La vista y la cercanía a la playa, esta cerca de lugares cómo punta cometa, cerca de la calle principal de Mazunte, el desayuno sabe muy rico.
El baño podría mejorar.

Direct access to the beach, the views, the included breakfast menu was good. Sunset beers in the pool.
Kind of to be expected but the wifi was really slow, almost unusable. The staff while always helpful seemed a bit grumpy.

Spectacular location with panoramic views across Mazunte (for the price, the views here are unbeatable). The hillside location is also convenient in the hot weather because you get a lovely breeze. 5 minute walk down steps to main beach or down the road to the main strip. We had a superb breakfast included and also had lunch here once - my husband's aguachile was one of the best he'd ever had. Lots of bird life to watch from the infinity pool. Pool was very clean and a great temperature. Overall, the hotel was very quiet with other couples and small families - we had no problems with noise during our stay.
The pool area could do with more loungers and cushions. Some of the cushions were dirty and some of the wooden chairs didn't have any.
In our opinion, the rooms are basic for the price (although we got a discount through here so the price we paid was quite fair). We stayed in the double with terrace - we had a bed, table with 2 chairs, a safe, one bedside lamp, and a rack to hang clothes. The terrace had a table with a chair, a wooden lounge chair, and a hammock. However, for us, the pool and the view were what we paid for. We would recommend a room with AC for comfort.
Be prepared for bugs and the odd crab in your room - this didn't bother us at all as we travel a lot and know that this is normal in tropical climates. However, some guests may not be prepared for this!

beautiful views, great location,
ants and cockroaches in room (to be expected to a certain extent). A/C dripping water on me in the night was disappointing. to be fair, they fixed it the next day

We had an amazing view from our balcony and everything was very close - the main beach of Mazunte has been accessible with a distance of a view meters. To reach the beautiful beach of Mermejtia took approximately 5-10min. there have also been plenty restaurants, yoga studios and the start of whale watching tours in the surroundings as well as the famous sunset point Punta Cometa. The balcony was huge and had a beautiful hamac. Furthermore, the food at the hotel restaurant (we had included breakfast) was very tasty. the swimming pool had a good size and also a very good view. the bed was very comfortable.
We had ants in our room (normal in this clima) and there was much light in the room. During the night, our neighbour was at her balcony and we heard a lot of her conversation.

The View was amazing and the pool was perfect. The bed was pretty comfy and the hammocks outside the room made it ideal to hang out during the night!
The restaurant menu was good.
They tried to charge me more on my restaurant bill when checking out and as much as I'd like to believe this was an honest mistake, it saddens me to say that as a Mexican I know this was intentional, therefore I asked for a breakdown of my account and as expected there were trying to add more to my total bill.
Keep this in mind wherever you go in Mexico.

Pool with beautiful seaview
Even though the cottages were cute, it hasn’t been maintained properly and there are many different insects in the rooms (loads of ants, mosquitos, flies). It was not good value for our money. If you prefer a clean room without insects, I’d recommend you to pick a room with AC. The staff did help us to change rooms, which was nice.

Most stunning view I have ever had from a hotel room and from the restaurant/infinity pool area. The hotel room was large, clean, air-con worked and had a hot shower, which we often didn’t find travelling around Mexico. It was lovely to fall asleep to the waves crashing on the beach. Plus at a moderate price. I would seriously find it hard to believe that there is anywhere better to stay in Mazunte!
Great location with a 5mins walk down the steps to the best part of the beach. Short walk down to the Main Street where the bakery, restaurants, shops and ATMs are. It was also close to the top 2 attractions in Mazunte:
1. Punta Cometa (15mins Walk to a point with beautiful views. Everyone goes to watch the sunset. If you are daring, go earlier, 4pm and you can climb down to the rock pool and have a swim)
2. Laguna Ventanilla (15mins Drive/50mins walk from Mazunte) -
In terms of the lagoon tour there are two companies.
* Lagarto Real (RED SHIRTS, located at the end of the road closest to the beach) 120 pesos per person. The tour was in Spanish which we didn’t understand, but we enjoyed it very much anyway
* Servicios Ecoturisticos La Ventanilla (WHITE SHIRTS) REVIEWS WOULD SUGGEST THEY ARE A BIT DODGY
Leonard our hotel manager at Altamira was super helpful. Providing us a room with an awesome view as requested. He also helped to book our flight to Oaxaca via Aerotucan as we don’t speak/read Spanish. To top it off, he also gave great advice on where to go to eat;
Food & Drink (Ticks are the ones we tried)
Smoothies
- El Tiburón ✅ Tropical Bowl was our favourite.
Lunch
- La negra ✅ Chill place to sit and view the beach. Has the best shrimp tacos, guacamole and aqua de melon.
- Tertulia
Dinner 6pm
- La tribu
- Fish and love ✅ Tasty shrimp dinner
Dinner neighbouring town
- El navegante
The hotel was getting renovated after storm damage but to be honest the repairs didn’t affect our stay at all.
There are some mosquitoes but if you use the air-con in the room they stay away.

The swimming pool and views from the cabaña and pool+restaurant are beautiful
We were very disappointed about the cabana. It is super outdated/old and extremely hot, it also wasn’t clean on arrival. Not all windows have curtains, and it was very easy to get into the cabana without a key and despite that there was no locker or anything to safe valuables. Didn’t feel safe. The staff (only a few people) didn’t really make you feel welcome, a lack of personal contact. And last but not least: we booked this because it has a restaurant/bar, but that closes in the early afternoon. you’re not able to have a drink or snack at the pool and also can’t use a fridge for your own stuff. This place really needs some more attention and improvement of cabanas, because it could be so much better with the beautiful location and garden!

pool was great, views were great. Food was good but not great. No Internet in the rooms. It is very rustic but that is part of the charm

The location was very beautiful and close to town with amazing views and right next to Punta Cometa viewpoint. The pool was pretty clean and the restaurant had good food.
The room was surface level clean, there was spider webs and the floors was semi clean. They offered laundry services and when our clothes were returned we were missing clothes! The beds seemed clean but at our last night we got bitten everywhere by bugs, we really hope they were not bed bugs!

Comfortable king size bed, soft linens, hot water, amazing view from private w hammock on private Patio and free breakfast. Overall quiet. Sometimes upstairs guests were a bit loud but not terrible. Usually the noise is the waves crashing at the beach. No dogs or roosters!! I fell in love with my room and the privacy and tranquility. There's also a great walkway to mermejita beach away from the crowd!
No wifi in room but it was good to not check phone, lights from walkway blare into the rooms so need an eye mask or sleep w shutters closed, not much breeze from the sea or from the fan through the mosquito net so best to keep shutters closed during the day and rest in the hammock outside. The restaurant service and food hit or miss. Rooms are a bit dated for the price but they are renovating the property this summer. Lots of stairs to restaurant. A few to the beach (easier to walk up from the beach).

OMG the best view ever!! It has a swimming pool, with a view at the ocean. It's amazing! You can take the stairs from there, down to the beach. Just a 2 min walk. The beach is super nice, one of the few places where you can actually swim. It's one of the best places to be!
Rooms are very basic

The location is perfect. Sitting on a hill between the town and La Punta Cometa. You have everything on your doorstep. Each morning, I'd wake up early to hike and enjoy the stunning cliffs of La Punta Cometa. In the afternoon you can laze and eat by the pool enjoying the lunch and breakfast options, as well as THE BEST view of the ocean. (We saw whales!) To get to the beach or town, its less than a 5 minutes walk.
Definitely choose the more luxurious options for the room. The newer builds are great, modern, comfortable and get fewer insects. AC is a blessing here and well worth the upgrade!

the location was fantastic. it had a beautiful view of the ocean and a nice walking oath to the beach. it was easy to walk into town and yet have a quiet spot to listen to the ocean.

location and the view are very nice!
this is not a 4* in nothing. maybe 1-2 stars but don't see how.. construction workers from 6:45am, grumpy staff at the restaurant (poor food and expensive), the rooms where 'okay'.
wouldn't recommend the place.
