Arrived late compliments of work commitments. The staff re-opened the kitchen to ensure we had a meal which was excellent. Breakfast was good with plenty of choice.

very happy with this hotel...nice and appreciate the staff.

Lovely place. Liked the decor and general ambience. Staff very friendly and helpful. Room was lovely although the windows were quite old and did not block out road noise. Did not like the smell of smoke and "weed" as we were walking around outside the front of the hotel. This lowered the tone. Smoking area needs to be moved well away from the entrance! Food was ok, only had dinner there which was fairly basic. Would probably return if we were in the area, and if we were assured the smoking area had been moved well away from the entrance or any rooms/windows.
3.4
A nice dog friendly hotel, no air-conditioning so quite noisy overnight with the windows open. Attentive staff and good food.
We will likely stay again and hope for a room away from the main road.

I liked everything about it
3.4
Lovely hotel, helpful stadf, plenty of parking, but terrible disable facilities!! Lift diesnt work, and only one blue badge parking bay, which was just a normal width bay next to a hedge!!..
3.4
the property was easy to find, there was plenty of parking, the rooms are of a good size although tired,
unfortunately when I checked in for the night I enquired how much it would be for an extra night I was quoted a ridiculous price and told that I HAD to book a breakfast if I stayed the extra night which was a further £12.95 on top of the nightly price, I had looked previously at the price and it was nothing like the male receptionist quoted me, I even had to ask him directions to my room as he wasn't forthcoming, I asked the same price question to the lovely morning receptionist and was given a complete cheaper price with no mandatory breakfast, NOT HAPPY with the evening receptionist ( a male receptionist )
3.4
The hotel is shabby inside, needs some restoration work. Ceiling too low in the shower, my husband couldn’t stand up straight. Breakfast far too expensive for the quality of goods. All the staff we met were very helpful and welcoming though.
3.4
A friendly welcome with good brief on amenities. A substantial breakfast with plenty to chose from. All staff encountered were helpful and well presented. Room airy and comfortable with rural view.
3.4
Beautiful place, friendly and very helpful staff, lovely room, highly recommended

The pictures on the booking site were misleading. My room had been “renovated” since the photo shoot to a very cheap standard. There was no desk in the room and it was quite bare.
3.4
Nice area .. quiet in the room .. shame there isn’t a lift ..also found the food a bit average for the price
3.4
Room was above the pub. Could go to sleep until pub was closed

This is clearly an old property and the oversll feel of the bedrooms reflect this...they look tired...however my large spacious bed was clean and comfortable and being at the rear of the hotel extremely quiet...
3.4
Was a Lovley place to stay after visiting the local country show would definitely stay again !! Only downside is the play area outside is not the safest for little ones
3.4
The staff were very helpful and responsive. The property is tired and worn but clean. Room was very spacious. Bed was squishy and like a couple of hammocks. The cooked veggie breakfast was terrible.
3.4
Really nice spacious rooms, best set up for a family room I think we’ve ever had. Lovely staff on reception and bar, great value for money. Family friendly. Room looked recently decorated.
3.4
The staff are super friendly and helpful - food good and rooms are a good size and comfortable - great location within 20mins of NEC which was where I was headed
3.4
The hotel very clean and tidy, all staff very friendly and made you feel welcome definitely stay there again

From the moment we entered we felt very welcome, nothing could be too much trouble. From reception through to the bar the staff were attentive and amazing.
The room was very clean, quality oozed from everything. It was unfortunate that our view from the room was of the car park, but who cares when you can relax in a massive comfortable bed, after showering in a beautiful clean shower with top quality toiletries.
The restaurant was absolutely amazing, a good choice on the menu, and pack a punch of flavour, very accommodating for any allergies and intolerances too, without any fuss.
There is a drawback though, at the end of your stay you have to leave, but those amazing memories can come with you
3.4
Really picturesque hotel with comfy beds. Quiet night’s sleep.
Shower could have done with a curtain or larger glass partition to keep the water in.
3.4
Friendly reception, lovely clean hotel and rooms were spacious(garden rooms)

The location is very far to walk from the castle and car park so be prepared for the longest walk of your life. The staff are rude very unfriendly they dont do anything for you. The rooms are cramped and mouldy, beds are hard as nails, and have bugs on them, the heating is no good. Our fridge didn't even work and smelt awful. The Shower ok and TV but it's all showing its age ABIT now tired camp site run by incompetent people on par with faulty towers avoid and stay elsewhere
3.4
I stayed for business for 2 nights. The bar service meals were acceptable but as the hotel is a little remote they are slightly overpriced. I didn’t have breakfast as at £12.95 that also was a bit steep. The room itself was clean but a little dated. The staff were all friendly and helpful.
3.4
Friendly staff and really nice place

Stay was perfect for what we needed- hotel bar area was lovely, could have done with another member of staff- but Gill was fantastic and came armed with colouring for the kids.
Rooms are a generous size although could do with updating- carpets need renewing and bathroom needed some attention.

Despite phoning in advance to confirm, the EV charger was not working. Had to move rooms due to cleanliness of first room (and TV not working) - 2nd room had noisy radiator (think machine gun) which kept me awake and a broken shower (unusable) - The website states that the hotel has room service but that isnt the case when you arrive.
Very disappointed with the stay overall and was promised a refund within 48 hours which I haven't received 5 days later in spite of me chasing.
I wouldn't stay here again, even if it was free.
On a positive note the staff were friendly.

Nice Hotel. Comfortable & clean. The room was a good size with a Sofa. The Staff were very good & helpfull. Our evening meal in the Restaurant was really nice. We would stay there again

Booked to stay 1 night as on the this website it said there was room service. Got to the hotel nice looking foyer, greeted by Tom, very warm welcome. As we made our way to our room this place got worse! It just looks dated, dilapidated and worn out. When we got to our room, the paper was coming off parts of the wall, thick dust everywhere, mold in the bathroom, wobbly chairs and very, VERY thin windows. On the welcome laminate it says 'we do not offer room service' when i questioned this with reception I spoke with someone who i later found out that he was the owner! He was quite rude and arsey towards me. To cut this shorter, one night, I suppose for the price maybe worth it. Just don't expect anything better than a run down B&B!

On one of the coldest nights of the year it wasn't great to find that the heating in the room was not working. I reported this to reception who placed a fan heater in my room but no offer of moving rooms was put forward. With the heater on the room was fine but tying to sleep with a fan heater on was not great so I turned it off only to wake during the night very cold so on went the heater again.
The hotel is generally very tiered although attempts have been made to freshen up the bathrooms. The bar area was cold but on a positive note the food was good and the service was decent. If you like a lukewarm breakfast including the coffee then this is the hotel for you. I presume the early risers would have had a hot breakfast but clearly the buffet was not re-stocked.

Nice hotel and lovely people. Especially Nicole and Garreth.
The room was cold though.
3.4
Quiet & comfortable
Clean & spacious
Nice restaurant
3.4
Felt much nicer than a 3*, lots of parking, helpful staff, cosy room and great dining options on site.
3.4
Very nice location, the room was ok but the family room had 2 single mattresses pushed together to make a bed but not comfortable as the gap in middle. The shower was in a bath and the bed lights did not work the bulbs needs replacement. The restaurant we waited over an hour for the mains to arrive. Was told there was only 1 chef on his own.
3.4
Very friendly staff and the room was lovely with a beautiful view.
Hotel was clean and would definitely stay again if we were over that way
3.4
We arrived to find that our booking hadn't been allocated a room so we missed out on a family room. Ended up with last room available in the hotel - the bed was awful and you could really feel the springs. The reception staff were very nice and gave us free breakfast to apologise but it just didn't make up for the awful bed and rubbish night sleep. The breakfast was very poor also - very little hot food. I really don't think this should be a 4 star hotel - it simply isn't.
3.4
Lovely weekend stay, friendly staff, cosy little hotel perfect for a quiet getaway, not far from cute towns
3.4
Clearly having plenty of money spent refurbishing it, but to go and rooms facing road are noisy, but comfy, clean and the evening food options are superb value for money. Continental breakfast expensive for what it is (not taken) a cooked option at the same price point would be a winner, considering the evening food option was excellent. Would use again and look forward to seeing how the extensive refurbishment progresses.
3.4
Lovely staff, especially on check-in desk! Property has clearly had some updates done, however these havent been to a super high spec - for example the painting wasnt done behind the bed (hidden by the mattress mostly).
