Blue Hill House, a reverse level house, consists of a first-floor kitchen/diner with a dining table seating eight, fridge/freezer, electric range oven, gas hob, dishwasher, coffee maker, microwave, kettle, toaster, a ground floor utility with a washer/dryer, a first floor sitting room with a Smart TV, electric fire, and sound system, a first-floor conservatory, and a first-floor cloakroom. The bedrooms consist of two ground floor king-size with TVs and en-suites, a second floor double with a TV, and a second floor twin, serviced by a bathroom. WiFi, fuel, power, bed linen, and towels are included. Travel cot and highchair available. Outside, there is a non-enclosed front garden with a patio, furniture, a barbecue, and off-road parking for two cars. One well-behaved pet welcome. Sorry, no smoking. Shop 0.5 miles, pub 0.7 miles. There is plenty to do here - cruises, boat trips, and watersports on Lake Windermere itself and the lakeside at Waterhead with parkland offering lovely views down the lake and a short stretch of beach. A walk in the other direction, following Stock Ghyll through woodland, will bring you to the entrancing waterfall of Stock Ghyll Force. Along with the Lake and the great walking on offer, Ambleside is also famous for its annual rushbearing ceremony and the diminutive 17th century “Bridge House” - one of the most photographed buildings in the Lake District and now the National Trust Information Centre. Ambleside has plenty of restaurants and pubs to suit all tastes from great fish & chips to its two Michelin Star restaurants and all tastes in between are catered for.
