Lovely character property, big room, great sheet, comfortable bed and free parking.
Property was spot on. Bar staff/family owner was a bit quiet on last orders. There’s a big bell and it wasn’t used but the locals were well-cared-for. Not a deal breaker, but with limited time working way one needs to know that your money is as good as the locals. Food service stops at 9pm, luckily the village shop is open til 10pm!

Love staying here. Dog friendly. Great room, lovely food and really helpful staff. Great price and location. It was Christmas Day, landlord John was kind enough to bring round some eats in the evening, which was great!
We did have some issues with the electric tripping, but this doesn't usually happen, we've stayed lots of times. Didn't really impact our stay.

Wonderful location. Excellent food. Friendly but not intrusive staff.
Just what we wanted for an overnight Valentines stay.
Definitely recommend.

Staff: Everyone friendly, helpful and approachable. Immediately provided extra heating when asked
Food: Two evening meals, both excellent (and that's not hyperbole)
Room: Comfortable with interesting slope!
Available free parking nearby a bonus
Nothing to say. A good value pub/hotel well run. No point in nitpicking for the sake of it

4.1
Friendly with a central location
The room was below par for the price point as toilet was a sanitary loo which was loud and fan in bathroom not working which made the room smell room 9 Had we stayed in room 8 we would have been highly satisfied

The hotel is very old 1420 I think therefore it’s a bit eccentric our room was on the first floor the door was short my husband had to bend to enter. The room was a good size with a large window looking onto the marketplace. A good king size bed very comfortable.
Breakfast for me was disappointing I don’t enjoy cooked breakfast and the cold breakfast consisted of cereal and toast. My husband enjoyed the cooked breakfast he needs a gluten free meal which was catered for.
Dinner was excellent a good menu and well cooked
.
For a 4 day break I don’t think I can complain about anything.

Breakfast not included despite the room price being relatively high.

Lovely building. Friendly helpful staff. Great location
En-suite had no window and extractor fan only worked with shower. Window in room was difficult to open without damaging it so remained shut. If it had been hotter we would have really struggled.

Location within Lavenham is fantastic. Best in the village.
The Food Menu's are not labelled with the time they start or stop. So, when we came down to Dinner at 6pm, having read the Menus in our room, we were told that we were too late to order our specific choices! We later discovered that one Menu is for Lunch only and the other for Evening only - but it does not say which is which on the Menus. The Waitress was polite and apologetic and she hinted that our little error was very common. This put a dampener on our ONE NIGHT STAY because, due to limited offerings, we had to seek another Restaurant elsewhere in the rain. We stayed in Room 5 at the rear of first floor which does not have the advertised character beams or a fire place. We overheard loud arguments from the Kitchen staff below including 'effing' swearing. In the hot night, we opened the window but beware this can let in the smell of Fish on Friday's !.

The staff were welcoming and did their best to ensure we had a good stay. The hotel was clean but you need to remember that it is very old and facilities vary between rooms. Choose your room carefully - according to Bookings . com our room would have a seating area ... ours did not.
Good experience overall.
Our initial room had a macerator which was very noisy.

The property was clean with everything we needed . The food was perfect we ate breakfast and dinner . A large variety of alcohol to choose from . All made better by the amazing staff . One of which Dee went above on beyond , after finding out we got engaged over the weekend .
The only issue we had was the water flow in the bath was very low pressured. My fiancé also didn’t find the bed very comfortable being two single pushed into one .

Breakfast was lovely. The hotel had lots of character. The bed was very comfy. I loved my Pimms!
Would have been great to have a chest of drawers in the room to put my clothes in.

My partner and I enjoy staying in character accommodation and English pubs are a favorite. The Angel is a gem of a character accommodation. It is located in the pretty market village of Lavenham. The Angel is very old and very comfortable. The staff are excellent. The pub food and the breakfasts are very tasty and filling. My partner has dietary intolerances and the kitchen catered expertly to her needs. The stairs to the rooms which are all on the first floor are narrow and the floor creaks. The hallways lean and doorways are low. This place is filled with original features and charm. While there is everything you need here it has all been blended into a centuries old timber and plaster building. Parking is on-street and we had no problem finding a spot outside the hotel every day. We loved every minute of our stay at The Angel and in the beautiful village of Lavenham.
We liked everything about this place. The rough edges are part of the appeal. It's a pub, it's not perfect, and it does not pretend to be anything more than it is.

Fantastic location in the Market Place.
Our room 7 had its own front door to the street, a comfortable bed and a clean shower/bath room.
Great pub area with large fire place and local draught and craft beers.
Delicious and filling full English Breakfast and smoked salmon and scrambled eggs.
Last but not least compliments to the friendly and helpful staff that made us feel very welcomed.
The refrigerator was on by default and is noisy during the night and a waste of energy when not in use. We switched it off.
Emergency lighting LED is too bright and first time I recall one being in the bedroom,
Our room was a bit cold on our first night, but fine the second night.

Location
Room not great and next to it was some sort of staff room with staff larking about
4.1
The welcome, the real ale, the size of my bedroom, the comfort of the bed, the shower, fluffy towels, the stunning architecture. The good humoured care from the staff, the location, the parking.
WiFi didn't work in my room, which is not good for a business trip.
4.1
Restaurant very good
Breakfast poor.
Entrance to the hotel is an untidy unwelcoming mess of boxes crates trolleys in the courtyard.

All was as expected.
For one night it was fine. Very friendly and helpful staff
The bathrom. The mirror was to high to see in. The toilet seat was very heavy and fell with a bang. Soft close seat would have been good!
