Fortunately for us our two nights was as result of cashing in Tesco’s Clubcard points and not a cash booking. If I had of paid the £670 cash price I would not have been impressed or deemed this day value for money it simply wasn’t worth £670, also we were charged for the privilege of using the bar on top of the cost of two glasses of Pepsi Max service charge £6 per order even though we are residence at the property .

This hotel is a little remote but that adds to the charm. The staff were friendly and treated us well. The room was spacious, a little cool but well designed. There was a microwave and small air fryer and fridge in the room, however no utensils other than disposable bamboo plates and wooden cutlery, it wasn’t used but could be helpful to know.
The breakfast was very good, fruit, cereals, pastries and cooked breakfast as well.
The resident cat Doris is a gentle and friendly little old lady aged 19, she is a star member of staff

Staff were friendly and we were made to feel welcome. Food was exceptionally good although drinks were expensive.
Breakfast was good with a great selection on the menu.
The windows in the bedroom didn't open making it feel very stuffy and hot. The carpet in the hall and leading to our room was badly worn to the point it could have been a trip hazard and badly needed replacement.

Breakfast very good, although now a buffet. Waitresses very helpful, but slow to clear away used plates. Room very, very clean and excellent quality slightly let down by old leaky tap washers, and only one hand towel in a room for two.

Parts of the hotel are a little tired but generally you still feel you are in a ‘proper’ British hotel. Staff are all lovely respectful and helpful. All youngsters but really nice helpful people.
There was a wedding in and a 90th birthday but the staff made it all happen together well.
Recommend a visit to this traditional hotel.

The hotel was lovely. Unfortunately the room was not quite what i was expecting.
After booking and paying for a superior room (four poster bed) in the main building, which was one of the most expensive rooms in the hotel), I was somewhat underwelmed with it on arrival.
No four poster bed which was disappointing and the furniture looked very tired. Also the toilet was full of black stains in the bowl.

Staff very welcoming and food good. Room very clean but tired decor with a broken hot tap and badly corroded metal toilet brush. Hotel needs TLC

Amazing

We had a one night stay on route to Cornwall so didn't utilise all of the facilities however the room was large and clean and the beds were comfortable. We also used the pool, which was great, and breakfast was plentiful.
The highlight was the hotel cat, Doris, who was very friendly.

The hotel was quite dated! The buffet breaks fast was average, and by the time we got there , all the food was gone! The glasses weren’t replenished so couldn’t drink the juice! Overall just very average

Quite basic. We weren’t actually in the hotel but in the outbuildings and I wouldn’t have felt that safe if I was by myself staying there. Bathroom needed an upgrade

Nice hotel and the customer service from staff was wonderful. Room was okay and did the job. No kettle and a bit stuffy in the heat but we still had a good nights sleep. The main door to enter the room needs to have a handle on the other side so that you can actually get out of the room! We stayed in room 20 and found it difficult to get a good grip to open the door by the latch each time. Disabled parking could be better as well. Only 2 spaces and they seem to be exactly the same size as nornal parking spaces.

The appearance of the property and the area around it led us to expect more from the room, having said that it was clean but the bed was smaller than we would have liked.
Staff were pleasant and helpful and there seemed to be more amenities/facilities than we would ever use, but to the obvious delight of some children staying there.

Great location, period property with loads of dining options.

Fantastic place however breakfast was not the best cold undercooked bacon and no beans 😩

Quite dirty. Run down. Stayed in courtyard which felt damp and dingy. Kitchen dirty- microwave hadn't been cleaned. Needs a complete renovation. ?single glazed windows as was cold despite it being summer time. Would not recommend.

Helpful staff who were accommodating to us and our young family. Would definitely come back to visit in the future

We arrived around 1230 to meet up with friends we only see infrequently for a reunion lunch at 1300. Reception was unmanned but made staff aware that we, and another couple, had arrived. A nice table outside had been reserved for us but this, surprisingly, was allowed to be taken by some others whilst we awaited the arrival of other companions and we were left to bake inside at a table beneath some plastic roofing until we insisted on moving outside when some other tables became available.
Menu was very limited and I had to send my choice back twice until the correct dish arrived. The bill presented was mixed up and inaccurate to start with.
At approx 1500 I received a telephone message telling me that our booking could not be honoured and we would receive a refund. I had had 1 beer and my wife had had 1 glass of wine, we observe a strict don't drink & drive policy, and insisted that we should be accommodated. We also wished to spend the evening with our travelling companions who are from overseas and we rarely see each other. A lesser room was subsequently allocated to us.
Breakfast the following morning was shambolic eg no cereal bowls available and no clearing of used plates.
Altogether I believe staff had not been properly trained, there was no supervision, or evidence of any internal management communication.
An absolutely dreadful experience, I could not recommend this hotel in any way.

Lovely team from front desk to restaurant.. good food, nice breakfast options. Accommodation was lovely with comfortable beds and very spacious. Good pool & easy, adequate parking.
My only suggestion would be to add additional dining options for main course.. maybe daily special/salad..

Really great location for visiting the Cotswold area, fantastic setting and facilities and nice historic building. A mini fridge in the room would have been the icing on the cake.
5.0
The staff were all lovely. Very comfortable bed and room. It was marvellous to have a bath as I only have a shower at home.
The food is good. For dinner last night I started with crab and prawn salad followed by duck. For breakfast I ordered eggs florentine, it was very good. Beautifull surroundings. There is a golf course next door.

The welcoming atmosphere and friendly staff and the facilities were all great - would certainly stay recommend staying here

Clean enough, but tired - not overly welcoming front entrance, looked a little like it was no longer open.

Room cleaning was virtually non existent. Room size was good. Staff were friendly. Hotel was set in a disused 9 hole golf course that had fallen into disuse. Bar and restaurant had excellent panoramic views. Service was good. Location was about a mile from the small village of Cricklade but difficult to walk as there were no paths. Spa facilities nice but small. No playground facilities for children. Price was fair but breakfast quite expensive.

Ground floor courtyard rooms need net curtains as other guests can see into bedroom and living areas through windows. This means you have to sit in bed in mornings with curtains closed and light on.
Spa swimming pool area needs a good clean as spider webs around french doors. Loungers are dirty.
Staff friendly. Food good.

Absolutely beautiful views from our window. Bed was best bed I have slept in, in a hotel for years.
Spa was okay need more beds around the pool. Amazing back massage but only 20 mins for £55.
Would recommend and would return for another visit.

We booked to stay in a superior room, however when we arrived in the room we noticed there were stains all over the carpet and marks on all of the walls. We requested a new room and was put in a standard room, which was agreed by us. Room was clean but still had some stains on the floor. Wouldn't say 4* hotel with the cleanliness of the rooms.
The staff were really helpful and we enjoyed using the spa facilities. Breakfast the next day was nice and staff were accommodating to make scrambled eggs instead of fried eggs.

Nice hotel fantastic pool, sauna & steam rooms well well-maintained!
2.0
The room felt a bit dated, and although the carpets were stained, the bed was clean and comfortable. Unfortunately, the swimming pool lacked loungers unless you were getting a treatment, and the water was on the chilly side. Additionally, many staff members seemed unenthusiastic and were quite blunt when interacting with guests. Breakfast lacked variety and where food ran low it took a while to get restocked.
2.5
I was impressed with the staff and their enthusiasm. The hotel is a very impressive building although there was some decorating going on in some rooms during my stay.
The only blemish during my stay was the television that
a previous resident in the room had changed the settings
and so it was not possible to get standard channels.
5.0
This is a very comfortable, quiet, friendly hotel. With many amenities for those who want them.
I have been here 3 times as a single guest and always get a spacious room and large bed, unlike many places where you are squeezed into a tiny room with a single bed.
I always recommend this hotel to my friends.

The hotel was really nice. The nature around was beautiful and they had an incredible conservatory area for the breakfast.

Lovely hotel with nice staff.
Gym and a pool with steam bath and sauna is a big plus.
Food quite Ok.
Courtyard rooms could benefit from double glass in Windows..

The staff were amazing. We were greeted by a gentleman, I believe his name was Festus and he was lovely. There was some miscommunication between expedia and the hotel, however Festus helped us sort it immediately and we had a lovely stay. The food was lovely and the views are gorgeous.
Additionally, the spa was lovely.

Beautiful buidling and spot. Staff were very stand-offish when we arrived but then seemed to pick up.
Very disappointed thatbwe had building work outisde our room, we were woken early by them starting work. When mentioned to the staff, no apology given just acceptance thag it wasnt ideal.
