Perfect cabin in the jungle! Clean & comfortable bed, hot shower, testy breakfast. What else to ask for in a jungle?
I liked everything. But few things to know before you book, to keep expectations per reality:
Have 4x4 car. The road is really bumpy.
You are in the jungle. Seeing a spider in a bathroom is the norm. Owners suggest to call them for help if you see anything making you uncomfortable. My wide and myself were totally fine with couple spiders, not an issue for us.

The Green Tree is a well run B&B close to the centre of Santa Elena, with it's Eateries and Super Market, and the owner Elizabeth is super helpful and friendly. The cabin was in the forest and was spacious with basic fittings The main bed in our cabin was comfy and the sofa bed was functional but couldn't be classed as comfy! Elizabeth provided a filling breakfast of rich Costa Rican coffee, fruit, fruit juice, Gallo Pinto, plantain, sausage or ham and eggs. Great huevos fritos Elizabeth. An added bonus are the grounds and senderos which give you access to a fairly wide range of local nature including Emerald Toucans, Hawks, Morphos Butterflies and Agoutis. The Nation Park and Selvatura Park are 10minutes drive away. All in all a Superb Value B&B.
Great though Elizabeth is there are 2 things way outside her control. It's chilly at nights (4,600 ft ) so make sure you take some long sleeved clothing. The public road outside the B&B is unmade.

I had an absolutely incredible experience at The Green Tree Lodge in Monteverde! The lodge's location amongst the trees immersed me in the most enchanting natural setting, with the soothing sounds of wildlife all around. It truly felt like a serene escape from the bustling world.
But what made the stay truly memorable were the hosts! They were incredibly warm, welcoming, and went above and beyond to ensure my comfort and enjoyment throughout my stay. Their hospitality and attentiveness added an extra touch of magic to the entire experience.
If you're looking for a place to reconnect with nature, listen to the symphony of the forest, and be treated with genuine care by the hosts, The Green Tree Lodge is an absolute gem that I wholeheartedly recommend!
There were on occasions spiders living in the room with me. Whilst this is normal for a tree house and should be expected, it' still a little scary for people from cold countries 😆

We had an AMAZING stay - the staff went above and beyond (including having a birthday surprise waiting in the room)! Highly recommend!

Beautiful location among the trees. Woke up to see a monkey just outside our window! Staff were all very kind and helpful. Great breakfast, coffee in the room as well. Lovely place and lovely people overall!

Me and my boyfriend spent one night at Green Tree Lodge and I wish we could have stayed longer. The service was excellent, we were in the middle of the forest and we really enjoyed Monteverde and its attractions.
Super recommended

Very nice room, staff and breakfast!
Be careful not to follow the gps down the massive hill.. go the longer route around the town !

The setting was very beautiful. The tree house was probably the cleanest rental we've ever been in. Breakfast was served with a wonderful presentation and was yummy. Prepared especially for us in their "club" house. We wanted to do the Night tour, and they hooked us up right their with a great guide.

The cabins are in the trees and give you the feeling of being part of the forest. Nice that it is away from the hustle/bustle of town.
Beds are comfortable and large windows let the outside in. Good breakfast and the hosts are very nice and attentive to any needs.

Secluded cabins in the forest. Sitting on the deck felt like being in a tree house.
Quiet, clean and comfortable. Host were super accommodating and helpful picking restaurants and activities. Breakfast was delicious.

The staff was very kind and helpful. It was fun to stay right in the forest and while the room was very simple, it was quite comfortable. Very rustic but that's okay.
Breakfast was so so. I would stick to the tipico, especially if you have a big hike planned. The continental and American breakfasts were about as basic as the room!

The tree house was fun, owners were nice, breakfast was good.
The location. The road to the hotel is in really bad shape.

We loved the treehouse concept. The room was nice with big windows and a cute little deck with chairs. The couple running this business were so wonderful to deal with. They even helped us to order dinner from a delivery service when we couldn’t make it work on our phone. So kind!
It was very windy while we were here and the trees moved and made a lot of noise so that made sleeping difficult.

the property is very restful, tucked into the trees so it truly feels like a retreat. the owners were fantastic, very friendly and helpful. the rooms were clean, cute and comfortable. they even made little animals out of the towels and added fresh flowers. the traditional breakfast was both tasty and filling.
the only downside was the WiFi didn’t quite reach our room so we walked down towards the lobby when we needed it.
also the road approaching the B&B from the back is borderline treacherous. the owner messaged me to let me know there was a better way through town but it added 20 min…

An awesome place to sleep inside the jungle. One of the most intense experience to feel like an explorer.
Nowadays, there are only 4 “rooms” that are equipped with all the facilities to stay confortable. Beds are very good, rooms are spacious and with great views, terrce to enjoy the place and each one has its own bathroom with everything you need.
The staff is very helpful and kind and they give you a lot of information about the area, tours, activities and more.
Breakfast is very good and you can choose among several options, all of them prepared by the staff and very tasty, specially tipical tico breakfast.

Very friendly staff and very clean and cozy house in the middle of the forest. We’ve seen an amarillo close to our place and loved the sounds of all wildlife outside.

Super location among the trees. We felt at home immediately. It's important to know that there can be a lot of wind in the night which means a lot of noise in the trees. But we liked it. Good breakfast.

Quiet, unpretentious, room in a treehouse, located in a small forest in the owner's property, but with the feeling of being in a large forest. The room is simple, but comfortable, and the few rooms available are set such that you feel you are the only ones staying there. Owner gives a personal touch to the stay, willing to engage in interesting conversations. Definitely a good value for the price. Will return.
Wifi wasn't very fast. Not good if you need to get work done. Fortunately I didn't.

The location is a bit outside the beaten path...

This place was amazing! We feel so blessed we got to stay here and hope to visit again. The owner and family are so nice and helpful! They helped us with any transportation needs. The breakfast was amazing and made when you got there so it was fresh. You had open communication with staff from the time of booking. They offer a wonderful night tour and have many animals to spot on site. We saw most of the animals here, sloths, agouti, birds.
Shower was a little cold, and I could see the room being really hot in the summer months but overall can't complain.

Private tree houses in the middle of the forest, one is surrounded by trees from all directions. The stuff was very helpful.
It takes 20-30 minutes to walk to town.

the place is so beautiful, the rooms are amazing and I even saw some animal in the trees as I was waking up as you have a view on nature from your bed. the hosts are great and they will help you with anything you need!

We loved that atmosphere!
Stefano , our 3 years old host, is amazing.
Have to leave!

Excellent breakfast with very good fruits and good portions. The staff were very kind and helpful. Our tree room was very cute and we stay literally in the middle of the forest.
The only thing that didn't go well was the fact that our room smelled like mold, perhaps because it wasn't aired any longer before our arrival. However, the room was clean and the bed linen was impeccable.
