View, quietness.

We loved everything about the property. We enjoyed being surrounded by nature, and appreciated how private the cabin felt. We could not see another cabin from our location. The cabin was impeccably clean, and had all the comforts that we could ask for.
There was nothing we did not like.

The house is situated down a lane in the lush rainforest above Oyster Bay. There is a small view of the water but that doesn’t matter, as you enter the house you feel like you are in the forest with all the large windows and wonderful light! Sublime art work abounds with the centre piece above the fireplace, a William Alistair print with wonderful colours which are picked up in the furnishings. The whimsical flying goose suspended from the ceiling memorizes you as it slowly moves!
Furniture, linens, dishes are all of high quality and everything is supplied to a gourmand cooks delight! This was a girls away trip and we had made several dinner reservations which we promptly cancelled and went grocery shopping so we could stay and enjoy the ambience with a crackling wood fire. The soaking tub with a view of the forest was extremely relaxing!
There are numerous art studios within a short drive and numerous hikes and beaches to visit.
It was perfect!

The setting was gorgeous and quite peaceful. The sofa was very comfortable, while not using the sofa bed, I found that it was comfortable enough to sleep there. My husband loved the bed and found the mattress very good for his back.
I would have preferred a king size bed and we had no use for the tub in the sleeping area - if there was a wall and a door, I would call it the bedroom; but, there was neither. Call me a party pooper, but in this day and age, I find tubs absolutely useless since, in my opinion, they are a waste of a vital natural and, yes, limited resource - water. So, I definitely did not like the tub.

Beautiful spot! Loved the William Allister art, the fire place, the tub, the outdoor space, the view, the trees, thoughtful lighting, well stocked kitchen, tons of windows, the robes. It was a great space to spend a relaxing weekend. Tons of great hikes and trails near this area. We come to the Coast frequently, but this was our first stay at Moon Dance. I had a lovely birthday here. We would love to come back and try out the other cabin as well!
There was a pair of jeans left behind from a previous guest in the closet.
The duvet cover had a real 90’s polyester feel.
No water/beach access permitted when staying at The Perch
Don’t love how booking.com (not the owners) always pester us with requests for a rating before we’ve even finished our stay. Just leave us alone and let us enjoy our vacation that we’ve paid for.
Oh, just FYI, not a bad thing: bring your slippers or wool socks in the winter as the floors are cold.
Bring your own shampoo, conditioner, bubble bath for the tub, tea & creamer.
(They do supply some pre ground coffee grounds in a Tupperware in the freezer)
