A beautiful inn, conveniently located, and great staff.
The place was absolutely beautiful! So much character. It was less than a 10 minute walk to ford field which was super convenient. The staff was so friendly and kind. We want to come back to Detroit just to stay here again!

We loved the decor and staircase and chandeliers in ever room.
It’s a beautiful inn right in the heart of Downtown, close to The Fox, The Fillmore, Tiger Stadium, etc.
It was very warm in our room on the third floor with no temperature control.

Cold, in an uncomfortable bed!
Mid-December, snow flurries, low 20s outside and the heat in room 23 wasn't working!!! Couple that with a thin blanket and bedsheet, and I slept on that firm mattress uncomfortable, cold, wrapped like a mummy. The people who work there are polite, but saying "I hope you come and stay with us again" to myself and other guests who also complained about the temperature of their rooms is not good enough. No need to share any other positives, because who wants to stay in cold Detroit at a hotel with in room heating problems?

if you want to charge top dollar, you need to provide a reasonable product; sadly yours isn’t.
It’s a lovely property with tons of cool details everywhere.
our room was pretty expensive but our suite wasn’t made up, dirty from the last guests. our new ( less expensive) room was freezing as the windows are from 1850 ish and not touched in the renovation of the building. I could fit my finger between the upper and lower sash where the 20 degree winter weather was coming in. The couch and carpet were soiled, the washroom was dirty and dusty, hair and ? in the shower. The woman at the desk brought us a portable heater that made all kinds of noise instead of a warm room that I had asked for. I was told I would be getting a refund because our room a lesser room, to date no attempt has been made to date to refund any money.

It was the worst overnight stay in a hotel within memory
location and off street parking.
when we checked in to our room, it was freezing. there was no thermostat. the front desk said they controlled all the heat and would turn ours on. 4 hours later it was no warmer and we saw all the vents up in a 12’ ceiling were closed. the new desk attendant came up, apologized profusely and said she would move us to a different room but they were full. she did bring up 2 more bedspreads and a quilt which helped considerably. the room, however, did not warm up. we went to bed with stocking caps and wool socks. the next morning, it was still freezing; so much so we could not take showers. we went downstairs stairs and told the attendant we were checking out, the room never warmed up, and requested a refund. she said she would talk with her manager and get back to us on the refund but we have not heard back. it was 24 degrees outside that morning. I do not believe the room got out of the 50’s.
