We have stayed at this location several times in the past and our only complaints are that the ice machine was not working on our floor, there is only one robe in our room and the adjoining restaurant is now closed. We do plan on staying here again.

Overall decent trip at this hotel. Only issue was on Saturday I had asked the the front desk at around 10:30AM for room service to come clean and swap our towels and linens. We arrived back at 4:30PM nothing was done. Then around 5:00PM the maid came and said we either let her come clean now or she will be going home for the evening. We just took the towels since we wanted to rest a little in our room. For the Godfrey brand this was slightly disappointing. Felt like we were staying at a lower brand hotel and this gym was very subpar. Edwin was very polite at the front desk.

There was no hand soap and when I tried to call down for some, the phone was broken. Couldn’t even call front desk. And the bed had a ginormous deep hole in the middle of the bed. It was the most uncomfortable sleep ever.
4.2
Bed was comfy. View was nice. Hotel was nice. Rooftop was the seller. Close to a lot.

Good location and nice hotel

Amazing stay. Highly recommend

Staff was not very friendly both in check in and out. Also, the bar and restaurant staff rude as can be! Found out that even though the have a bar and restaurant you just cant go there for a drink. One they ent it out for private events so closed off. You have get ID to go to the bar and use a separate elevator. Bar staff not friendly had to really beg to take our order then he over charged us, i believe Rory. Then would not come back and ignored us to correct it. Then gave a lame excuse. Patio closes early and guard was rude in asking us to leave. Just left us feeling horrible about staying there

Beautiful hotel and great location. Staff was very friendly and room was great!

I recently had the unfortunate experience of staying at the Godfrey Hotel, and it was a major disappointment from the start. Despite paying $879 for two nights, the quality of the stay was far from what one would expect at this price point. The cost is not a concern for me; I am willing to pay for a high-quality experience. What matters most is having an exceptional and enjoyable time.
Upon arriving, we immediately noticed several issues in our room. The toilet seat was completely off, the phone was non-functional, the towel rack was off its hinges, and the coffee machine was broken. As someone with many years of experience in the hospitality industry, I understand that things can go wrong, but the sheer number of problems we encountered was unacceptable.
The only highlight of our stay was the service at the bar upstairs. However, even this was marred by the fact that we were stopped and asked for wristbands, despite being guests with room keys. We had to go all the way back downstairs to get the wristbands before being allowed entry. For the price we paid, I expected five-star service, but sadly, it felt more like staying at a budget motel. This experience has shown me that price does not equate to quality, and I will not be booking at the Godfrey Hotel again.

Did not like there was no option for room service

I booked this hotel for the amazing rooftop and location. I was very pleased with the room and the location. We walked to the magnificent mile and a few close restaurants. I was a little confused when we were told the hotel guests needed reservations to access the rooftop bar. There was an event going on, but the rooftop is very large. We were able to walk up the 2nd night .

This hotel is at a great location and is a nice walk (a few blocks) to the Riverwalk and Michigan mile. It's a block or so from the Hard Rock Cafe and a McDonalds, the Starbucks Reserve (the biggest in the world) and cute little shops, cafes and restaurants. Uber Eats delivers from all over in very little time so it was a great place to stay. The outdoor balcony bar area is beautiful too!
4.2
The front desk people were so friendly and helpful & gave me an early check-in, which was so sweet. Room was gorgeous, loved the view. I had an amazing time.
4.2
When we checked in we were early. We were told we would receive a phone call when our room was ready- that did not happen. We also booked a handicapped room by mistake- we were able to change rooms with the help of Valaria- she was so helpful and gracious
4.2
Great location in the heart of Chicago. Service at the front desk was great.
The bar/restaurant on the 4th floor was very good and atmosphere was terrific. We loved that there was a separate space for the bedroom and living room area.
The noise level was a bit high but that seems to be the case with most hotels in the city. We works definitely book here again.
4.2
The staff were very helpful with suggestion of things to do while there.
4.2
The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The vibe is definitely young professional/trendy and there are really no extras. We had friends staying at the same time and one room smelled significantly like pot and the other got quite a bit of noise from the club, even though they were on the 12th floor. My two stays at this hotel have been nice, though probably not worth the price given the lack of anything extra, however it seems like the experience can be hit or miss depending on where your room is
4.2
It was ok till they blocked us from getting to our room when they had event at rooftop. It wasn’t right from the hotel to do that.
4.2
Beautiful boutique hotel in a great location. The water pressure and shower head were fabulous, the internet was very, very poor.
4.2
Room was next to the elevator, which was loud.
4.2
I always love the Godfrey. I was disappointed I couldn't get an upgrade my first night there but they were sold out. They did get me in there the next night which was great.
The location is awesome and the bar is sweet... overall, a great place to stay!

Two nights stay.
First night was really loud, because people kept walking in and out of their rooms, knocking on doors (even ours at 4am) and yelling all night! We called it in at 11pm. It did not stop and continued all night. I went down to the reception and mentioned it in the morning, luckily they checked out the next day. She offered to credit us some money, but it never happened. (Not that I want something for free, ultimately it's not the hotels fault, but some acknowledgedment would have been nice.
The water in our shower had two temperatures: Hot and boiling. I was not able to shower because it was too hot. (What a problem to have in that kind of hotel) Needless to say, I was not happy when I had to use the sink only. (No fancy L'Occitane products as advertised either)
I expected a little more from the room amenities. Coffee maker was there, but essentials almost non existent. Only Plastic and paper cups.
The fridge was nice and big though for a hotel room.
Bed was very soft and had fluffy pillows.
The room was clean.
Hairdryer, iron and board, safe, the basics.
We only had one bath rope and when we requested another one, since we had a spa treatment booked, we didn't receive one.
The massages (50 min) were outstanding though. Best we've ever had!!!
The IO restaurant on the "Rooftop" on the 4th floor was nice, but nothing special. There are better ones in Chicago.
I hate to leave bad review as I had high hopes for this hotel, but will most likely not return.

Very nicely decorated and entry lobby was nice. Location was great. Rooms were done very nicely and very clean. Loved the bathroom and shower stalls a lot of room. Staff very friendly and the bar area was fantastic. I was on the 6th floor over the outside bar and thought the music would be too loud but it was perfect barely heard anything.
4.2
I loved the view we had of the skyline. Our room was spacious and comfortable.
4.2
Nice place to stay in a quiet neighborhood.
4.2
The Gym was a little lacking. And being next to the outdoor bar at night was super loud
4.2
We arrived early and were immediately provided with our room. Spacious king suite with great skyline views. Wonderful rooftop bar with fantastic drinks and views! Would definitely book again!

Very nice stay.

I have had the pleasure of starting twice. It is always clean and friendly.
4.2
The Godfrey is conveniently located to many places we wanted to visit while we were in Chicago. Rooms were clean, staff was very accommodating. We enjoyed our stay.
4.2
Great stay. Good location. Close to many things. Staff was great and 4th floor rooftop was great.
4.2
came here with my boyfriend and we loved everything about it but, we unfortunately had to rely on normal TV. We had brought the PS5 to watch Hulu, max, Disney , etc. but we weren’t able to access it. Besides that everything else was wonderful
4.2
Stayed in the 1 bedroom suite. The main bedroom was nice, the bed comfortable. The sofa couch was disgusting and had a horrible stain on the mattress that looked like a pool of blood. When asked for sheets twice for the sofa bed and extra pillows - they were promised but never delivered. The balance of temperature between the two rooms was also awful & the drag race noise from the street below was loud.
Rooftop dress code was completely ingnored and there we customers basically walking around in lingere and underwear with butt cheeks hanging out. Not as high-class an establishment as they pretend to be.
4.2
Beautiful roof top, exceptionally clean room! Staff was very amenable and always available to assist! Wonderful location!
4.2
Excellent location- close to transportation, l many great food options, and easy to get to local attractions. The staff was competent, helpful, and courteous.
4.2
Great location. Convenient and nice staff. Clean room and all went well.
