Very comfortable for an overnight stay. Easy walk to town .Very pleasant host.
4.2
great historical building and good rooms
4.2
it was ok

While the property was clean, the surrounds were under construction. Despite images depicting access to a television, there wasn't any in the room. They did offer WIFI which was at a decent speed.
4.2
Great location and local history.

A beautiful quirky old building. Love the common area. Never saw our hosts. Would be great if there was secure / dry bike parking. Bathrooms are quite dated and could do with hooks / shelf within them for cloths.

Loved the old building

My home away from home! I try and visit 2 - 3 times a year. Either solo or with my partner, I wouldn't stay anywhere else. The best location in town, yet just off the main drag and quiet. The Priory is a historic gem and a comfortable, friendly and generous place to stay.
The shared facilities are kept immaculate and are so numerous that you will feel like they are your own private bathrooms most of the time. The family and staff are wonderful and should be congratulated and thanked for maintaining this treasure of Beechworth!

this is backpacker
Nun's habits should have been issued
Room was tiny hot and full of bees and wasps!
A bed was squeezed in with little else
A rip off and not recommended.
Very disappointed

Firstly, on arrival I was given an envelope with 2 keys for 2 different rooms (3 and 4) when in fact as a solo traveler I only requested one room.Reported immediately to the manager who apologised and told me to stay in Room 3.
Secondly, checked my Mastercard and found 2 equal charges of $89.77. First one by Expedia and the second by Hotels.combined a few days later???.
Looks like I’ve been double charged for the same transaction.
Thirdly, I hope to get a feed back from Hotels.combined soon with a solution as I have already informed Westpac Mastercard about disputing that transaction.
Looking forward to to hearing from you

Nothing in particular. From past experience vowed never to stay in a tent now never to stay in priory. Didn't see a member of staff whole time
4.2
Very basic accommodation. Our room was tiny, without cupboard space, but okay for a single night stay. Shared bathrooms are clean and spacious, but would be frightfully cold in winter. The building, formerly a nun's convent and boarding school, has many curious features from a bygone era.
4.2
Beautiful old building, host was lovely. Make sure you book a room with en-suite as the shared facilities are just… breakfast room could be lovely but it felt like a dark dungeon or a school camp kitchen. Should be listed as hostel style accommodation. Great location and cheap so if all you need is a bed it’s a great.

Easy check in, amazing building

The Priory was pretty much as expected. A little run down but nothing too bad. There are no check-in/reception staff - but everything is left ready for you. The bathrooms and room were clean but I would have benefitted from a mirror in the room so I wasn't hogging the bathroom doing my hair etc. however there didn't seem to be anyone waiting for a bathroom at any time.
4.2
Great value, clean, fab location, and served it’s simple purpose. Shared bathrooms as we expected for the price.

As a family with young we children we read Harry Potter a lot and we thought The Priory was Hogwarts as it had loads of character. Thanks for an amazing stay.
4.2
Great budget option, clean, and miners cottage perfect for a small family

Cheap & cheerful. Interesting building

Enchanting place and historic adventure
4.2
We loved our stay at the beautiful Priory. We stayed in the two bedroom flat and it had everything we needed for a family weekend stay. It’s a very short walk to the main street, all shops and restaurants nearby as well as supermarket. We’d definitely stay here again!
4.2
Amazing adventure in a beautiful historical accomodation. We will most definitely be coming back to explore Beechworth while staying here. Would recommend to anyone!
4.2
Booked as it looked intriguing and from the photos looked nice. Very mistaken, hot with no aircon, bed smelt, shower had mould, couches stained and floors filthy. Gardens really untidy and grass knee high in areas. Probably why we saw a brown snake just after arriving. We tried to cancel the second night but the owner wouldn’t refund. Real shame as Beechworth is such a nice place and there were so many other places we could have stayed.
4.2
Super soft beds and sheets, was very comfortable. It was very hot outside, but inside the toy room Was nice and cool and the fans were great. I only wish there were hooks to hang up our towels after showers :)
4.2
Great property in a great location! Our kids lo ed it also.
Highly recommend
4.2
Had not spotted that the Chapel family room did not have its own bathroom or air-conditioning. I guess that is why the room was so affordable but the room needs better fans. Breakfast is very basic. Lovely building and very clean.
4.2
No attached bathrooms for rooms. Rooms are very small.
Appreciate if you can upgrade to a proper B&B as it has to be done for your profits and long run.
4.2
Ok as a budget option old and rambling but well located
4.2
A beautiful and unique place but we have had the worse night ever! The occupants of the apartment on the floor below us have us still awake with their music, children awake, thumps and bumps. We can also hear running in the hallway upstairs. We have to walk a distance to even the toilet. Regrettably would no be back!!!
4.2
Good value for money.

Our stay was a short overnight visit so the dormitory room was more than adequate to meet our needs. Very clean & comfortable & surpringly warm considering the cold weather. Love value for money with the continental breakfast included. The historical building/area is well & truly worth a return visit to do it & the Beechworth town justice.
4.2
I thoroughly enjoyed the relaxed and high quality communication with the manager of the place
4.2
Such a lovely old building our stay was very comfortable management and staff were most helpful and super friendly continental breakfast was more than adequate would highly recommend a weekend break there thank you so much see you in the near future thanks Hans and sara

The bed in the room was very uncomfortable. Otherwise the room was ok.
4.2
Dreadful experience. Due to a mix-up in the booking (partly my fault), only one of the two rooms we had booked was available when we arrived after dinner. The bed in this room was not made, and the bedclothes were lying in a heap next to it. Called the proprietor, who was offsite, and the situation was quickly resolved. Bed time ... summer in Beechworth, and the room was like the Black Hole of Calcutta - no aircon. We hardly slept a wink.
4.2
It is not a hotel, just for urgent stay at night if you have no other choice!
4.2
New owners have just taken over but already I can see improvements such as wifi. I would recommend this charming old place. There is no TV in bedroom - So you actual have to talk to each other - great idea!!! Breaky included. No complaints at all.
4.2
We have stayed in the Old Miners Cottage No.1 previously and enjoyed the experience.
This time however we found that eighteen large hot water service tanks had been installed beside the two cottages and the plant noise was incessant, operating 24 hours a day. The resultant noise meant you had to completely shut the cottage door, with no fresh air. In addition, the old television needs replacement having a very poor picture.
We will not be back, unfortunately.
