Descuidados, un poco de amor incrementaría mucho mi valoración ,con pintar y desechar algunos colchones

Not all was bad.
- 24-hour reception staff. It felt safe and they were very friendly, especially the night staff.
- Location: it was ok, just minutes away from the ruins and restaurants. It was a bit noisy, as I guess all the other places in Antigua.
We could hear the street sounds, other guests talking to the receptionist, the receptionist watching TV at night, and other guests having a late night chat.
- White bed sheets. The bed was clean, the blankets were warm and cozy, and my pillow was surprisingly comfortable.
- There's a terrace, which was a nice surprise.
We were impromptu travelers and didn't plan ahead of time. All the other budget rooms were booked and we didn't have much to choose from. We were arriving at night and I felt more comfortable with having a receptionist waiting for us rather than to stay at a self check-in Airbnb (I once had a bad experience and I wanted to avoid that on a foreign country -with no cellphone service yet, or wifi-).
I highly recommend you paying a bit more and getting a nicer place.
- NASTY showers: the ceramic tiles showed mold in both the showers we had access to. They could use a little bleach (or a lot).
I highly recommend using cheap flip-flops to take a shower.
Trust me, when you're out walking for most of the day, or coming back from a super dusty Pacaya or Acatenango hike, you DESERVE a clean shower, one where you feel comfortable being barefoot on.
- The electrical outlet in one room didn't work. We had to charge our phones on the outlet close to the ceiling that was used for the TV. Super uncomfortable.
- Different prices: we were charged a commission that was not included in our Booking reservation (the reservation email explicitly noted that we should not be charged any additional fees at the hotel). It wasn't a big deal, I mean, the room was cheap and it wasn't a lot more, but we didn't expect that.

The price was very reasonable. We just needed a place to stay. We were not looking for pool or jacuzzi. It was perfect for our needs.

the rooms were very basic and there were very few facilities. lots of noise at night also.

Found the staff hostile and rude. At check in they tried to scam us and make us pay additional fees. Did not feel welcomed. No hot water showers. The beds were lumpy and the bed post creaked. Dirty room. Quite loud. Would recommend staying at another hotel.
