For what I wanted, which was just a bed for the night, it was fine. It's a 'locals' pub, which does mean good beer a decent food. The room was pretty small but sufficient for what I needed. The biggest issue though was no hot water in the shower in the morning. Hot water in the sink, but not in the shower and I waited an extremely long time, in case it took a while. There was no-one in the pub to ask for help, only the chef in the restaurant, so a bit disappointing.
There is no car park, so parking is just on the road outside. I was assured that it was perfectly secure and I didn't have reason to doubt that, but it did feel a bit uncomfortable having to leave my car overnight on the road a walk away from the pub.
The food in the restaurant was OK, nothing extraordinary, but I have to say, the breakfast was amazing, one of the best I've had anywhere.

Nice room with a comfortable bed.
Breakfast was excellent with locally sourced ingredients.

Hot water didn't work although this was corrected by 11.30pm. Shower drain blocked and obviously not cleaned as would have been noticeable . No cleaning between beds. Cobwebs on ceiling. Completely different to last stay. A shame because welcome was great and problem with hot water was sorted once it was pointed out at 10.45pm! Hope to see improvements when we return ext January!

Lovely small villgae pub with compact but really comfortable rooms. Great access to Oxford without being in the centre of it. Great breakfast.

Lovely location, bathroom not as clean as would have expected

Lovely country pub with great staff and friendly locals. Room was basic but clean with really comfortable beds and had a great sleep. We stayed on a Friday night and didn’t hear any noise after 11pm. Lovely outside space where the local's was playing games. Side access so we didn’t have to go through the pub every time we came and went. Best part of the stay was the breakfast, very good quality and cooked so well it was one of the nicest full English I’ve ever had.bottles of water and toiletries in room was an added bonus I would definitely return again

The bedroom was neat, clean and well serviced. The staff were friendly and helpful, the meal was generous and tasty but the condition of the carpetted area in the dining room was very dirty and smelly and the outside area had a neglected look.

There was everything to like about The Bell Inn, especially its location across from a scenic and rapidly moving river. The room was small but definitely adequate for a solo traveler. I worried needlessly about having a shared bath because it was just steps from the room and always available. The pub below the guest rooms served a variety of tasty food, especially top-notch fish & chips. Plus, there was very talented LIVE musician on Saturday night who also guided karaoke time. It ended at 11, so no late night noise. Overall, there is definitely a fun family vibe here. I was surprised to see many recreational vehicles/campers parked in a large area behind the inn, expecting that to be a problem. It certainly was not. In fact, those guests were polite, respectful, and quite enjoyable. If you're looking for something terrific instead of a chain hotel - and want the experience of interacting with local people - The Bell Inn is definitely the place to be. I am sooo glad I chose it!

Nice old building in a lovely little village. Not very good transport links 😕 tried to get taxi to train station unable to get one. Breakfast was amazing compliments to the chef. Would have liked a fridge in room. But no complaints at all really. Good value for money.

Lovely property and superb breakfast. The staff were all friendly & totally amenable. The only strange thing is that even though the rooms were cleaned daily - the shower gels & loo paper weren’t replenished!!?

There is limited parking so just be aware. Room was comfortable but not as clean as it should have been. There was lots of dust. There was also hair in the bathroom. There were toiletries. The bedroom was basic but comfortable. Kettle with tea and biscuits was a nice touch. Room is over pub you can hear people talking but kick out is at 11 and it’s quiet from then. Breakfast in the morning was good cold buffet with cereals and fruit plus a full English option.

A comfortable and clean b&b with friendly staff, simple and honest, all we need.

It was okay for the price, room was spotless, rest of the pub needs some TLC

We visit Witney 2 or 3 times a year but this was our first stay at the Bell Inn. Located in very pretty and peaceful
countryside. Everyone was very friendly and we enjoyed the stay very much. Room was very clean and tidy as was the bathroom. Great trip

Lovely welcome. Easy check in, lovely room. Locals very welcoming and friendly. Just a shame no car park, although parking in the village was not an issue. Ate in the pub at night and again at breakfast, lovely food.

The room was very basic the paint in the bathroom was all coming off .
The room was not clean after the first night plus we found things in the drawer from previous people.
The first morning we went down for breakfast at 8 am as breakfast was from 8am till 9am , was given a nice list with the things we could have but less then half off it was available no fruit, yogurt croissant's psin au chocolate when asked if there was any was told that they had not come in yet, only I curtains of orange juice so when it was gone no more
The chef’s which served us, his white jacket had not been washed for days or weeks it was filthy .
I had the cooked breakfast which was ok the tomatoe was bu on the bottom
The second morning was a lot better it was a different chef who was clean the server was a lot quicker plus we had crosstant etc yogurt but still no fruit and only one curtains of orange juice among 6 people

Amazing little get away. Comfortable room. Welcomed on our arrival was very warm and friendly.
The food and pub was excellent.
We travelled with a child who was entertained by a number of games.
The staff and locals were all welcoming and more than happy to have us to stay.
We had to leave before normal breakfast time and they happily opened breakfast early by a whole hour.
We will return.

Clean and suitable for a quick stay.
Very friendly and helpful reception staff- lovely to be greeted to warmly . And - Was provided with a bottle of fresh milk for tea which has not happened anywhere else. Husband found breakfast very tasty and well cooked .
Basic in some respects - quite small - so just a rail for clothes and had to ask for hairdryer. But - shower very clean ( no bath). I found the bed very comfy but husband found it too hard .
Definitely worth the price.

Very friendly staff and good location to explore the Cotswolds and Oxfordshire.
Hot water was luke warm, even after running it for a while.

The establishment was a typical English pub inn however the bedding was not clean. As the quilt cover was tucked in this was not obvious on arrival and only noticeable once covers were loosened off which was during the night due to the room being so hot. It looked as if the quilt cover had been put on inside out after someone else had used it without it being cleaned. I did show photos to a member of staff when settling my bill and she said she would speak to the person responsible for the housekeeping.

A delightful little friendly B&B pub. The only downside is the difficulty of parking: it is available, but not necessarily always straight-forward.

TV didn't work. No mention of external steps. Noisy until pub closed - couldn't be hlped! Lovely an warm. Pub food not as good as we expected - presentation poor. Bed settee only usable by shifting other bed. Then very cramped. But great characterful pub.

We were given a friendly welcome on arrival and shown to our room. This was clean, apart from the carpet which was in need of cleaning. The bed was comfortable.
The most extraordinary thing was the shower, which delivered tepid water in 10 second bursts accompanied by a loud noise. A bath would have taken forever to fill and would by then have been cold.
The breakfast "pastries" were plastic-wrapped and cotton wool textured. The cooked breakfast was better.
This is a smart village, quiet overnight, and the pub is an attractive building.
