Great stay! Super fun weekend with the ladies and visiting my daughter in Burlington. Lovely room and loved the huge (life-sized) gingerbread house in the lobby. Had a couple of meals in the Tavern - good food and very convenient.

Cozy and fun, we plan to come back and bring our kids!

Very clean. Stayed with two young children under 3. The pool was very nice. Beautiful outdoor spaces , plus playground across the street was a nice bonus. 24hr café , option to take out food from the resto and complementary s’mores kits, helped us make the most of our stay at this beautiful resort.

This resort was great! I was here on business, but chose this resort for the indoor pool lap swim. I wish I was able to stay longer to enjoy everything the resort offers! The customer service was excellent!

Good value. Great staff.

Our view was of mechanicals, kegs, smokers, barbecues, garbage barrels & dumpster.
It was a beautiful night but we had to close windows because of the noisy equipment. The A/C compressor in the room was very loud each time it shut off. The room itself needs updating especially the bathroom- rust around drain, dirty grout and ancient Moen shower valve. Very disappointed.

This place isn’t cheap, but (in the summer) there are many activities on site so we thought it was worth it. Nice pool, yard games, spa, etc. we enjoyed our stay very much. Also liked that we could check in earlier to use the outdoor pool.

We really loved the hotel, it was cozy and clean. We did the couple massage and staff at the spa was great also. We tried the breakfast and we did not enjoy it

We loved our stay. It was exactly what we were hoping for - relaxing and everyone was helpful. Although it was very busy we never felt crowded or taken for granted.

Stayed Labor Day weekend, Saturday night there was a wedding and myself and my boyfriend were woken up to drunken yelling woman in the hallway. Went on for about half an hour before I went outside to ask them to quiet down. Then the next night the room across from us decided to throw a party from 1130-230 until I called the front desk to complain. Quiet time hours were not enforced and for someone with insomnia, it was extremely upsetting when I paid decent money to SLEEP there.

All woodwork was clean....all bath fixtures shining....floors clean except elevator wasn't vacuumed in two days...paper trash in the floor everything else lobby, gift shop and restaurants were immaculate I am a coming back and bringing others and telling all my friends that travel! Parking lot and gardens are immaculate as well

The property had a Vermont ambiance! A quaint Inn that has everything you could possibly need without leaving property !!

Came for an overnight- would have loved to stay longer! Friendly staff, smores by the fire, goats out back, all night bakery case with pastries- AND beer/wine!
A lovely quiet location ( which was why I selected the location- staying the night before SAT testing) but offers good food, activities, 2 pools,Tennis, hot tub- and the peaceful relaxation also.

Great facilities and super kind staff. Awesome chia pudding for breakfast at the Tavern!

Our stay was wonderful. The rooms were wonderful.

Don’t let the spa/resort label fool you. The place had a 1980s Holiday Inn vibe, with a musty barely functional AC unit. Fine if you’re passing through on the road. Not a place to hang around. We left a day early and cut our losses

Went twice before got married here and have now come back for a fourth time. Looking forward to our fifth trip there already!

I have stayed here multiple times and they always ask have you stayed with us before? The TV didn’t work and my plugs didn’t fit the outlet in the bathroom.

Love the physical property and everything in close proximity. Rooms need some paint/updating. Quality of service from some of the staff was poor.

The hotel and surrounding area was very pretty. The 2 restaurants on property were very good and the staff at them were nice. I was disappointed in the hotel desk
Staff, they were not welcoming or informative about the resort. The back of the resort where the lawn games, and vegetable garden was unkept and the dumpster was out in the open.

Great spot to unwind and the facility is top notch!

The grounds were so full of potential! Tennis, corn hole, bocce, throw golf, hammocks, plenty of places to sit and relax. But the services lacked. The fire pit areas were cluttered with refuse that was not cleared even 24 hours later. The building our room was in had a beautiful common area that we were able to sit and play board games in, but there were glasses that were left lying around for days. Never collected or cleaned. The rooms were comfortable, though nothing spectacular. The bathrooms were definitely lacking. And if you want to eat at the tavern, definitely make reservations. Because even though it was touted as a culinary resort, without reservations, you aren't likely to enjoy the food.

Bathroom = 1 out of 5

No WiFi! To be staying at a resort and not have proper WiFi is crazy. It didn’t work my entire 4 day stay. That isn’t acceptable. There also was no smart TV which is basic hotel standard at this point.
Room itself was run down, dusty, and not as nice as prior stays.
Used to view Essex as a treat but I would not return.
Fire alarms happen, the communication was nonexistent.

This was our annual girl’s trip, this time we brought one daughter along. Great hotel, great service, always a fantastic experience. We always book for one night and instantly regret not booking for 2! See you next time 🙂

Enjoyed the resort - lots of spaces to walk and sit - gazebos and hammocks - lovely. Pool was peaceful oasis. Worked in the lobby area and that was comfortable. Appreciated the coffee, tea and water in the lobby too.

Beautiful lodge feel, well manicured property would be a nice venue for weddings. I had a particularly noisy room - the ?pool heat pumps were immediately below my window which I had opened for a nice fresh breeze since the A/c rattled so loudly that it kept me awake. After figuring out that the pipes were in the wall that the headboard was on, the only way to can the noise was to shut off the A/c. However no joy since the windows opened on to the heat pumps outside. Since it was raining I left early the next day. All in all disappointing. I bet that if I had wished to stay the following day I could have changed rooms but there was nothing keeping me there . The room was generous, clean and attractive - just noisy.
