Lovely cosy cottage with helpful owner.

Cosy and well equipped

Dangerous arrangement on top landing With nothing to hold on to. Two steps out of shower, again nothing to aid elderly guests.

An unexpectedly warm and comfortable place to stay.

The location was excellent for us. Walking distance into the city centre, or on a bus route for those who prefer not too. On a main road, but quiet inside and quite spacious rooms - especially trhe bedrooms. Had everything we needed. Supermarket and car parking directly opposite. Very reasonable price.

The sofa was too low, uncomfortable and looked too worn. The stairs may be too steep for some people, but fine for us.

Wonderful , cosy cottage in a lovely town.

Second visit and will definitely keep coming to this lovely cottage. Melbourne is a lovely town with good shops and plenty of good eating places. Sarah is an excellent host.

Cosy and clean house in a lovely English town. Appeared to be recently renovated, to a high standard.

Low beams upstairs are a hazard but thats part of the character of an old house.

A Lovely Short Relaxing Break

Easy to find, easy to (street) park. Cosy, historic cottage sympathetically modernised in quiet area. Short stroll to village centre. Both centrally heated and fitted with a lovely log burner. Fabulous comfy beds.

For us nothing, steep stairs would be a problem for the elderly and children. Being picky there were no fire lighters and minimal kindling. There are over head aircraft but minimal noise.

Cute cottage

Lovely little cottage with everything you need for a breakaway. Easy walk into Melbourne, highly recommend The Spirit Vaults for food and friendly staff. Did a lovely walk to Breedon on the hill, many more walks can be done from the area.

Very good

The cottage is superb. Very clean, comfortable and warm. We were able to park very close (street parking) too. Lovely village, lots to see and do in the area. One room opens onto a narrow step to the stairs, the other has the landing outside the bathroom so we put the kids in that room.

I would definitely return for either a short break or as a base for the event I attended in the area

Sarah was very accommodating throughout our stay, arranging for me to have access to the property from early on in the day. This alone made our stay so much more convenient due to the opening times of the event we were attending. Sarah was readily available to answer any questions and was always helpful.

I can honestly say I can think of nothing that I felt i'd missed out on during my stay.

Sshhhh keep this hidden gem a secret......When can we go back!!!

Well, we will definitely be back!! The cottage was toasty warm and cosy, when we arrived late at night.....it was perfect for a romantic short break. It is perfectly located, well equipped, tastefully decorated and very comfortable. The double bed was super comfy, the facilities, such as the large shower, were excellent. A lovely well equipped kitchen/diner was absolutely fine for rustling up our breakfast. We ate out at night but would find the kitchen perfectly adequate for cooking a meal, enough space and a good oven/hob....even a washing machine. The cottage location is just perfect....a few minutes walk down into town with gorgeous independent shops, cafes and restaurants. A good chinese takeaway is also close and fish and chip shop. We can recommend the pubs and restaurants and found the locals very friendly. There are some lovely walks and the cottage owner included useful literature on local walks. We particularly enjoyed the morning walk around Melbourne Pool, out of the cottage and turn left down Penn Lane. All in all, we fell in love with the town of Melbourne, and also with this cottage, and we cannot wait to go back!

The only downside, which is quite minor, was the awkward step from the main front bedroom to the bathroom....as I am if a certain age, I was worried about late night dashes to the loo and this step looked a bit precarious! We opted to sleep in the rear double bedroom and it was fine.....oooh and larger bath towels needed!

Fantastic relaxing property, like home from home

The property was outstanding, clean and comfortable. Well furnished kitchen and cosy living room area to relax in. Bathroom clean and excellent shower facilities. Would definately revisit when in area.
