Everything about our stay was perfect from the building to Allison the host. We wanted a break away from everything for my wife's 40th to rest and relax and this was the perfect place for that, it was peaceful and for the day felt like Lord and lady of the Manor. Allison was an amazing host and was so attentive to our needs. It was such a pleasure to meet someone who is so so proud of what she does with exceptional knowledge of the building and history. The hard work and effort her family have put in to restore this beautiful building is amazing, yes she owns the building but she is proud to be the custodian to share with the world.
If anyone wants a get away this is the perfect place, you can shut yourself off from the world, go for beautiful scenic walks or a 10 minute drive to the charming matlock town/Bath. Highly recommend to anyone. We will certainly return
Thank you Allison for an amazing stay at your home.
Nothing, it was a perfect stay.

Wonderful warm reception by Alison who was the perfect host. Everything was excellent, location, room, breakfast (with gluten free options) and the bed was exceptionally comfortable.
The unique ambiance and experience that Riber Hall Manor provided made the whole weekend very special. Will definitely highly recommend and look forward to returning - Thank You

Historical building - very atmospheric and wonderfully yet sympathetically restored. Super welcome from the host Alison who was most helpful and knowledgeable about local restaurants for dinner
Parking was quite tricky.
4.7
The location and views were incredible, our host Alison was extremely friendly and went above and beyond to make us feel very welcomed and comfortable. It was lovely to hear all about the history of the property and furniture. The note cards in the room explaining the features was a lovely touch and the offer of fresh milk for our tea was appreciated. The bed was extremely comfortable and the room felt very clean which is sometimes difficult to achieve in a period property.
We felt the size of the room, experience from the host, comfort and cleanliness in addition to the opportunity to stay somewhere with so much history was exceptional value for money.
Nothing really - my only suggestion would be to offer a slightly better selection of toiletries in the bathroom ie conditioner/ better quality products but that really is nitpicking. some people may dislike the continental only breakfast options but as we knew this in advance we hadn’t expected otherwise.

Beautiful property with a fascinating history. Very comfortable room and lovely breakfast. Excellent hospitality

It was an amazing experience and treat to stay in an historic building so lovingly and carefully presented in an original form. As stated by other reviews, Alison was a very kind, informative, and interesting host sharing so much information about the house and the surrounding area. She looked after us very well. She shared information of where to eat, and an information sheet provided in the room with further ideas.
Additionally, all 'hotel'-like support was offered. The large bed was incredibly comfortable with high thread-count sheets, we had access to a fridge, tea and coffee was provided, and lovely bath products available to use in the bathroom alongside fluffy towels.
Sitting for breakfast in what can only be described as a museum room, with amazing views, was incredible.
I prefer a more varied breakfast. However, fruit, toast, cereal, juice, and tea/coffee may be a breakfast choice enjoyed by others.

beautiful location, wonderful building
Very cold in the bedroom, not preheated for our visit and the bed was icy hit an afternoon nap. soon warmed up with central heating and radiator provided but would have appreciated a reasonable room temp on arrival at 5pm in very cold weather.

Everything, an easy answer but what a unique place to stay with an excellent hostess. A place with so much history and period fittings.
Nothing to dislike but the actual front door takes a bit of finding when driving around not helped by similar named places in the village. Easily solved with either a little plan map or photograph s.
