It was a good stay in a safe area

This is an awesome property. My wife and I grabbed a room to see a Tigers game and spend some time in Detroit and this place proved to be a solid call. Beautiful old Victorian home and it’s comfortable, clean and the staff is excellent. Easy parking and pretty good breakfast too.

We Had a very late flight arrived at two in the morning, I texted and emailed the hotel days ahead of time and no one was there to answer the door and when we called, no one picked up the phone. Here we are in the middle of the night outside with all of our luggage. Never again.

We choose The Inn on Ferry Street because it is so close to the Detroit Institute of Arts. We loved the charm of the old mansions, but, unfortunately, our room was not very comfortable. While it was super hot outside, our room was 63 degrees and we couldn't change it. There is only one chair (not great for hanging out although the lobbies are comfy), our hair dryer was missing, and the tiny sink with no shelf space for toiletries was not convenient. The breakfast was very minimal and disappointing. It would be relatively easy to add a few elements such as yogurt or granola. There was also no jam on our first day.

Good staff and nice services. Thank you

This was a cute place to stay. A little run down due to the age of the place but we had a very comfortable bed, the record player made for such a nostalgic and fun night, and we felt safe walking around the area late at night. There's no fridge so nowhere for a leftover slice or bottle water. I wouldn't rely on breakfast... mostly just a bunch of bread, instant oatmeal, or cold cereal. We couldn't even get an ice water in the morning. Overall, still liked staying there.

Super cute place with convenient access to the QLine. Rooms were cozy and comfortable. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Gave us great advice on navigating the QLine and offered up suggestions on things to do in the area. The breakfast is great for a quick bite and coffee to go. Will definitely be back should we be in Detroit again.

This property should not even be considered. I had covid and cancelled asking for a refund in a reasonable time and they would not consider any reimbursement. I am so disappointed with such heartless people!! We went through Expedia and they said they reached out to the property who refused to provide any reimbursement. I would never ever recommend this property!! 249.00 for nothing!! never recommend heartless. I was very ill.

Great location to visit the museums in downtown Detroit as well as stadiums. Only complaint was doing is very cold at night due to the air conditioner running on high all night.

Beautiful historic room. Quiet room. Comfortable bed. Shower had good water. Located right across the street from Wayne State University. Coffee machine and water cooler in lobby. Very pleased with our stay. Very minor disappointment: no fridge in room or ice machine. Caution: if you cannot climb stairs and carry your own luggage, this is not the hotel for you.

The staff were all very helpful. When we checked in she walked us to our room since the facility is unique and not a typical hotel layout. When I asked about mailing a letter the next morning another staff member walked outside to see if the mail carrier was still nearby and then gave me clear directions and alternatives.

What a wonderful hotel just metr steps from the Detroit Institute of Arts and Historical Museum. I had never hear od this Inn and was so excited to stay here. Unfortunately, my flight was very late so i didnt get to experience it for long, but my short stay was comfortable, clean and so lovely. I will be here again with more time to spend at some point in the not-too-distant future.

Nice old house with antique furniture, clocks and library. Our room had a large covered balcony with armchairs and a table. On the other hand, the stairs and doors were squeaky that kept us waking up at night.

We checked in super late night after a long flight and we were able to quickly check in thanks for 24/7 concierge service. The bed was comfortable and the room has ample closet space and a good bathroom area as well.

Very smooth and convenient experience spending one night. Staff are fantastic. Room was clean and comfortable. Quite unique as you are in one of their Victorian houses, refurbished to be this inn. A truly unique and wonderful stay overall.

I appreciated the pleasant staff, quiet location, excellent breakfast and clean comfortable room. Our room was at the top of the stairs above registration and breakfast room. Between 6 and 730 I could hear a very loud talker non stop talking. She woke me up.

We asked for a room refresh. We put the tag out on the door. No one came by. I carried the trash down to the main house and got new trash bags. We also needed fresh towels and got bath mats instead and were told that’s all they had. It was a struggle just to get the trash picked up and fresh towels. The responses we received from staff was that they were short staffed.

If you are going to stay here I recommend booking directly with the inn so they have a chance to get it together. The social media coordinator was doing check ins, perhaps they were understaffed. Our experience was a nightmare. We arrived an hour after check in time to find the room I was reserved was “not ready” and had to wait 30 minutes for them to clean a comparable room. She also told us that check out was an hour earlier than what was shown on my reservation. Very unprofessional but the property was nice.

The carpets need to be replaced. The one staff person changed daily and could be more or less helpful. There are no elevators so get ready to carry your own heavy luggage. Rooms are clean but sparsely furnished. The breakfast is continental and varies wildly (not in a good way) from day to day. It is 4 separate buildings. I would not stay there again.

This is a unique property - composed of several historic houses where you get a sense of Detroit history. The inn features carved wood details, original ceramic decorated fireplaces, beautifully designed interiors, comfortable rooms, on a quiet centrally located street. Staff is super helpful and willing to help you with any travel needs. Location is close to major museums, Wayne State University, and the free Q line. Breakfast is wholesome, tasty, and generous. If you are traveling to Detroit and want a unique home base, elegant and tasteful, this is it.
