing.

Beautiful and clean. Excellent and attentive staff. Staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and comfortable. Rooms were the largest I’ve seen in Japan. Onsen area was wonderful. The bar area was peaceful and gift shop provided all the last minute necessities for gifts.

Hotel staff were very kind and helpful in all situations for this primarily English traveller. Amenities available once on site were even greater than I expected - if you book through their own site, or message them ahead of time, you can book (for a fee) a couple of awesome services such as private access to a choice of hot springs and/or different spa treatments. Hotel Shogetsutei's half board is tremendously excellent - the breakfast is a wonderful all-you-can-eat buffet with lots of choice (Japanese & 'Western' options present), and while the dinner changes based on the season, when I went, it was definitely just the right amount of food.

Breakfast is great. English speaking at reception helped a lot.
Quiet zone of the area ,even if a bit far but reachable with walking
Nice dinner in your room.
A bit stuffy nose from allergy person.
Smell from food could make the room a bit unpleasure for sensitive person.

It was out of my expectation to find such a foreigner-friendly facility in remote area in Japan. The dinner had a extremely high quality and the buffet breakfast was also exceptional.
Considering the amount of food provided for the dinner, I think it would be better if some snacks could be provided.

The room & hotel facilities were impressive. The lobby & room interior is beautiful & comfy! It’s very well managed & impeccably clean! The location of the hotel is a bit of a walk to Kinosaki Onsen Downtown, but the hotel provide shuttle but every 30 mins!! We love loveeee the onsen facilities, and the Keiseki dinner is great, esp the snow crab! The hotel staffs are very friendly, & super hospitability! We definitely enjoy our stay!! The breakfast is buffet japanese (& a bit western) style & we enjoyed it very much so.
we have had keiseki dinner in different ryokans, for us, the snow crab they served is extremely fresh & suits our taste bud, but not some of the dishes or appetizers. However, we were not expert in Japanese cuisine.. so we may not be the best judge of this. Nevertheless, we love our stay!!!!
