Excellent location. Private entry. Plenty of hot water. Good to have cooking facilities and fridge.
It rained heavily and there was quite a mouldy smell, particularly in the main bedroom. Not possible to turn on heating during very wet week.

Stayed in the Sconse suit. Great central location, comfy bed, good value for money, would stay again.
Could have done with a deeper clean - toothpaste marks on tap & stain in toothbrush holder, few large stains on walls, couple of small hairs in bed. Shower pressure was really bad with the waterfall one giving barely a trickle and the movable one not much better. The string to pull the blind up was broken so you could only adjust the slats. En suite is very narrow so defo something to bear in mind if you’re a larger person. An iron would be handy. Would stay again but if certain tweaks were made it would completely elevate the experience.

Location, modern, good facilities, nice sized rooms
General cleanliness not great; some stains on towls and bedding, bathroom not properly cleaned. Not a big fan of spring matresses.

Spacious and comfortable

Good location with two different train stations and near all restaurants Newark has to offer. The room was well-sized, clean, and had everything you could need. The staff responded to every request and even helped us with some luggage.
The room temperature control is not inside the room, so if you need additional heat, you must request it. I suspect it is connected to the building.

Spotless room, excellently fitted out in a great location. A very pleasant café virtually nextdoor, and a pub with decent food a few yards the other way.
My room was on the top floor, up a fairly steep, but not long staircase. It had a lovely view out across the road - but this was quite noisy late on Saturday night.

location was great for me
was a bit cold. radiators didn’t get very warm
3.9
Great location, really clean and spacious
Curtains or shutters because the blinds didn't block out light or noise. Very very hot rooms even when radiators are turned off and fan was broken. The bed was really uncomfortable. This room is for 2 people but only enough kitchen crockery for one person.

The apartment is in a great location. It was so easy to find and get into the room with self-check in. Parking details were provided before we came and again easy to navigate and very cheap (£7 for 2 days!). The apartment was really nicely presented and everything worked well. Really good value for money. We had an issue with the door not locking on the Friday night when we were going out so I called Daniel who was very helpful and said someone would be over to sort it quickly. We went out anyway (testament to how safe it felt to leave the room unlocked!) and it didn't take long until he texted me to say it was fixed, great service.
The bedding was a bit dated and old, new linen would make this a 10/10 for me (but we still slept well). There wasn't a mirror near a plug socket so it's a pain if you want to use straighteners/curlers.

Great location, no reception so an email advises of access codes for the main door and the room which is perfect. Nice big room with a kitchenette and bathroom off to the side. Location is right in the middle of Newark opposite the castle so the best for town activities
Couple of fixtures were a little loose

Good town centre lication
Not keen on the light which turns automatically

A gorgeous property inside and out. The room looks out directly towards the castle grounds and was ideally located for our evening in the town.
lovely decor, very clean and good facilities.

The location is perfect for Newark Registry Office and access into the Town Centre. Rooms are fairly spacious and have kettles and toasters. The suite has a microwave and a large fridge. Having the sitting area in the suite was brilliant as we had plenty of room for makeup to be done and to get the bride dressed The rooms were warm - important in the current cold snap! Family room with the bunk beds was a big hit with our grandchildren.
Some of the bathrooms are quite compact. Maybe this should be made clearer as older people in our party would have found it impossible to access the facilities. Luckily we were able to swap around the downstairs rooms to make it possible for my older relative to use the bathroom in comfort Some cobwebby areas and dusty skirtings eg behind bathroom doors. Dusty under furniture too. A variety of mattresses with some of them being rather hard - not sure we’d be able to sleep on them for more than the two nights we booked. We would also suggest investing in blackout blinds or curtains as light from outside was an issue for most rooms. One really important thing we noticed was that many. Of the chairs and the settee need to have the legs tightened- they are very wobbly!

very pleasant rooms & very clean
we had a little problem with the keypads to enter but probably our fault think a little expensive for just a room

The room was quite spacious, tea, coffee and milk was provided as well as towels. Communication with staff was easy.
Very small bathroom with sliding doors that kept falling of the rail, antibacterial hand wash provided also as shower gel. The bed was horrible. My room was under the roof, no chance to open the window - window facing the main street which is very busy and very noisy. It was cold in the room so I came back home sick. Quite steep stairs - difficult if you have heavy luggage. No small table in the room so you have to eat on the bed. All equipment felt very cheap.

There was no breakfast and none was available at 31 castle Gate. No snacks were avilable. liked the cleanliness of the appartment and the size and height of the room. Otherwise little or no facilities, . Furnishing best described as mininmaaaal.Tv hesmallest I have met with in a while
I expected I would be able to park outside Castle Gate and leave my luggage there. I expected someone to be present at least to accept luggage and letme into the building. This was not the case . Casrle Gate had non of the usual facilities expected of a hotel , B and B . Aceess to the building and room is gained by the use of a code, which has a mind of its own. Anyone staying hrer should be aware of its limitations . The nearest parking is at council carpark some little distance away and costs an addition £8
