This was a great little cabin on someone’s property. It was a perfect little retreat for me between adventures. It was only a few minutes drive into town, but was quiet and peaceful. I especially loved the little bed out on the patio. I spent most of my time at the cabin curled up out there both in the morning and evening drinking juice and reading or just enjoying watching the bugs and animals. It is very close to one of the largest night walks in the area.
I also loved that the shower here had hot water. Some of the places I stayed on my trip the water only got a bit warm, but here the water got nice and hot. This was especially nice because this was the place with the coolest temperatures I visited and after a day of adventuring I want a hot steamy shower.
The size of the cabin was perfect for a solo traveler or couple, but if you were to fill all the beds and have 4 people it might be pretty tight with everyone’s luggage.
Also, WAZE isn’t always accurate when it tells you to turn, and there are not street signs most places, so I went up a small steep private road before being directed by a kind local that the next road was the one I needed.
A couple things to keep in mind is that you have to check in and out at a hotel in town and you don’t have on site help if you have any kind of problem (I had none) and that you have to pay cash for the cabin. I don’t prefer to carry a lot of cash with me when traveling, but it was only 2 nights, so wasn’t that large of a sum.

it’s a very beautiful cabana tucked away in the woods. it has very nice balcony and beautiful decor. Would love to stay here again!
A few basics for cooking would have been nice.

Good location and beautiful balcony with a nice arrangement for relaxing

I loved this cabin, it was one of the greatest stats I’ve ever had!
beautiful, comfortable and quiet!
the only recommendation to the owners is to put some more orientations of how to reach the place, I came very late and it was raining so it took me a few minutes to find it.

While logistics getting to/from the place are challenging, the peace and ambience of being in forest was wonderful, the bed on the porch for watching night sky and life is a great perk, and once we learned there are a few stores and restaurants closer to the property than all the way back to town center, we enjoyed the rest of the stay.
With this difficult to reach a property, host should be proactive about getting guests there. Instead we were left to ask around to find the related property where we needed to check in, and find transportation again to get to the property because it's at the outskirts of town. The official taxi service is terrible, the first one (near the bus station) denied us transport, and we ended up walking almost 1 km up a fairly still hill to the inn that holds the keys. Then, the taxi we called stood us up after they indicated they'd come within 10 mins. To top the bad experience off, the receptionist forgot to give us the keys - we didn't know how we'd enter, so didn't think of challenging them. - Finally, the host buried the important detail that they only accept cash payment in many pages long boilerplate communication from Booking.com, which most don't pay attention to.

super nice little hut with green surroundings just five minutes away from santa elena - you need a car! Everything super clean and new, patio with view in the garden lying on a sofa bed, fully equipped kitchen with refrigerator, microwave and owen. Seating area for four.
construction side next door which will disappear soon!!!

One of the most relaxing places ever! Loved that we were so close to the reserve and could hear the jungle. Loved the rainfall shower, Loved the back patio and the lounge bed. So peaceful. We had everything we needed. Beds were firm but comfortable, wifi was great, felt safe, property was secure, very clean.
A fan would have been nice for air circulation. The heater was great for cool evenings.

Everything was lovely - it was spacious, clean, nicely arranged, quiet with a big tarrace.
The only drawback is that it’s actually a cottage on the outskirts(and you are the only tourist on the property) so for check-in / check-out you need to travel to anothe spot, but it’s nearby so not a big problam. They also don’t serve breakfast on the spot, it was no issue for me at all, since I prefer to try various tastes in the town, just need to be aware. Finally, keep in mind you are in the mountains so it can be refreshingly chill in the night and morning and you will have just small heater to warm you up.
Neverthless I love this place a lot, just need to be aware of what’s mentioned above.

Location, view and staff were great!
Could do with a kettle and the shower water staying hot.

The location is great. Also you have everything you need in the small cabin.
It was freezing cold though we caught a pretty good time in monteverde. All sunny. But the cabin has no heater so we did not feel comfy at all. Shivering after the warm shower because the rooms are probably below 18deg is no fun.

very nice accomodation!

It was a pretty place.
It wasn't as aislated as I thought.
It wasn't as private as i thought.
One had to trust it was safe as there was other people at the property so the gate was public and we had our car right out there.

no breakfast at the location/cabanas
the (remote) reception is not occupied at all time

Nice house with everything you need for a short stay, well-stocked kitchen, large balcony to lounge after day hikes. One of the best night walks in Monteverde is right across the street from the house
Rather cold at nights, adding some heating would be helpful

Great views from a lovely Cabana, away from the hustle of Santa Elena village. Manfred and Anthony were very welcoming and helpful.
